  • Sprinting requires a delicate balance between starting acceleration and maximum speed, with delayed acceleration often resulting in better overall performance.

Greene is my idol. His running looks very crazy and aggressive, but actually he runs a very, very balanced race. He says he wants to run a perfect race, but he's never run that race, maybe in the 2001 Edmonton final he will, but you know what happened. I would be very happy if you make a video about Maurice. People don't know him much, he's a great guy and we can all learn a lot from him about sprinting and life. In my channel I uploaded several videos with Maurice that you can't see on other TH-cam channels...

When you really think about sprinters speed it's just a small gap between them for all elith sprinters anchor leg times bolt 8.65 asafa 8.68 that's just 0.03 hundreds of a second difference and I am sure bolt and asafa average higher speed that 44.72 kmh by those anchor legs times

This video is about Ben Johnson's start and the approach of his coach. However, Charlie was not a fan of the idea of delaying acceleration, as he explained many times on his forum...

Is this narrator implying that Su's fast start is responsible for his low top speed? Because that's all due to his short height...

I would possibly add Bob Hayes as well. He run 10 flat on an almost muddy no1 inner track close to the grass there 3000 metres steeplechase was run just before him in 1964. Powerful athlete.

@@ABC-dw7pe Ok. But regardless of the difference in possible results, the difference on the tracks from Bob Hayes to Ben Johnson and from Ben Johnson to Today, the evolution between Bobs track and Bens track is way grater than the latter. Also consider the the crappy circumstances Bob had. But anyhow Im just guessing. I ran on those old cinder tracks and it was a whole different thing.
