The Saudis have accumulated a lot of dollar debt since the drop in prices years ago. Higher prices means more petrodollars and they can repay dollar-debt faster.
I think that’s the whole point, this price hike occurred after the Russian foreign minister visit to the gulf. The EU wants to buy Saudi Asian’s market share to replace the Russian oil, SA made it clear they will sell it at a premium price and the EU will foot it’s shipping costs, while the EU is begging to buy it for India’s discounted price so it won’t affect “the global economy“, and if did follow though, Russia will sell discounted oil for India and the EU will end up with a higher price tag. My worry is with Africa, that's dependent on Saudi oil.. which oil everyone is scrambling for now, Europe and the USA the greatest endorsers of this war are being treated in a special way
Never liked Saudi Arabia on how they treat Asians from discrimination and hatred to trades and marketing. I hope it gets better for the relationship with Russians and other Asian countries who has been depending on Saudi Arabia for oil.
It simply raises inflation in Asian countries which in turn Asian countries will move for Russian oils and European countries will get more oil to purchase. Ending up with economical and political complications.
Here is my theory, the problem started when the US demanded the EU to sanction Russian oil on the promise of a cheaper alternative that’s being the GCC. The EU sanctioned but the GCC refused US calls for oil increase, recently the EU proposed to allocate the Saudis Asian oil share to the EU and Russian oil will make it up there, SA made it clear that Europe will pay for it at a premium price and will foot the shipping and logistics fees themselves, while Europe wants to pay the same cheap price given to India. That way Russia can sell India oil at a cheaper price and the US can’t complain why they’re buying it at the first place. I’m sure it’s a tactic between both SA and Russia to break the EU.
Do all asian countries have refineries to process russian oil? I am asking coz russian oil are little different than the one from midle East and require different type of refineries...
I would rather buy oil from Russia than Saudi Arabia. We are really being squeezed here in the US with gas prices above $5 a gallon, skyrocketing grocery prices, and cost of living. I'm tired of giving billions of dollars to Ukraine, and taking sides. It's sad that our President is handling this so poorly. As for India, I think they should start drilling in their own country for oil for less dependence on foreign oil. It's going to get really hard for India if they don't become more self-reliant. It's no joke supporting such a HUGE population. The size of the population is really what's dragging India down, where two-thirds of the people are poor and not paying any taxes; simply being a burden on the government.
I am also from USA oblast comrade, and I also am tired of taking sides and paying tax for zelensky. Excuse me while I go ride my horse and shoot my gun.
Hello Monica, as an Indian I thank you for our concern. Indians do not hold any beef wirh Americans but the American govt. Our population may be large but we would have grown faster had US foreign policy not been hostile towards India. (1970-1992) Secondly India is not blessed wirh national reserve nor dollar bullying power of USA. We simply can dig all over our county and still we wont find oil. If we had oil, your govt would have invaded us long back. Finally, on a positive note, the fertility rate of India is down to 2.0, this means the population has stabilised. The future shouldn't be of worry unless the west decides to wage war in South China Sea and call upon ww3. If that happens India will get sucked into this death vortex and the nation will suffer badly. Americans can sit thousand of miles away and watch from the comfort of their homes, safe.
US is experiencing high inflation rates as they printed huge amount of notes last year and still doing it. To make it less visible, they had to keep dollar strong with respect to other currencies, which can done by high crude oil prices. India don't have much oil reserves, to be self reliant, India needs to move away from oil. Every Indian pays taxes in the form of VAT and GST, and we don't consider our people burden but they are our assets. They are the ones who contribute to household consumption for different industries. Palki you forgot to mention US is now a net exporter of crude oil, so the prices set by the Saudis most likely doesn't effect them, I think the pricing of oil in the American Basket (regions of the Americas) depends on the quantities of reserves in the US. Correct me if I am wrong, but selective reporting of news omitting key info is also wrong.
Yeah us is a net exporter , means it also imports a lot of oil so the price hike would have affected them They exported 8.6 mn barrels while importing 8.4 million barrels. So the question is why no price hike for them ? And other nations are not allowed to buy from venezuela and iran
I agree that US is very recently becomes net oil exporter but that export is for EU on basis of relatively cheaper imports from Saudis so in a way it helps no matter how little those differences are @ today's prices. Keep in mind those exports are aimed at EU so that EU can get away from Russian oil. But if that happens this will only make Saudis oil more expensive in general and more so for Asia.

India is always at the recieving end of oil shortage and because it is is directly proportional to the price of food, changes in oil prices can have a big impact on a population as big as 1.2 Billion. On the other hand, India is blessed with ample solar power. That is because of problems with the dollar itself and internal money supply, as well as the EU paying for gas in non-dollars. The petrodollar's principle function is to export inflation, and it is in trouble as is the USD and US bond markets. The Fed is in a panic, but unless it were to cause a MAJOR hike in interest rates to control inflation which would collapse the economy and cause further problems in bond markets, it can't do anything. The Fed is also unloading its bonds and MBS on ledger (meaning that they are being monetized) which will cause further problems. There is not enough external demand to mop up the bonds.

Pardon, what means GCC?

Secondly India is not blessed wirh national reserve nor dollar bullying power of USA.

On the other hand, India is blessed with ample solar power. Coupled with battery technology and in this situation, India should even look at cooperation with China, India can be a green energy exporter. The solar panels and thermal generators can directly generate DC voltage to charge the batteries that can drive our vehicles, homes and industries. Only then will this oil situation be more in India's control.

I salute the Indian govt's decision to double oil imports from Russia .
I support the US's decision to not come to India's aid if China attacks. India should remove itself from the Quad.

< I totally agree with what you are saying....The fact is, BTC is the future of crypto and the questions traders ask themselves now if this is right time to invest? before jumping into conclusion i think you should take a look at things first. for the past few days the price of BTC has been fluctuating which means the market is currently unstable and you cant tell if it is going bearish or bullish. while others still continue to trade without the fear of making lose, others are being patient. it all depends on the pattern with which you trade and also the source of your signals. i would say trading has been going smoothly for me, i started with 2.5BTC and i have accumulated over 15BTC in just three weeks, with the trading strategy given to me by expert David Ribeiro
Though WhatsApp
easy but expert David Ribeiro made it possible by sharing his strategy and insight on trading.
I've heard a lot about same person not long ago please how do I start
I basically didn't know much about Crypto before I met David Ribeiro, now I can navigate the market myself
Gas went up $.20 here in the United States. Today! We are paying.
There is not enough external demand to mop up the bonds.
asia should buy from russia. from russia you can buy gas and oil at the lowest prices. not just petrol.
Stop saying that USA is not paying price. The fuel price has gone up by 50-60% in US. A gallon which was around 3.2 or 3.3 is now near 5 USD. All daily groceries price has sky rocketed. It's not special treatment for anybody. Yes I am an Indian and I live in US. If Indian govt can't bargain a good deal out of Saudi then it is nobody's fault. It's Indian govt's fault. Its a business: the better you deal, sweeter fruit you get. You know only tiny fraction of the complicated, dynamic story and try to impose your views on the world. Don't do that since you say you believe in unbiased reporting. Peace.
Indian govt got deal with Russia. Everyone has a choice in picking friends.

Leave the US 🇺🇸 out of this. They didn't hike the price. Complain to Saudi Arabia and Leave the US
They pushed Asia towards Russia more😂. I wonder what a foolish move or it was planned 🤔
This matter must be taken to WTO....and similar action must taken in response the commodities they are buying from world....
