Lovebites, the Warning, Nemophilia, Gacharic Spin, etc. There are several great rock/metal bands I like out there with highly skilled musicians and vocalists. But I had not found anyone capable of the baffling level of creativity, musicality, originality in the composition of their music, until I did find Band-Maid. There is such a unique alchemy going on with themembers of this band which make them like no other one.
What you’re saying completely agrees with what I was thinking before. All these groups are great, but no one is near Band Maid in the level of musicianship with all solos finely times, with all fills and transitions. Say, Akane is fully capable of long solos, but she rarely does it unless it is in the line of a song. Same to other members of the band. They all serve the song not their ego. I find some good songs in Guns and Roses, there are quite a few in Metallica, but not at the level of Band Maid when’re practically all songs are so well maid and perfect.
@@haggaisimon7748 Love your spelling in "so well maid and perfect" !!----you give it the best spelling, after all ! can only agree with all you say here !
So pleased when somebody mentions the Saiki, Miku combination. There are two emotions after listening to The Maids. Either beaming and smiling or tearful and reflective. They are a wonderful vocal pairing in front of what still remains one of the best group of musicians I have ever heard. The blend is perfect.
I don't understand Japanese, but Saiki and Miku are so good at projecting emotion, that I actually feel the emotion of the songs and that gives me an idea what they're about.
Kanami and the girls produce the most dense yet completely integrated music for any hard rock band in history. Songs like Sense, Unleash, Hibana, Corallium, Different... even Black Hole and No God -- most of Unseen World really -- will undoubtedly grow on us because that's what Band-Maid songs do. Everyone one of them! Thx, M-Head!
Certainly one of their most underrated songs, and one of the few with lyrics by Saiki. Don't worry about the watery eyes, goosebumps or chills running up and down your spine. Those are all natural symptoms of the BAND-MAID effect. Also a smile you can't wipe off your face. I get chills from Kanami's piano tracks on this one. And 'About Us' always brings a tear to my eye.
Yes, I hope Kanami isn't pressured to write more commercial songs in the future. Saiki wrote the lyrics for Corallium which may be one of the reasons the lead vocal contribute so much to the complexity of the arrangement. I know Kanami is encouraging others, especially Misa, to write songs, so we could get even more varied arrangements in the future. What a great band.
It's so cool that they played this venue after so many years! They've outgrown the bar that was their loyal supporter for so many years but they didn't forget them. Their music has advanced and matured as well but they'll never forget where they came from. It's so weird, though, to end a song to clapping like it's a freakin' jazz club!
Thanks AMP ! My head wasn't ready for this one a year ago. Since rediscovering this one recently, I completely agree ! It is pure brilliance from start to finish ! Saiki's passion and Miku's high harmonies are the clincher ! ♥️
This song became one of my top 10 as soon as heard it. I think it's one of their best. Live is just as good! I think it's one of Saiki's best signing too. She does so many styles in one song. Love it.
Had not heard this so much the first time!---a reaction like this is really worth a lot to us non-musicians, as I,for one, would not have woken up to the real depth and value of this otherwise. The Miku-Saiki combination is something impossible to not love !!
I had to listen to this song several times to come to grips with it. I think it's Band-Maid's most clever and intellectual composition. It has everything with different instruments and vocals chasing rhythm, instruments following vocal melodies, killer transitions with instruments or vocals, grooves, massive vocals and harmonies, etc. All in one song. The second verse where the instrumentation drops measure after measure until only Miku is playing (maybe soft tom from Akane?) - awesome. Akane's snare rhythm in the back half of the choruses. Oof!!
Thanks AMP for the analysis and reaction. It is a masterpiece that I wish they performed more, but they have so many that it gets lost in the mix. HNY!
Speaking of songs with great vocals...............have you heard Yuragu? It's off Brand New Maids. It's before they were allowed to write their own stuff but still a reall awesome song.
This was too complicated for me at first. Same as their other newer songs, it took multiple listens to start making sense. I do think the vocal arrangement is the most complex they have done.
Yes, they are a bit overqalified. Mike is always 2nd voice for Saki and their Rhythmus sektion plays as it wants The Bass (Misa) decides at will which Instruments needs help when, the drums (Akami) can do the same and while normalli the gzitarist(Kanami) Compostela their songs four of them are able to. This gives them a huge flexibility.
Drum=wise. it would be nice to,also, hear some appreciation of: Hiryu High School,,,Taiko Festival at Fuji---2011 and 2012-------------"the girl in the middle" !------anyone know where she is playing now ?
A bit of a warning. I'm not sure the Eggman videos are sanctioned. The live stream was pay to view. It was a great show though. Let us know how it goes.
Are you upset I didn't use the word composition while complimenting her more than a few times, talking about how you can take sections of her guitar parts and make complete songs out of them, or breaking down her descending guitar parts down, or doing a little air guitaring to her part... I complimented the brilliance of the song many times... while giving credit to the other 4 artists as well... I'm not a composer so you will need to go to Ryan Mear or Wave Potter for a more in-depth analysis. Thanks for watching though!

« The greatest modern r&r song of all time » : so true.
The greatest song from the greatest band.
I don't understand Japanese, but Saiki and Miku are so good at projecting emotion, that I actually feel the emotion of the songs and that gives me an idea what they're about.
I love this 2022 Eggman Pre-US and 2017 Shinkiba because I can clearly hear Miku's guitar and singing voice.
Hoping for a DVD!!

I love the way all Band-Maid instruments including vocals interplay and dance around each other. So together.

PO! to everything you said !
Agreed, this is a masterpiece! I Love the interaction between Saiki and Miku. This band is a true miracle! 😎🤘
Tears? Band Maid make me cry a little with every second song lol. ❤
That's a lot of crying haha
I cry everytime I hear Kanami playin’ ….Tears of Joy 😂🔥🤘❤️🇫🇮

The mini album containing Sense, Corallium and Hibana is the one of the greatest modern R&R mini-album!

All i can say,is thank you Babymetal for opening the gate to amazing Japanese bands😊.
Nah there is more to it than just Babymetal.

Happy New Year!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I think they'll definitely play it at the Spin-Off show.
When it came out I could only just handle it but knew I loved it, which is as good as it gets.
If I could only have one bandmaid song
The whole Eggman show was fantastic.

Possibly their most prog song just on the side there too.
Nice sticks, I got a Miku pick in Denver ❤😊❤

If I were to catch someone say Band Maid is good “for a girl band,” they would get slapped.
How about some love for the composer? What happend there ?
