    Hi. I've always struggled with watery jam, I can't wait to try this one out. And sieving puree mixed with seeds.
    Thanks

    Lol great minds Tim! We just bought some stainless steel funnels that sit on the jars, I find filling the jars the most frustrating part of the process

      Yeah I agree. Ended up using a chopstick to help push it through because it was cooling and hardening so fast :) Will buy some better kitchen utensils soon.

    We have to keep in fridge or keep out of it?

      If you use proper canning techniques it should keep in pantry for many months. Once opened always refrigerate.

    Hello. I'd like to try your recipe. On the time mark 10:33, it looks like it has more liquid. Did you add water to it? Thank you.

      No water, that's all sugar dissolving and the liquid in the guava's being extracted. It bubbles up a lot in the beginning and then simmers back down as sugar caramelises and moisture evaporates. Good luck making it 😀

    I thought you will remove the guava chunks before packing. Please is the sugar equal measurement with the the guava . What is the recommended formular of sugar to pulp.

    • @mytropicalfruitforestlife
      @mytropicalfruitforestlife  ปีที่แล้ว

      I like the chunks in my jam. You can blend them smooth if you like. If your guava is sweet, measure 2 part Guava to 1 part sugar. Good luck :)

    Is it better to cook from green hard guava or wait until they become softer? Doing this first time and got green hard white guava .

    • @mytropicalfruitforestlife
      @mytropicalfruitforestlife  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The more ripe guava gets, the more sugars and flavour they have. So best wait till they become at least semi soft. Good luck :)

    Can I keep the seeds in ? I prefer to use all the parts of the fruit

    • @mytropicalfruitforestlife
      @mytropicalfruitforestlife  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes you can, just note some seeds will remain hard so can be uncomfortable biting into them when you think of soft jam.
