Adjusting the Red and Blue values is an awesome tip I've never seen anywhere else. An absolutely brilliant way of dialling in a 'correct' WB value before adjusting to taste. This will really help my consistency.
Isn't this standard white ballance? The real tips weren't even mention in the video: 1) Increase saturation to max value, then WB and then pull saturation down again. 2) Some image require selective WB using masks. E.g. the subject might need other values than the background.
This is one of the best tips videos I’ve seen. I’m shooting my 3rd ever wedding tomorrow and this is a game changer. I’ve been stressing about using AWB on my Images and them being all over the place in post
Great to hear Michael! Amy at northern presets told me and I was like WHAT IS THIS MAGIC?! Then I was surprised not many people were talking about it. I shoot 6k WB all day really as it suits my work but when there’s time to batch correct this is the perfect method
Hey! I actually mainly shoot at 5500k all day now then adjust in post when needed, because the z6ii tint slider on auto goes craaaaazy in lightroom! WB in video is just auto really, dependant on how orange the venue lights are but then again if they're constant I can usually kinda half fix it
@@PearceWeddingPhotography Thanks so much for taking the time to reply, much appreciated. I’ve got my first hybrid shoot in May, so other than actually buying some mics to capture some audio, I need to practice, and actually remember to do video clips on the day 🤣 Do you manage to get stills and video of the first kiss? I’m tempted to grab jpgs during video 🤔
I said tint, ignore that. It's the temp slider, i click on it then use the + and - keys to make sure the r and b values are within a % of each other :)

This is possibly the best tip I have ever seen on youtube. I've just run through some previous photos and it works perfectly.
Thank you Mark! I'm just filming another video now actually, I think I can make one where it's explained a bit better. Glad you enjoyed it!
best explanation and simplest I have seen. I have been shooting for 20 years and you just taught me something huge. Thank you.
Haha no worries!

This is a fantastic tip which I will use extensively in the future. Thank you.
No worries Malcolm
This is great. Now I know a technical way to adjust WB rather than what just looks right. Game changer!!
whoa, took me a few times of watching this to get it, but it's amazing. Thank you so much.
thank you!
First i thought it was boring
Then i look at how he do it
Awesome!
Very useful hack. Top 10! Thanks.
Mind absolutely blown
Slaps doesn’t it.
This deserves so many more views.
Really loved these tips James, quick question - why should we ignore the green percentages of the histogram?
Yo Jordan! Erm to be honest I don’t think the green values really matter I think
Great tip, thank you! Out of curiosity do you know if this is how the eye dropper white balance tool works or is it a different algorithm?
Please more videos like this. This is so simple and brilliant
Thank you! Will do!
Great tutorial! WB such a struggling for me. Loving your presets. Would you ever consider selling them?
Heya! Considering maybe later in the year….we will see!
And yea WB sucks but this method takes all the brain ache away for me for sure
@@PearceWeddingPhotography that would be awesome!!!!
you mentioned finishing off images in exposure alien skin - would be great to see what you do in that software
Hey yes of course!! I’ll make a video this weekend 🔥
INSANE tip!! 🎉 The video we’ve all been looking for 🤣
Really great tip!
Glad it was helpful!
Great tip! Do you know how to view those RGB percentages in Adobe Camera Raw (not Lightroom)? I can't seem to find the option :D
Heya! Just opened up camera raw and put my cursor over the raw photo and the rgb values are showing in my histogram :)
Great video. What do you hover over the white with?
My cursor :)
@@PearceWeddingPhotography when I double click on temp, nothing happens
You opened my eyes❤
Brilliant❤❤❤❤
Awesome tips here. You mention your shoot on 6000k and adjust in post. What wb do you shoot for video?

when do you move the 'tint' slider? or do you just concentrate on the R and B values?
I said tint, ignore that. It's the temp slider, i click on it then use the + and - keys to make sure the r and b values are within a % of each other :)
oh, the tint slider....I think that's subjective. I tend to leave it on whatever LR has made it unless the image looks green or purple
Do you sell your preset😍
Nope but maybe I should!
Subscribed ❤️
After combing through all these BS tips and tutorials that basically tell you to use AWB this is very helpful
Does it work the same in regular Lightroom?
Lightroom classic yes! Anything with a histogram
Yeah, well sometimes there’s a happy medium.
+/- temperature manual, is not a PRO method
Ok you do your "pro" method on 1000 photos 40 times a year
Why so much Unnecessary blabbering ??
Probably due to my having mixed type adhd. I tried to watch one of your videos but it appears you havent made any, weird!
