I will say, Evolving Skies Booster is at 20 now, 20 x 36 = 720, the Booster Box is doing 750, so while you're technically right it's more, it's not a lot more. Once the market starts buying out of print things, the individual demand spikes often determine the nuance of price more. If a guy wants to fill a whole hobby room with Evolving Skies ETBs, they go up. If a guy wants to fill a bunch of mystery boxes and sell them online and he's buying every booster pack that exist, they go up. Of course, booster boxes become more valuable because you have more of something out of print, but the packs track the boxes and the packs have a significantly lower price point per unit that makes it easier to move them, so take your risk where you prefer.
Vaporself, i just started investing my self 4-5 month ish. Started opening, packs. Shifts to buy cool cards. But now I just started to learn from yt and experience sealed is the way to go. Buying few case from the good sets. And 3 from the great sets. Then just gonna hold and invest for 5years + great vid tho. Please share more from your start of investing thanks
Pokemon center exclusive ETB's are by design limited making them valuable so they'll never sell below msrp, so you're essentially buying at the bottom and once they're unavailable on the pokemon center they'll go up in value

I scooped up every evolving skies etb I could find in retail stores when it was new at MSRP. The costco etb/tin bundle for $38 was an insane deal, so glad I went hard on ES when it was readily available.

I'm actually trying to make that same switch.. I have some booster boxes and a ton of etbs but I have a massive amount of different collection boxes. Trying to make the switch to get rid of those and move them into sealed new release product. Vaporself is the best

Looks like I'm probably going to look into selling some of my stock like you did. Mainly collection boxes, UPC's. I'd rather buy 1 Evolving Skies booster box at 700 now than have 700 in 6 different boxes that you have to make multiple sales to get liquid.
Depending on the UPC and how much you bought them for, could be worth holding onto if you have space. But if you can make a profit and reallocate that money to booster boxes that’s not a bad idea.

Scarlet and Violet sets are already outperforming Sword and Shield era sets if you use the same timeframe. Not saying buying Sword and Shield is a bad investment because it isn't but getting booster boxes at 95$ and under is very attractive and there's very low downside risk. Plus there's already two sets that you could have gained like 40% plus on (twilight and paldea).
@@ryoyamada-p8h I highly disagree. Just to give you an example I'd rather buy two sealed cases of Paradox Rift right now than one case of Lost Origin. In 5 years I'd bet money that two cases of Paradox rift is higher then one lost origin booster box case. Again I Believe lost origin is going to do good but imo you can make more with paradox rift.
