It is not easy at all. For one, for you to make $50 on a booster box, it is going to have to appreciate almost $100 from what you paid for it because of fees and shipping. Second, because of the looming $600 tax reporting threshold coming next year (it is $2,500 for this year unless Congress changes it back to where it was a few years ago), you will get a 1099k for your sales for that year. In that instance, you better keep your receipts for what you paid (most don’t) unless you sell in cash in person. Then there is the issue of the number of people you are competing with to sell the same product at said price. So no, none of this is easy just because the booster boxes in general are on average about $50-$60 more than they were a year ago . That is just calculating gains on paper. Going to cash out is going to be a much less enjoyable experience than it was buying them and watching videos talking about how all of your hypothetical gains.

Buy both for msrp and be happy! Look it all up in 3/4/5 years and see where they are at.

Pokemon investing easy? Easy to say in a bull market. What if I told you this bull market did not happen until 3-4 years from now? Or if I told you it would never happen again? Everything is easy looking back. What if I told you I invested in BTC and "easy" stocks like TSLA and Nvidia early last year? All those three options were so easy. I dont agree with your sentiment in this video when you just started "investing" and put money in the start of a bull market. You could have held this product for 5-10 years with little to no appreciation. You would not call pokemon investing easy then. This is not ment to be ill intended towards you at all, but more of a warning to everyone else that past returns is not a guarantee in the future. Pokemon is heavily dependent on increased interest and money in the market for it to grow. None of us know what the future brings, but saying investing is "hilariously easy" in a ATH bull market never seen before in pokemon is so easy to say in hindsight.

I think obsidian will not fall the pc etb is carrying the set as whole its increasing the pack prices which will increase the booster boxes overtime.

Could Stellar Crown out performs, Temporal and Paradox in the short term? A lot of new collectors or those coming back into the space know Gen 1 Pokémon, maybe this is why the Gengar Vmax and fusion strike took the lead ahead of LO?

You have to wait 1 year to accurately see Prismatic evolutions set value. There is still so many other products to be released with prismatic. They also have masterballs which is a huge advantage for Prismatic. 151 will be a set everyone goes back to for the next 10-20 years and I can say that confidentially. Prismatic evolutions will do the same lol but I think more people will go back to 151 than Prismatic but we will see. Both sets are goated but rn I would focus on trying to get both sets for msrp if you can

A lot of the booster boxes are being collected just for the sealed product itself, not necessarily the cards in the set. Vapor.

Pull rates are way harder for prismatic and have more SIRs.

There is only so much a set can go to so soon after release, considering we still can buy etbs and other products at list price.

People are waiting for the reprint and thinking that they will get a etb for 55$ or something like that. Since the release, here in store they have a lot selling for 120$ and I'm still buying them at this price... To open is a big risk. Like playing the lottery... But as for long term.... I think is top 5 sets ever printed. Just gotta wait few years

People that are paying MSRP are either reflipping or opening People that are paying 2.5x above MSRP are mostly going to let that sit in their collection. I would not be surprised when this gets a mass re print and people who pay the 2.5x above msrp will have to wait some time to potentially sell it in future for more just like E&S , it took time for it to rocket but you holding on to it for 2 years and then jumping up and down because you made such a good investment sounds so stupid . thats 2 years your money sat and the ROI would never beat you just reflipping when things are hot. I could be wrong on this though but time will tell.

Im even parting ways with my collection because cards just dont make sense again . Are you waiting for a crash to sell? if you are able to get a couple boxes and flip for 110$ and double your ROI and repeat and rinse for the next couple months you are better selling it then holding it to free up your capital for your capital to make money. this video was just so stupid. i think i'm okay missing out on PE if I'm wrong. i agree that there has to be some parity between sealed prices, set value, and pull rates. have you considered that the set value could drop in response to 1) flippers selling at lower prices as you've said, 2) future team rocket cannibalizing PE sales, and 3) PC actually being able to reprint a ton of PE (HF and SF were both super-hyped special sets and were subsequently printed over-and-over). imo, it's just as likely for set value to drop as it is for sealed prices to rise.

I love the title of this video. This is a great discussion. I think they both are going to be really good long term, and you can't go wrong buying these at MSRP. However, I don't know how much 151 we can buy at MSRP in the future. Prismatic Evolutions on the other hand will have plenty of opportunities for us to buy at MSRP in the future. I will take either set at MSRP. Personally, I have been selling my entire collection and saving up cash and will be dumping every cent into Prismatic Evolutions at MSRP.

It’s really going to come down to reprint numbers, if they print a wave 2 with a large scale, and print 3 and 4 it might drop and possibly stabilize at between $70/$80. If they print enough to meet demand and there’s no flipping equity THATS when it will collapse to msrp or lower. It all comes down to reprint. It’s anyone’s guess at this point.
