The green saber is Ezras he gave it to Sabine in the finale of Rebels. I think the message from him he also gave to her in the Rebels finale but I havent watched it in a while so I could be wrong

Great to see you back and that Mrs. Smols is joining you too. I cannot wait to see this show. I think seeing Sabine fight with what I can only assume is Ezra's lightsaber is going to be a huge highlight of the show. Rosario Dawson said (and I paraphrase) that Filoni basically did confirm in his own words that the show is basically Rebels season 5. It will be interesting, however, to see if casual fans will watch this show because it honestly seems more people have seen The Clone Wars series than have seen Star Wars Rebels. That is saying a lot considering many people have still not even seen The Clone Wars, even just based on the all the The Mandalorian tv show reactions I've seen and so many people had absolutely no idea who Ahsoka was or Thrawn or Bo-Katan. Basically, Ezra got the Darksaber from the Nightsister's Lair when he was brought there by Maul. Ezra then gave the Darksaber to Sabine, who under the advice of Fenn Rau, started training with it under the teachings of Kanan & Ezra. While on Concord Dawn, Chopper and Ezra were taken captive by Gar Saxon. Sabine came & helped rescue them & they escaped. I forget all the details, but somehow Saxon later captured Sabine, Kanan & Ezra & I think the Darksaber was used as a bargaining chip to save their lives. If I'm not mistaken, I think Sabine's mother took the Darksaber from Sabine and used it to trade for Sabine's life but Saxon betrayed her and called clan Wren all traitors and started killing everyone. Fenn Rau was also at one point a prisoner who somehow broke free and escaped, giving Kanan & Ezra the opportunity to get their lightsabers back. Sabine somehow used Ezra's lightsaber to stop Saxon from killing her mother. The 2 of them then fought each other one-on-one with Saxon having the Darksaber and that is when she defeated him and won the Darksaber. I think you will enjoy Secret Invasion. It is like the Jack Ryan series mixed with Captain America: Winter Soldier and Marvel's Agents of Shield. Basically, it is an MCU spy thriller with great character moments and very little MCU humor.
From everything that I've learned with regards to the Press about this new series it takes place somewhere around Mando season 3 which is about 3 years after the second season so wear something like five or so years after the start of Mandalorian and around ten years or so after Return of the Jedi

Vader breathing is at 1:45 in the actual trailer. Also the orange sabered force users are order 66 survivors and former Jedi. They do NOT identify as dark Jedi. And Sabine did end rebels with a green light saber. Ezras lightsaber.

I will freely admit that I have high hopes for this particular show, mainly because it is Ahsoka, the Dave Filoni thought baby. I just really hope that a certain person in Lucas Films keeps out of it, Ahsoka Tano is my, easily, favorite character in Star Wars and i dont think a lot of the fanbase would appreciate this persons interference like they did with S3 of Mando.

There's no Anakin in Rebels so she "should" like it... he recorded a message for her in one of the last episodes of rebels. That's Ezra's 2nd saber Sabine is using, I think.
This will be the first Disney show with no KK input/interference what so ever so Dave will be able to present SW the way George intended it, buckle up. It would be a good idea for your wife to see Rebels before the release of Ahsoka. I would love to see you and your son do reactions to Secret Invasions, it's getting juicy.
