The impostor syndrome tip speaks to me. The best tip I got from my grandmother was “ even if it seems that other people have it all figured out, they don’t. None of us knows what the hell we are doing. So don’t try comparing yourself to others, it’s a rabbit hole “ . I still giggle when I remember that statement.

Terri, thank you for this video. I've listened to it several times and realized that while caring my my mother who has dementia has been so very difficult, I have indeed grown so much. Our relationship has always been difficult. She has always been very toxic due to unaddressed trauma in her past. Her critical nature caused me to constantly doubt myself.
Plans for challenges to increase self confidence:
    1) train for a 5K run that is coming up in June
    2) incorporate more vegetables into my meals. Goal is 8 servings of vegetables per day.
    3) Drink more water and less soda during Lent and beyond🤞
    4) crochet an afghan for my mother for Mother's Day.🤞
    Brag List
    1) completed about four 5K runs in the last ten years. Last one completed was Susan G Komen about 6 years ago
    2) currently caring for a 3 year old Corso Pit. Bonnie is my emotional support dog (not certified) but I'm considering having her certified. I'm still training her - sit, stretch, lie down, give me five. This is the first dog I've cared for alone. We walk/run together about 5 times a week. I've recently begun preparing her food myself instead of giving her commercial dog food. She's beautiful, healthy and thriving.
    3) I crocheted a pair of fingerless gloves for myself two weeks ago❤
    4) before my bike was stolen, I rode several times a week and my legs are AMAZING. Working on getting a new bicycle. I miss the challenge of riding uphill.
    5) I've embraced the fact that I am an introvert. More so tha any other accomplishment, this has increased my self confidence. I come from an extended family of extroverts who are convinced that I am on drugs because I enjoy my alone/downtime. I'm not on drugs. I'm just different and that is okay👍

Yeah you don't want to live with resentment and be an angry person. That's what I think has happened to a lot of angry people have known. And they want to keep you down with them which is why they are not interested in you.
Thankyou this is a brilliant vid.😊

Dealing with this now at a new workplace. Immense feelings of inadequacy each morning as I arrive. It only goes away once I’m in over my head on the daily.
There are a LOT of folk out here, in healthcare, with expectations that you are god and can handle it all.

Thanks, Terri! This talk does make a difference in my life! I just got past an episode of feeling like a failure in front of my coworkers. But, in fact, there was a problem that needed solving. I got needed input from some leader- coworkers, and the embarrassment turned into just a blip! And what made me mad at first was sort of validated, then I could move into the solution . Little steps, and space to think and changes in my self talk are helping me to see the truer picture of my contributions at work and value my own input. I needed that .

Terri, your content is always delivered in the most nurturing and validating way. A very big part of my life experience has been emotional invalidation and as a result having to avoidant and shut down so to find a psychotherapist with your highly sought after attributes is so very comforting.
Mentioning ADHD also helps spread awareness as people often get frustrated with us because we present as deaf but we are not deaf, and so there is little empathy due to little understanding. I always slow your TH-cam videos down a bit to allow me to process your words and then I can rewind and go over them some more when I need to. This is not something I can ask for in person currently hence why this video is super helpful as I am trying to be vulnerable but confident enough to advocate for my communication needs so that I can actually take part in the interaction rather than pretending to and feeling so drained and like an imposter in the process of 'masking' so that others feel comfortable and I can gaslight myself once again into the faux belief that I can cope with a pace that I cannot ❤
Thank you for your wonderful work and I appreciate and see your personal attributes that so many psychotherapists simply do not have and are so lost in the pathological aspects instead of the individual. You are a reminder to them all that science need not be clinical and cold any more. We have evolved and I hope we continue to evolve from this.

Dear Terri, for me it's about my relationship with my husband now. I can set boundaries but my husband tries to break them. I still believe in myself and I keep standing for them although it's very tough to see and experience how our relationship is the last 2 weeks. Almost no contact, no love, no touches, almost not looking at me etc... But I stand for what I believe and I believe in myself. I'm very confident. My limits, desires, and dealbreakers are too important to me to make it up with his sister for the so called peace.
Thanks to you Terri and other books,... 📚📚📚♥️♥️♥️🌈🌈🌈❤️❤️❤️🙏🙏🙏🌺🌺🌺

Terri thank you for this talk--I am an extrovert but my early childhood had me shy and lacking confidence. I've evolved a lot, but the 'need to please' continues to this day and I find myself giving more of myself to other people's priorities, needs, projects etc. than I do to my own--and frankly it drives me nuts. I appreciate your ideas on how to continue to build confidence, and equally serve myself!
