I love your approach to weathering David. It’s so simple and effective. I’ve watched countless videos on weathering planes and tanks and it becomes a science! Some presenters make it appear so difficult, but you make weathering approachable for all levels of builders. Thanks mate. ❤️
@@DRToysCreations Yep. Spot on! Your approach gets the same result. As an aside, have you ever watched ‘Nightshift’? He’s a Russian guy (?) who does amazing dioramas and tanks, etc. Wow! The Da Vinci of modeling and dioramas. Thanks once again for your great videos. I’m from Australia by the way.
Dave, I just thought I’d share that you have fired me up and I’ve spent a few hours in the local $2 shop getting supplies. I’m also looking at the lids of shampoo bottles, bits and pieces around the house, and bought some Fantastic 4 figures and a Batman. The lady at the desk thought I was nuts because she asked if they were for me. I don’t tell fibs, so told her what I was going to do. She wished me luck. I am a tank and plane modeller, so have lots of insignias and extra bits left over which I can use. Even tank tracks! Even my wife is rolling her eyes…but isn’t surprised! 😁 Thanks Dave. ❤️
Very nice, just found your channel, I like what you do, thumbs up. I'm a modeler myself, and I light my builds, and I know that adding light just adds another layer of Oh God what have I done, lol but I love it, adds so much life, and for me it was a shame to see something so big not lighted, but that's okay, not everyone's cup of tea. Another old school trick, I have tons, anyway, to get a true metal polished like a car waxed look, or an old shine, a new dryer sheet. Gently rub on after you finally clear coat that's glossy or flat, glossy will shine up like new wax and flat will give an old shine look. It's an old Hollywood miniatures trick they used on model set cars that needed to look hand waxed. Today's clear coats I guess are shiny enough but the dryer sheet still gives it a interesting look. Anyway, yeah I'd add lights so much room. I'm slowly working on a 1:2500 scale (I know right) lighting Nx-01 star trek Enterprise. Working with Pecos lol super tiny. THIS IS THE WAY.
Dryer sheet!!! Wow, I totally need to try that! So because this was a paint job for a buddy I was just focused on doing the paint job, I'm no master at LEDs so definitely something I want to get better at...
Yeah, a buddy of mine got it from someone and just asked me to paint it. No clue where it came from. I was definitely a good looking model.❤️ I wish I knew how to do 3D modeling. I feel like an old dog trying to learn a new trick.😬
Great question… I think they are actually working to take it to production. Not exactly sure what they are doing behind the scenes my buddy just asked me to paint it.😃
So him and a friend made the file. I’m not exactly sure what their plans are for it, I just thought it would be awesome to paint!😃 I think they were hoping to commercialize it at some point…🤷♂️
@@DRToysCreations that'd be awesome! It appears better than the current most detailed version I know of! I'd rather buy a set of files from them of that ever happens! Thanks for the reply!
May the 4th be with you, always.

Definitely looks like 3D my model but it's been recut and modified 😮

I don't suppose you know where your friend got the files to print this model?

@DR Toys - Custom Toys i had a 3d print of the razor crest and i was able to use a coke bottle and mold it. But this one seems more complicated.
