Yes I also prefer the full beard. I hate when beards are blended or when it's too defined but remember he can easily grow it back in weeks so no big deal. I once told my barber to clean up my beard and trim it and make it look neat.. He ended up shortening it so much that I didn't like it. I even told him that he trimmed it too short but within a few weeks it grew back
I think it was just the fade that ruined the final look. It's too harsh/not faded well, I've done the same because fading your own beard can be really tricky when it's at a bigger size. I think if you did this look again without the fade, it'd be good 👍

So I notice a lot of people are hating on how high the neckline is, how much beard oil he used, the fade etc. Here’s a wild thought, there is no standard on beards or hair like hey this is exactly how it needs to be, no, if that’s how he likes to have it let him do his thing. if his beard is a little aggressive on the shape who cares, if the actual length of the beard covers that neckline what does it matter. if it was all stubble and he did that then it would not look good. Sure it may take away some fullness when looking at it from the side, but from the front it’s still the same. so who cares. not everybody likes their beard to look like a box and have no dimension off the face from the side.
before and after both look good. Just different styles. Sometimes I let it grow out and keep it a little upkept and then I go more refined and shorter.. Great thing with a good beard is you can always switch it up... negatives comments come from those without the follicles to grow one lol
