Dude, you literally took off a severely cracked screen in one piece and a chunk broken off hanging by a sheer thread...very difficult. That's a lot of skill needed there to do that. Props to you.
I work with Samsung phones in authorised repair and I wish we could use leaded solder, this is waaay easier. What I have to do is take the new reader apart and do it by hand pin by pin, then put the ejector and case on and finish the outside legs. All with iron. All because I don't want to damage the wifi chip on the other side by putting too much heat into the board... Nice fix.
Nothing worse.... you make an effort and something so simple like a sim tray lets you down and fix gets to live another day. Murphy’s law! As always a BIG 👍 from me. 🇬🇧
hello nicely done You know what you are doing great work and the more you talk the more interesting it becomes you have a good way of telling what you do
As much as I like the latest samsung models, they are a pain in the neck to change the glass, front and rear. I am considering buying a deep freezer to freeze off the front glass panels. Excellent work seen here. Removing the cracked back glass in one piece just shows his skill.
Para poder quitar sin dañar más yo uso acetona 100 pura puede ser el que usan para despintar las uñas con eso el pegamento se libera rápido y sin resistencia.
I recomend you buy a lcd seperator machine just to heat up and remove the backs from phones its the easyest way to remove backs from phones without damageing the backs or front screens when removing cheers from a border town in m xico
Vindix007 in the UK that type of gasoline is the type used in cigarette lighters...we call it lighter fluid, but yes it is a type of petroleum or gasoline.
I have a Galaxy S20 G (SM-G981W) with a faulty tray (not physically damaged, to my knowledge). It won't detect the SIM card. I would use eSIM, but eSIM is blocked on the Canadian variant (all Snapdragon variants don't have eSIM to my knowledge). So that leaves me with replacing the sim card reader slot. I saw a video of the motherboard being replaced on the S20, and it appears that the principle would be the same (take the motherboard out, remove the sim card reader slot, and resolder the new one)... is that correct?
When soldering smd components that runs hot like power MOSFETs ,power transistors, any smd components that runs hot is it safe to use leaded solder when replacing that bad component or use the same unleaded solder, for example laptop power mosfet gone bad,?
Hi, did you replace the rear cover when you repaired? Not sure how much in the US, but here in the UK, can pick one up for around £5 which also saves messing around removing all the old glue. Once again, great vid ;)
bonjour a 9m54 vous rajouter de l'étain sur le circuit je n'y arrive pas l'étain reste sur mon fer a soudé et ne s'accroche pas au circuit auriez vous un conseil.? merci beaucoup
On the other side of motherboard there is a wifi and bluetooth module ic mounted changing the sim jacket with the heatgun is a real risk for bluetooth and wifi . How🤔?
s10 was loose back after screen replacement and got moisture damage from carrying in out of AC in florida. when i insert sim in my s10 hangs/crashes and touch wasnt working at all. cleaned up contacts which were corroded, touch fixed, but sim still hangs phone. while in airplane mode its fine but once data is turned on it just hangs. with sim inserted phone doesnt even boot fully. any ideas if the sim slot is bad or mother board damage? without sim it works great no issues at all
Hey mate, hopefully you read this. Can you offer any advice. I have been looking for s20 ultra sm-g9880 charge board for the China model for a few weeks (board I require is labelled as sm-g988u but is marked as China). I can't for the life of me find it. You seem like you are the type of person that would know where to find weird parts. (PS. Charge port pads are destroyed, so unable to switch port)
Bought an iPhone 8 Plus with a bad sim card reader thinking its an easy repair. It's harder than it looks. Plastic just melts. I think liquid solder got into near caps and something else under the nearby shield. As it gets super hot and the phone won't power on. Without removing the shield to see what gifts await, seems VDD_MAIN is shorted. Thinking solder got to some small caps to the left of the sim tray
Samsung amoled screens are strong and the glass is only for protection. Since you heat the back glass there is no chance to damage the screen. The trickiest part in these phones is replacing the battery.
Why companies thought it was a good idea to put glass on the back is beyond me. That's the dumbest idea an engineer ever had. It serves no real purpose other than aesthetics.

He did not take off the screen, just the back panel

it's always those "simple" lil things that get broken by simpletons who rush into changing cards and break the whole tray xD
hello nicely done You know what you are doing great work and the more you talk the more interesting it becomes you have a good way of telling what you do
Greetings from Sydney, Australia. Khalili Yek ! You are an awesome repairer Alex. Much respect to you man.
For the first time I've seen you repair a samsung phone i liked it 👍

Thought this was an older video so glad you got the building next door next step will be a much bigger place
I am now convinced the way you use the flux generously.
What was the clear liquid you used when you removed the back-glass, was it Isopropyl Alcohol?
Yes
Thanks for mentioning the temperature of the air solderer!
With clear understanding..😍👍
Thanks for your videos, i like to watch your channel
What temperature you use to replace the Sim card tray
420 boiiii
200°C...
@@crazyphil7782 ...I see what you did there😏
You make it look so easy :)
Great video again. Keep up the great work boss!
what liquid do you use when you start to disembling it?
Peobably some alcohol
Safety glasses would be a good idea when working with broken screen glass.
You are always #1

What are you using here (02:40)?
Isopropyl Alcohol?
You could use business cards on the edges to prevent it from sticking back
@Omar alpjaly Transparent gasoline?
😄
Vindix007 in the UK that type of gasoline is the type used in cigarette lighters...we call it lighter fluid, but yes it is a type of petroleum or gasoline.
Yes, it's Isopropyl Alcohol to soften the glue.
another great video sir .. love it
Awesome like always
Nice job again like always
What is the soldering iron, you used.
what temperature to desolder with gun? Thanks

You should have used super glue to glue the sim tray together

Sir.what type of soldering coil do you used???pliz

I fail to see how you can replace a glass back cover without removing the old glue. How would you properly install the new one?
I have one word for you (professional)
i would try a blob of super glue on the broker part, and if you sprinker baking powder on it, it will harden instantly then it would be as good as new
Thanks for sharing
what liquiid you use to remove the glass cover
whats temperature you use it to change sim or charging port
I think It's between 370° to 390° good Luck
Great job! As always! +1

You can use an old crap soldering tip to "weld" the plastic back together if you need to in the future.
What is that liquid you keep adding

Good. Job👍.
What charge was taken for fixing this ?
Hola sera que dispone las vias para que lea las sim no detecta despues de cambiar la pieza ese mismo modelo porfavor...
Super :)
It's good to use plastic spatule to remove caméra cannector And for the other motherboard connector ...

If the sim card reader is made of plastic won't it melt if you apply heat with the heat gun
yes but is kind of plastic that cam take about 350' temperature
Nice.
Hi sir I like your soldering iron what brand are you using?
Solder the sim card tray please :D

Has anyone had an issue with the screen going black when it gets cold. Works perfectly when warm.
It’s time Alex you buy your own land and build your own empire lol. Renting is a waste of serious money and write offability lol.
How much do you charge for this???

Repair is more than brand new phone.Customer is ok with that😂😂😂😂
Great...
whats the liquid you are using for opening the back glass
