- In 2023, Maura Todd and her family lost nearly everything after a freight train pulling tons of toxic chemicals derailed near their town of East Palestine, Ohio.
And WHERE exactly were these people supposed to go!? This is disgusting
Exactly , I was just about to write that. This isn't the first time a train derailment caused people to lose everything , so very sad and frustrating .
It's an environmental catastrophe. Imagine this happening in NYC. 7 million people and our migrant population running. Oh man.
Nobody is going anywhere cause if they do, they miss out on the $600,000,000 settlement. Every individual in the city is getting $120,000-$80,000… nobody is sick, or going anywhere
The press left them with no coverage but now want to act like they care
Yeah and where were you Inside Edition right after??? Where was the coverage then that could have impacted them right after this happened. Where was any of the press??
As I recall, people noticed nothing was being done to help these people. Same with Maui...still don't know exactly what happened there either.

An ohio resident here…yes it was bad, but jt wasnt that bad. First of all, NO ONE DIED. Not a single death. Second of all, there were not even any reported injuries. It was a 1 mile radius that was cleared out around the wreckage…nothing too horrible. Dont know what this woman is on about.
I live right outside of these Palestine in fact I live close enough that I get $10,000 for the settlement that Norfolk Southern proposed. I don’t know anyone personally that was affected that live near the derailment a lot of beautiful homes for sale for dirt cheap
Yeah she was talking about how she has nightmares about the train, it was a life ruiner. And she's crying... Please she lived in a Small trailer park... She was fine.. her family was fine..

Do go blaming EVERY railroad company in the United States. But DO blame Norfolk Southern. From what ive heard, maintenance cutting caused one the tank cars axles to catch fire.
It is. See, it use to be “Conrail” which was a government started railroad back in the day. As soon as it was privatized by NS and CSX buying it, they picked the money instead of putting it up for maintenance which when it was purchased, was made aware of by Conrail. Greedy CEO’s. It’s that simple

You’re clearly not old enough to understand that moving means you have to find a place of equal value and close to family, as well as the safety of the area you’d be moving to, it’s not that easy to just pack up and move like that.
