Travis I am one that has said I don’t see how you keep track of anything with so many irons in the fire. With that said, I commend you on your candor and honesty in your frustration. That old adage we’ve all been there and done that applies. Yea it is frustrating. I am like you I like to do things once and not have to do anything over. Just got through a scenario myself like that. Hang in there keep your head up and one day at a time, if it don’t get done today, perhaps tomorrow it will.
Had same rear end problem... Changed gear lube with auto parts lube Kendall oil I think. Key was adding posi unit lube from GM Parts store. worked immediatly. lasted for years. Sold without issues. Love your channel because of your attention to detail and ability to explain... I have a factory 2002 Silverado 5.3L with interior mods from your channel and plan major Mods in the near future... Happy Motoring!!!
That’s a beautiful truck. There are different first gear sets for the 4l80e. I would not go to the 4:10 rear gears, unless you are swapping to a 6-speed automatic. I would just fix the G80, unless you are going to be adding big power in the future. If you are, I would go with a triangulated 4-link and a slightly narrowed Dana 60.
I know it's not your main forte but I would really love to see you build a 2014-19 4 door Chevy/GMC pickup. If that means selling the green truck that has already provided tons of youtube content, then me, being selfish, I say let it go. I was drawn to your channel because every vehicle I build, I have the same mentality that you do.. OEM+ and while you're in there, clean it to make it nicer. But that's just my 2 cents, which ain't much nowadays. Lol
I have 02 Chevrolet short bed but running 28s. 4L80E and 430 cubic inch LS and 102mm tdi turbo and run 4.10s with no issues. Overdrive gets those RPM down. But really it will never be about gas mileage lol.
Mine did that twice too me but if you drive past 30 or 40 mph it goes away they are known for that the G80. I running 373 on 275/45/20 and I turn 2,000 at 75 mph
I have a 2004 Chevy Silverado a 4.8 I watched your videos for inspiration, I did electric fans long tube headers custom cam 2600 converter and on the rear axle I did 4 11 gears from Yukon with their Dura grip and I love the 4 11 gears it really woke the truck up and I did the 4 11s before the custom cam and converter mine still has the 4l60

I'd keep it and as for thr 4L80e/410 combo I would stay 383. I'm at 3000rpm at 70mph with a 285/75/17 and I don't like it at all! I'm going 373 and 265/35/20.
Don’t sell it!!! Out of all the trucks, that’s YOUR truck. Just keep plugging away at it over time, upgrading things overtime until you get everything done right, and never sell that one.
