I think I have watched this 100 times. It is hypnotic. His playing - even on an unfamiliar instrument- is shockingly good. I’ve been playing guitar for almost 40 years and I am mesmerized by Angelo’s playing. Especially on this particular video. The sound is so raw and clear. I love it!!
Listening to this man for 2 minutes is dangerous. It makes me think there's no other music left outside He kinda mesmerizes me just like a charmer does with the snake
Trop cool Angelo !!! 🎶 Quel souvenir d'avoir passé plusieurs heures avec Robert Godin et son luthier dans son quartier général à Montréal en septembre 2013, avec Denis Chang et plusieurs autres, à jaser de guitares manouches avant la commercialisation de ce modèle !! (brag) Nous avions apporté plusieurs types de guitares manouches et chacun y allait de son opinion sur les détails, la forme, les bois, le son, l'esthétique, etc. Je me doutais bien déjà à ce moment qu'il opterait pour un modèle "Multiac"... Moi j'aurais par contre ajouté un Bigsby ! ;P

I like that Angelo is open minded about giving this guitar a try even though he plays some of the best sounding jazz manouche guitars in the world. I wish Godin would relocate all the preamp sliders to a more subtle location. Totally ruins the aesthetic of a nice looking guitar. The lipstick pickup looks nice though, probably sounds great as well.
The first question Angelo ask is "is there two volume knobs for left and right?" Then the seller is answering "no, for the piezzo knobs are the black stuff and the golden knobs are for the magnetic pickup". At the end Angelo is saying "it's good to have/feel some comfort when you're playing" meaning the guitar is easy to play. No bullshit haha.
No, this model is specifically a gipsy jazz guitar, therefore with metal strings. Godin manufactures nylon strings models too, with a different neck and no magnetic Pup, which wouldn't work with nylon strings.
It’s a Godin guitar, with two mics : a regular magnetic one and a piezo. They build very nice guitars and basses, I used to play a fretless bass from them at my friends’ music studio, very nice for playing jazz

Nous avons quatre ou cinq artistes en classique qui font des salles à l'étranger, pas plus en musique populaire. Désolé de vous décevoir, la France est un nain de la musique au travers du monde. Ne serait ce que pour chanter, ça chante dans les stades Anglais, ça gueule dans nos stades. Même le chant qui est appris dans les écoles dans toutes les classes dans le monde, ça ne se fait pas chez nous. Désolé de vous affirmer une vérité qui vous dérange.

Mais en jazz et en musique classique, nous avons de grosses pointures. Par contre en rock, c’est pas fameux.
Les meilleurs guitaristes manouches sont francais Angelo Débarre ,Tchavolo Schmidt et Birelli Lagrène Les guitaristes bretons sont fabuleux en acoustique y'a Pierre Bensoussan t Jean Félix Lalanne En rock les best sont derrière les chanteurs genre Basile Leroux Nono Krief ou Patrice Marzin C'est un peu idiot comme réflexion
Trovo scandaloso che una chitarra di pregio non abbia uno straccio di istruzioni in italiano .E dire che non costa poco .anche l’importatore mi ha liquidato freddamente ed in malo modo dimostrando poca voglia di lavorare. Sono letteralmente incazzato con questa gente che non segue i clienti
As good as it is in the hands of the master player, this guitar has not captured neither the sound nor the looks of the original idea behind it. All those electronics could have been placed elsewhere and the original oval sound hole that's the main feature of the looks, should be presented in some way. I imagine that taking more care of the actual appearance of it would make Django Reinhardt more at ease with it. Only then would I personally, bye it.
