  • I just thought this might be useful to some people! The Digitakt 2 comes with tons of really good samples from factory, and as well it has 29 premade kits using those samples which have been manipulated into cool new sounds.
    Whether you are just curious, or you want to use a kit (either as-is or as a starting point for inspiration), I thought it would be nice to have an audio library of them as manually going through them takes some time. Feel free to scrub through to find the kits you want, or sit back and see all that ‪@WeAreElektron‬ put in the box!
    I am doing a challenge currently where I am trying to do daily (or close to) jams, using each of the factory kits. I change things from there and add in the Vermona Perfourmer as well. Check out my 29 kits playlist if you're interested :)
    Have a nice day!

    Thank you so much for taking the time. Very much appreciated. The factory kit challenge does sound like a great idea. Expecting my device to arrive sometime next week... my first Elektron.

      Good to hear! As I was halfway through editing I thought to myself "Was this the biggest waste of time to date?" 😅 But glad you enjoyed it!
      Oh great! Enjoy it when it comes!

    cool demo, lots of nice well-formed earthy textures 👏 i appreciate your warning at the very beginning that the sounds vary in volume! 😁 per the video description, it's cool that you're doing a daily challenge to use all the factory kits 🔥

      Thank you! Yeah I'm pretty impressed with the varied and numerous options they loaded it with, before even touching the 20GB of space for everything else you want!
      Yeah I think I'm crazy to do the Jamuary style thing another month by myself, but it's been a great way to get used to the new setup and I'm having fun :)
      Thanks for watching and taking the time here!

    Is this like the sound kits of the Analog Four, where you load a kit and have different patterns running that same kit?

    • @hexwavemusic
      @hexwavemusic  วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      @@neonpop80 I've never used an analog four, but you can at least sort of use it that way but it sounds like it's a bit different?
      You can load a kit into a pattern and that fills out all the tracks, just for that pattern though. Like saving a full setup of all tracks including parameters and FX settings and routings.
      However, you can use it in the way you describe by using the perform kit mode, so when you toggle that on and change patterns the kit will stay the same regardless of the pattern, until you turn perform mode off.

      @neonpop80 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @@hexwavemusic I see. So the performance kit locks the sounds “in” during pattern changes until it is toggled off. So if you toggle it on on pattern 1, then switch to pattern 2, then toggle it off, the saved sounds of pattern 2 load back?
      In Analog Four it’s straight forward. You have kits with sounds and saved parameters, to which can be saved alongside patterns, so that changing patterns does not affect the sound kits when switching patterns. You can make any changes to the sounds during performance and load the saved kit anytime to reset the sounds back, usually after a build up. It’s awesome for live performance

    Does this just come with 29 drum presets and then you import your own or make them, I’m a bit new to this, does it come with any other sounds like mpc at all

    • @hexwavemusic
      @hexwavemusic  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Oh no no, the "kits" it comes with that I'm using here are basically just examples they've set up for people to play with. A kit is made up of 16 "presets". Presets are each a sample that has been manipulated with all the digitakts parameters like FX and amp envelopes and LFOs etc.
      So it's basically just 29 sets of examples of what can be made with samples using the machine.
      The Digitakt has a lot of samples, probably a few hundred, that you can use to manipulate into whatever you want. You can then save those changes into presets, and then save the whole setup into your own kit if you want.
      And then you have 20gb with which to load whatever other samples you want.
      Hope that makes sense!

      @@hexwavemusic thank you for explaining it to me, it looks a great bit of kit. I was just searching up the digitone which seems to be an add on for the sound side only rams the digitact is the sampler side

      @@Goober2023 The Digitone is a great machine, but I will say it is a bit complicated, harder to learn because it's FM synthesis which isn't the most intuitive. Still great and you can get one a bit cheaper since it's been out awhile, but the Syntakt is a really good machine for synthesis if you want that. My recommendation though would be to start with one box (like the Digitakt) if you're new because it can be a lot to learn and take in, and adding a second machine makes it a lot more complicated.
      I'd recommend the mega beginner guides by True Cuckoo for these Elektron machines, they explain things a lot for the perspective of someone who hasn't used one before.
      Cheers!
