My best advice is to work on ear training as much as possible, transcribe your favorite music and try to use what you learn from your transcriptions

@@_buttonmasher all i do with my piano is just play my favourite songs but I don't write down the notes, I just try to directly play it out on the piano. Also is learning music theory necessary?
