I absolutely adore Sky Lynx because he's such an utterly insane concept-- a non-humanoid robot whose consciousness is split between two individual components somehow, which can combine to form an even bigger robot. And despite his animalistic appearance and titanic size not only is he fully sapient, but intelligent, sassy, and imbued with an ego the size of the sun. It's little wonder why out of all the obligatory transportation 'bots from G1 Sky Lynx is the most entertaining. Also his voice _rocks._

Usually used as 'bots' counter to Predacons, his let-him-be bravado is sort of an entertaining element to "mistakenly boring" Autobot principles.
I don’t know if he was the coolest transformer, but can we agree that he had the coolest vehicle more? The autobots just turned into cars, and the deceptions into aircraft. Skylynx, meanwhile, turned into a %#*!%#! space shuttle.
