I see everyone giving props to the Splatoon team for managing all of this in game and such, but can we take a moment to praise THE VOICE ACTORS?! Keity, Mari, Rina, Alice, Anna, Laura, ALL OF THEM ABSOLUTELY SLAAAAAAAAAAYED! Props to EVERYONE for managing to create this incredible core memory!

1:01:07 if you take a close look on the idols fingers you can see that it represents the number that these idols were from. Like Maria is from Splatoon 1 so her finger is pointing one. And Pearl is from second Splatoon game so her finger is pointing two. (Sorry If I didn’t explain good 😅) The tiny details that Nintendo put is incredible. It got me emotional 😭❤
I’m so upset that I missed the festival I was really looking forward to it but I had lots of school work over the weekend and was too tired at the end of it all to hop into at least one game I would’ve been on team present if I had the time. Hopefully this isn’t the final final fest I’m sure this is just for the future of the franchise and not the end of splatfests for splatoon 3. Congrats to team past for winning. @@Ruggi_8 It would straight up be fiscally irresponsible of Nintendo to not continue Splatoon games. It's one of their best sellers and possibly the biggest money maker for the online subscription. They said this game ended an "era" but that could just mean they're going to shift focus away from the established idol groups.

I just realized the jellyfish musicians backing up the idols are colored differently depending on which group they’re performing with. They sport Team Past’s pink for the Squid Sisters, Team Present’s blue for Off the Hook, and Team Future’s green for Deep Cut. That’s such a cool detail that I somehow never noticed during the Splatfest proper!
I adore that they adapted the Live Show choreos for the idols into the game sm, and Marina.... Finally taking off her headphones and letting her ears show, such a cute little detail! I'm really sad I missed the Festival, but my Switch got damaged when a pipe burst in my apartment. Thank you for uploading all the performances in high quality.
I really hope this isn't the last time we see this used for a splatfest. this was soo good to only use it once would be a crime. This splatfest had soo much going for it. and it delivered and then some. Splatoon was the first shooter I got into, and helped me realize who I am today. this was the best splatfest in more ways than one. the vibes, the setting, the emotions. Thank you Splatoon.

Im happy the plaza is used for amiibo. But I'm also glad they aren't repeating this stuff because that's what made this splatfest special. Just like Chaos vs order had those cool outfits
@@katelynuwu They take at least 3 years of dev time after the end of every last splatfest before the next game is out so I doubt Splatoon 4 will be out next year. however, since it's the 10th anniversary, it would be nice of them to do a remaster/rerelease of Splatoon 1 so people can have all 3 games on the same console.

It always kind of kills me how Deep Cut gets fully animated mouths while the Squid Sisters get like 1fps of mouth animation like popcat or something Edit: Actually they remind me more of a claymation or something. I think it works. It’s hella nostalgic, it’s just really funny. Mouths eternally in a lower framerate than everyone else’s.
Yea I noticed that Day 1 in 2022 in the campaign, the devs REFUSED or weren't allowed the time to properly upgrade everything. Hopefully Splatoon 4 fixes all the blunders of Splatoon 3

The wii u models couldn't handle fully animated mouth so the squid sisters mouth just changed shape like magic But the engine used for live concert can handle animated mouth That's why they were fully animated in concerts Then in 2017 splatoon 2 came out and this time the mouth could be animated So in splatoon 2 the squid sisters and OtH's mouth were normal Then in splatoon 3 they created this "inkopolis accent" with a "Splatlandian accent" That's why deepcut's mouth are fully animated Bonus: in day 1 of a splatfest big man's mouth use the inkopolis accent when he sings his anarchy poison

Man i cant describe how amazing this splatfest was. Seeing all the idols perform and them coming together at halftime it was amazing 🤩. I wish i watch them sing more but i was busy battling and i might have watch pearl and marina way more that i should have lol
I missed Splatoon 1 due to college and work. During Splatoon 2, I worked overnight weekends and missed every splatfest. Then because of work I missed all of Splatoon 3. I hope to be part of the next one.

Yeah I think they straight up redid the way they made their models in 3, and were of course built from the ground up for the game. If I was to hazard a guess, the jumping mouth textures on OTH and the Squid Sisters is just a byproduct of their models being repurposed from previous games with some tweaking to save them from remaking the model. It does have the side effect of the very weird disparity between them tho lmfao

I was listening into the light at the last fest minutes. It was so heartwarming to see pearl and marina sing until the song ended and disappeared into the smoke just for the scenario reset sign to show right up after.

I loved the Grand Fest so much!! I didn’t get to play as much as I wanted but I was able to catch just enough to say I have a full experience!! From cheering with the npc Jellyfish, trying to coordinate and playing with friends, disconnecting from games(especially last game of the entire fest 😭), to crying my eyes out to the end of it all with the ending songs. It was truly a one of a kind fest. I’m so thankful the devs are letting us keep the GrandFest grounds! See everyone again Splatoon 4!! Never forget to stay fresh and to never get cooked!! I've never noticed until now, that the idols in Deep Cut have animated mouth movements, and always assumed they used the same as in Splatoon 1 and 2, where their mouths have a "sprite" that changes out to imitate mouth movement. It's kind-of funny to see that side by side in this video.
I stopped playing splatoon 3 for basically almost 2 years mainly because of life related issues and came back like a week ago I only learned recently that the grand festival happened in sad I missed it but with 100% conformation there will be a 4th game I’m okay in the end and I’ll make sure I don’t stop playing this franchise
I was lucky enough to have enough free time to experience all three days (missed the final dawn because i wasn't expecting it) and Nintendo/Monolith really blew me away. This proves why Nintendo is king, they didn't even have to do all this. They didn't even have to include all 3 idol groups but went all out and beyond. And then they let us actually cheer with the crowd like a legit concert?! Seriously touched my heart. All of the memories over he years since Splatoon 1 came flooding back. Only thing missing was letting us gather with others to experience it together

Most of the performances here are actually reused from old hologram concerts. That's why Off The Hook looks so janky (just look at Marina's hair), except for their new songs because they did those with current day mocap tech that's much better than it used to be
I haven't played in 2 years because my internet was so bad it almost felt like dial up. So I didn't even know about the Grand Festival. Thank you for your dedication ^^

I was so surprised that I didn’t tear up seeing the first several performances in game, but when I walked into that crowd and watched the stage light up with all three idol groups, that was what hit me. My roomate walked in on me just absolutely sobbing at the tv while these guys were singing 😭😭
This really was a life changing splatfest, I am very thankful to have gotten to play. Team Future was... Fun to be a part of. It does feel bitter to not get even one point in the end, but the memories sweetly make up for it... BUT JUST WAIT!!! This just means that BWS - Moon will shine brightly on the world in the future!!! Someday, somewhere... May the moon shine on!

The best plot twist would be if for the 10 year anniversary splatfest, they say they wanna do another grandfest but they got banned from the last venue for burning it down, so instead they do a completely new grand fest at a completely new place, maybe Octo valley with permission from Octavio since Inklings and Octolings seem chill now, and Octavio actually performs. Ha ha, just kidding, unless..?
Biggest theory I’ve heard for this game since the beginning, and honestly I would like that, although the entrance to the Valley is sealed by tires placed on top of the manhole, unless we get some other way of going there.

This is the best splatfest ever
I missed Splatoon 1 due to college and work. During Splatoon 2, I worked overnight weekends and missed every splatfest. Then because of work I missed all of Splatoon 3. I hope to be part of the next one.
Tell me about it. I missed out on Splatoon 1, because I never owned a Wii-U. I got Splatoon 2 incredibly late, after the Chaos vs Order Splatfest. I’ve played Splatoon 3 since launch day, as a way to redeem myself.
@@brave_jedi9437 I missed out S1 because I joined it when S3 got announced. I got S3 right at the 1 year anniversary. S2, is coming tomorrow.
anyone else notice that the performances in game are almost exactly like the live splatoon performances? even the other musicians are in there in the form of jellyfish and it's so cute

thank you so much... the grandfest happened after i left home for college and had to leave behind my switch for my younger sibling to use. im so heartbroken i couldnt play it myself for even just a an hour, but i appreciate you reserving the memories on youtube for us
Looking at this, and thinking in retrosoective, I came to notice that during the whole festival, Deep Cut had high budget lip-sync animation
Yeah I think they straight up redid the way they made their models in 3, and were of course built from the ground up for the game. If I was to hazard a guess, the jumping mouth textures on OTH and the Squid Sisters is just a byproduct of their models being repurposed from previous games with some tweaking to save them from remaking the model. It does have the side effect of the very weird disparity between them tho lmfao
@@hotsoup1339 I think the "snapping" lip syncing is fine, I honestly think it's more of a stylistic choice at this point.
@@VeiledArctic Yeah, I don't mind it either. Especially for long term fans from 1 and 2 it's just how we've seen the series presented up until 3. It's just fun to see how they've overhauled their approach presented side by side like it is here.

I was listening into the light at the last fest minutes. It was so heartwarming to see pearl and marina sing until the song ended and disappeared into the smoke just for the scenario reset sign to show right up after.
Those jellyfish are killing it! Also ty so much, I ended up getting splatoon fatigued after big run and only played the last day of the fest 😅
I can’t believe I missed this, I just couldn’t get a chance to get onto the game then. But being able to see this feat of musical joy is incredible - thank you for uploading, and for all those playing! Love Splatoon!

I loved the Grand Fest so much!! I didn’t get to play as much as I wanted but I was able to catch just enough to say I have a full experience!! From cheering with the npc Jellyfish, trying to coordinate and playing with friends, disconnecting from games(especially last game of the entire fest 😭), to crying my eyes out to the end of it all with the ending songs. It was truly a one of a kind fest. I’m so thankful the devs are letting us keep the GrandFest grounds!

I've never noticed until now, that the idols in Deep Cut have animated mouth movements, and always assumed they used the same as in Splatoon 1 and 2, where their mouths have a "sprite" that changes out to imitate mouth movement.
It's kind-of funny to see that side by side in this video.
I stopped playing splatoon 3 for basically almost 2 years mainly because of life related issues and came back like a week ago I only learned recently that the grand festival happened in sad I missed it but with 100% conformation there will be a 4th game I’m okay in the end and I’ll make sure I don’t stop playing this franchise
I was lucky enough to have enough free time to experience all three days (missed the final dawn because i wasn't expecting it) and Nintendo/Monolith really blew me away. This proves why Nintendo is king, they didn't even have to do all this. They didn't even have to include all 3 idol groups but went all out and beyond. And then they let us actually cheer with the crowd like a legit concert?! Seriously touched my heart. All of the memories over he years since Splatoon 1 came flooding back. Only thing missing was letting us gather with others to experience it together

I'm actually blown away that they mo-capped over an hour's worth of dancing just for this event.
Most of the performances here are actually reused from old hologram concerts. That's why Off The Hook looks so janky (just look at Marina's hair), except for their new songs because they did those with current day mocap tech that's much better than it used to be

I was so surprised that I didn’t tear up seeing the first several performances in game, but when I walked into that crowd and watched the stage light up with all three idol groups, that was what hit me. My roomate walked in on me just absolutely sobbing at the tv while these guys were singing 😭😭

The best plot twist would be if for the 10 year anniversary splatfest, they say they wanna do another grandfest but they got banned from the last venue for burning it down, so instead they do a completely new grand fest at a completely new place, maybe Octo valley with permission from Octavio since Inklings and Octolings seem chill now, and Octavio actually performs. Ha ha, just kidding, unless..?

Biggest theory I’ve heard for this game since the beginning, and honestly I would like that, although the entrance to the Valley is sealed by tires placed on top of the manhole, unless we get some other way of going there.
