I went to GW (SEAS '13) and here's my two cents - take EASY classes. No employer has ever asked me what classes I took, while some have cared about my GPA. You don't get extra points for acing a hard class versus an easy one. Take the easy ones.

Not that your attempt at looking cool wasn't a good try, it's just that you should either try harder next time, or even consider not being a douchebag. It's up to you though.

What the girl @0731min said is true. The black community of black people is small at GWU and although the clubs are open to everyone it is not a black welcoming atmosphere. Especially sororities or fraternities. Worst in engineering, you will be the only one or one of 4 black students from your class. Students won't include you including teachers. The research opportunities are mostly offered to white kids. I wish I had gone to UMD instead, well known but a lot more inclusive and diverse. Nonetheless, the NSBE community is great for engineers and other black communities there are great as well, you feel welcomed compared to other clubs.
Is the environment as competitive the last girl said? I can't deal with an overly competitive environment as sometimes I rely on others to help me out in class. I plan on majoring in Public Health and doing pre-med. What's your opinion on the people in the science majors/classes?

Science & Engineering fields are pretty competitive especially with pre-med. It’s not tooooo crazy but the competition is definitely there
So its more like an independent life style within the university, damn i thought it is like one of those college towns where its like one community.
