Definetly agree with the little by little with peonies, however you did very well to get such big rooted ones for that price!
I've put a few in each year for the last 4 years.....hoping this will be the spring that gives me a bit of a show. However, they seem to be a long term investment. I get good frosts, but I do think our spring heats up to quickly for them here in SE Qld. Time will tell. Hope yours do well💐👍

I agree the price and quality of the peonies is excellent. Just a big investment. I was told the early varieties and plant shallower for the best results in warmer climates. It will be such a joy to eventually get to enjoy armfuls of flowers. The few that flowered in the first year had the most amazing scent.

You weren't kidding about the substantial roots from Gateforth. Wish i knew this earlier. I received only thumb-sized roots for the same price from one of the big online suppliers! Will take your advice for future purchases.

I did the same! I should do a comparison in spring of my second yr small box store plants compared to my First year Gateforth peony plants.

WOW🤩I'm a bit jealous . I had bought a few from Bunnings last year but most did not do well however they were only 5 dollars each. Might need to look up that place in Tassie and order a few. 💮💐🌸

Thankyou, this is my second year purchasing from them. You always have to sing the praises of business that excel, and I imagine it would be a lot of hard work.

We are in a colder part of Australia - equivalent to an 8a/b American cold hardiness zone. We get frost down to -6 degrees C. Sometimes we get snow!
