It was confirmed to be in the same universe as Paul Blart: Mall Cop and The Simpsons I can't wait for Paul Blart: Mall Cop 3 where Paul Blart singlehandedly saves all of new york from Brightburn. It would finally end Paul's character arc
Brandon would fly full speed at Paul, paul would stop Brandon with his pinky finger, paul then flicks Brandon and he gets flung back breaking multiple mountains from the impact of Paul blart’s flick. Brandon gets up with his eyes glowing red, he’s getting angry, Paul realizes that Brandon’s power has increased significantly, Paul starts using his whole hand instead of his pinky, he grabs Brandon’s hand and crushes it, Brandon shoots giant powerful lasers at Paul, paul uses both of his hands this time, and blocks the laser. @Ed Carone III Its not like he was flying around like a brainwashed zombie...he already felt superior and showed it when he crushed the girl's hand. I got the impression he was generally a good kid, thanks to his decent parents and their moral code and so on that they raised him with. But then the ship starts to kind of warp him, without him being able to do anything about it. You even see him trying to fight it in some scenes, even though he clearly gives in to this mind control or whatever it is. I also liked that it was never made clear how and why the ship was making him this way. Maybe some aliens on some other planet are sending out these kids to planets across the universe, to kind of kill the dominant life forms on the planet so they can move in or something. And the kids are like genetically modified by the aliens, with brain implants or something that the aliens tap into with some hidden signal that goes through the ship. Or maybe the ship is somehow alive, and is part of the kid. I don't know. And I like that I don't know. Not all films need to explain themselves. Like Joker; made all the better for the fact that you don't know if what you saw even really happened or not, or if it's the real Joker, or if it's just part of this looney guys daydreams in arkham asylum or something. Brilliantly done.
joker was clearly real, from the moment he killed the doctor on the asylum it proved he had gone through all of that, don't matter what kind of psycho someone is, murdering is not an easy everyday thing to pull of both in mind and physically, if none of the movie happened he couldn't easily kill the doctor, that would be his first kill and you see on the movie how dramatic even for him a first kill is, it has to have a meaning, especially if you have a psycho persona inside like joker, he has his signature, which he clearly pull at the end, well still people may argue about but to me all analysis i've made while watching it, point me to it being real in the movie universe not just a delusion but this kind of approach to make us think sure is awesome and interesting.
@@erwinamanciosilva7693 I never meant to say he wasn't a violent psychopath. But is he the Joker, arch nemesis to batman? Did he do the things we saw in the movie up to the point where he is talking to the doctor? Or did he do very different, but still violent and murderous, things to get put in arkham? That's what makes Joker great; you can take it however you want. Pay attention to the clocks that you see in scenes throughout the movie; they are all set to the same exact time. The time that is displayed on the clock on the wall of the doctor at the end.

@@angelo423 Ha! I totally missed that. Great Easter egg. So the question is since they have all these Justice League analogs does that make the Crimson Bolt this universe’s Batman?
1. Bees are the humans (or any other living civilization in the universe) who live in a hive ( i.e. planets), whereas, wasps (esp. parasitic wasps) are the super-powered alien beings (like Brandon) whom invade other hives (planets) to propagate themselves. 2. On May 24th, 2006: There were six comets that were seen above Brightburn, Kansas; one of them landed on the woods near Breyer's farm. The crashed spaceship seems to be programmed to broadcast a code that translates to "Take the World" when the designated occupant of the spaceship (i.e. Brandon) grows through puberty on Earth. Hence, Brandon manifestation of his powers throughout the movie at 12 years of age: high intelligence, super strength, super speed, laser vision, and flight. 3. The five other comets could be spaceships send towards different planets or to five different locations on Earth. Their occupants could have similar powers like Brandon with the same goal of world domination through inter-species breeding. This is hinted several times when Brandon becomes infatuated with Caitlyn (the flowers and the music). 4. The end credit scene shows a conspiracy theorist talking about other super-powered beings on Earth; which include the evil version of Aquaman (somewhere in the South China Sea), Wonder Woman (the witch woman that chokes people to death with ropes and cords), and three other pictures of unexplained beings (most likely the evil version of batman/martian manhunter, flash, and cyborg) in the guy's video.

the entire movie is a deconstruction of psychopathy. Notice how BB exhibits pretty much every psychopathic trait, some even before his "awakening". It's the parents who are too blind to admit their "child" has issues. The fascination with blood and gore, compulsive lying, impulsiveness, risk-taking, lack of remorse and empathy, and so on. And they only get turned up to 11 after he flips. You can even see some traditional tropes associated with psychopathy, like performing sections on dead things to study their anatomy - usually we see it done on rats and cats, but here BB is perfectly capable of graduating straight to humans.
Forty2Times ik this is a joke but I’m hoping they are going to make a negative universe like in the comics where there is and evil Superman, a Batman who laughed, etc
Little comic fact just like the lantern there’s different colors like yellow and red etc there’s one kryptonite where he can lose his powers it the black kryptonite and etc so just saying the more u know
Evil kids never die in movies, the parent will try to kill them and something weird happens where they die instead; at the end the kid is looking all innocent and no one suspects anything because they’re just kids
The message from his ship was "Take the world" that's not from superman, his parents were good. It's from Dragonball, Goku was sent to earth to conquer it.
I think this is definitely a stand alone origin movie. It's just about the idea that a kid that is just as strong as Superman ended up turning evil, which is pretty terrifying. The ship activated at his age and awakened his programming for the reason he was sent to Earth- to take control of it. We never find out why though.
Bright burn actually reminds me of that short dc horror comic where Superman is evil but right when he lands he just goes on a rampage Ps: cough cough maybe a Godzilla video cough cough
I love this movie so much because I always felt like it was a metaphor for parents not acknowledging their children's behavioral issues and possible underlying mental conditions
I feel like a big part of the “horror” aspect relies on that fear of having uncontrollable kids or the fear of “something went wrong” it’s said to be a parent’s nightmare for their children to end up in jail or become a wicked person
Also I loved this movie! They totally did the the "realistic" take on what would happen if superman slammed right into you with the cop exploding when BB flew into him I loved it!
What would she do to him though? The only thing that can hurt him is his own ship, and that was lost in the plane crash at the end. So yeah there's literally NOTHING she could do to him.
@@unavailable7150 the robo arm could be made of the metal from the ship.. After he shows his crush his ship Idk throwing ideas let's start a fund me for brightburn 2
Why ? shes got a Robo arm not a robo body the rest of her would still be squidgy human and s-l-o-w compared to Brandon. This is the problem with a lot of these "Hero" type films the main characters tend to change one thing (like a robo arm) and they are then a super powered super human when they really wouldnt be.
We really need a movie where the main character is like the antithesis to Brightburn. And sequel movie where they fight. Kind of like how Unbreakable, Split, and Glass were all connected.
"Brightburn is a sequel." Now let me explain how Damien is evil for 80% of the movie, barely explain what actually happens, and say that an easter egg is defining proof that it's a sequel to said easter egg without any other proof whatsoever.
I loved Brightburn. If you're a fan of horror, you should've enjoyed it. I'm not a comic book fan but I loved Man of Steel and other past Superman adaptations. It was an action packed gory spin on the story.

The movie Hancock is connected to this. They need a crossover where the kid meets Hancock and Hancock bends the kid over and starts whooping his ass telling him he needs to be a good boy.
He wouldn't survive all the kid has to do is kill the girl Hancock likes and he dies with her cause there both linked and the bright burn kid is immortal and has lazer eyes

Two questions about the plane crash coverup.... 1. There was still documented police calls and radio calls made before the plane crash. Also the two police cars would’ve been among the wreckage which wouldn’t make sense. 2. During FBI investigation of the crash site they would be bound to find the spaceship right? Unless he moves it.

Sequel In May 2019, director David Yarovesky stated that upon the film potentially being a success, the universe of Brightburn would be expanded upon. In a later interview with Collider, Yarovesky confirmed that the film's credits making reference to a half-man/half-sea creature terrorizing the seas, Rainn Wilson's character Frank Darbo / The Crimson Bolt from Super, and a powerful witch who chokes her victims with a rope was intended to set up a sequel, in addition noting that an alternate ending to the film featured Emmie Hunter's "Caitlyn-[ending] with her in a lab fastening a robot arm on her broken arm, and her just pissed off", as well as mentioning "tons" of other such endings as having been discussed, as well as stating that "[i]f we were to expand the Brightburn universe in other installments and in other ways, we would probably be doing it in the exact same way, in total secrecy and then drop a cinematic trailer at some point that kind of teases what that new direction may be". In June 2019, producer James Gunn stated that discussion of the sequel was happening, but he was busy writing and directing The Suicide Squad and Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3. In August 2019, actor Jackson A. Dunn stated in an interview with Screen Rant that he would be interested in reprising his role as Brandon Breyer. In addition, Dunn said that he would like that future films cast up-and-coming actors in the lead roles
In other words: Crimson Bolt was gonna be Batman. The Sea Monster guy was gonna be Aquaman. The witch woman was gonna be Wonder Woman. Caitlyn was gonna be Metallo.
3:50 that's not true. The moment the ship activated (as well as Brandon's puberty), that is when he started to change. Notice how he writes the BB symbol in blue at first (he is still a good kid), but as the ship speaks to him and influences him with the signal it is sending out, he starts to overwrite the blue BB with red, until it is all red. If the parents didn't bring the ship back with them, Brandon might have never turned evil.. or at least the calling would have provoked him to run away and find the ship.

He isn't just naturally evil. He changed after the ship started talking to him.
He is naturally evil if the ship he came from told him what he was born to do
@@Mr55556d Yea but if the ship hadn't been there he would have still acted like his normal self so that's technically his natural state when not being brainwashed by some sort of alien technology
@@stevenfriedman2902 true
He isn't really evil, he's just superior. When we wipe out forests because we consider animals "less important " than us "superior" humans, it isn't out of evil intentions, its just what superior species do and this is what Brandon is doing. he is just following his destiny
@Ed Carone III Its not like he was flying around like a brainwashed zombie...he already felt superior and showed it when he crushed the girl's hand. When he made out that the ship was saying "TAKE THE WORLD", he was like "Sweet! green light for total destruction and chaos". then again, this is just my interpretation, I can't prove or disprove it and I don't care either because this movie was AMAZING and far surpassed my expectations...he is basically Homelander
He’s from krypton but yes What you said the aliens probably envaded krypton and did something I don’t know but I’m going with your theory

Actually the term for that, is "Serial Killer"
the entire movie is a deconstruction of psychopathy.

In May 2019, director David Yarovesky stated that upon the film potentially being a success, the universe of Brightburn would be expanded upon.

@@themlh7037 that's what Kim Jong-un wants you to think.
As soon as I saw the movie I said "I guess Roy moved on from Pam."
That Alpha M reference is just dope. That channel is one of the best! It changed my whole lifestyle.
Been waiting for you to talk a out this movie 🤗
This is just James Gunn's version of Superboy Prime in DC Comics.
Actually its his take on ultraman the evil alternate universe superman not online troll superboy prime.
@@Navrozs I would go with an if not " evil " Superman story but a amoral alien raised by moon shiners who have to kill from time to time to keep the family business safe and quiet.
" For a Business to run and turn a profit, there must be loyalty, like " family " loyalty. So who wants to join the " family " business ? "
But " Bright Burn " is meant to be a " Horror " movie.
3:52 - He isn't "just evil". The spaceship turns him evil. I think that was a TERRIBLE idea, but that is what happened. I think he should have just gotten darker and darker as he realized that he could do things nobody else could do (more like Chronicle).
I remember seeing this in theaters, enjoying it and I was so sad when nothing else came of it, they unfortunately set up a series that just never happened. Here's hoping maybe they'll still make a sequel eventually but I doubt it
Brightburn is also like if goku never hit his head and destroyed the world for the sayians
Or a Superman that's been raised by the devil.
@@notgalvatron1698 way better!!
Er boro I know, but it still be interesting if goku was evil
The Guy from the movie Super going to forge a pipe wrench from the Brandon space ship and take him out....hes the hero we need.
Shut up, crime!!!
Every time you played the fork eating scene my teeth started aching
There wasn’t an event that made him evil I agree. He was just made that way. The ship talked to him and gave him the message. But I think the girl and his uncle were incidents where there was a small event that made him act out. He was trying to fight it at first but he got mad. The girl cause she outed him for sneaking her room. Her mom as well. And the uncle said he was taking him home.
They should stick with the ending of the girl seeking revenge! That would've been awesome!
Yeah! She could be like a version of metallo
Now Brandon's parent are gone. You think Caitlyn will be his last conscious to humanity after Brandon done with puberty and such.
She may be the one to defeat him if there is a sequel or a series of movies
Owlman,
The Seaking,
Ultraman,
Super Woman (Temptress), Power Ring,
Johnny Quick,
Grid.
He was sent to earth to destroy humanity to pave the way for his species (just like the wasp in the beehive), I always loved that little hint.
