I just remembered my name is John! Where have I been all my life! I better call up Lou Reed and see if he's ok. Good night...
?
Rip Fez… damn makes me wanna cry… I miss Ron and fez so much. I grew up listening to that crazy shit with my dad on long road trips.
Hey Budday
What's got ya locked up today?
I listen to this when I miss Fez. Hope you guys have a beautiful day. 😢
❤❤❤❤❤
Love ya buddy.
Have a beautiful life!

David Bowies contribution on back ups... inspiring and powerful over Lou's poetry.
Todd, yes perfect unity of two individually unique voices. Love those high notes Bowie does at the end. So glad they worked together on such an amazing album, we are so lucky to have had them both.
I love playing this together with Gimme Shelter since both songs are elevated to masterpiece level by the backing vocals.
Todd Foster
That's a real good producer, along with Mick Ronson.
Hell yea man... i just watched the segment "classic albums" and Transformer was last nights....it was soo cool seeing old interviews with Bowie talkin about the production of this masterpiece and also hearing what the studio musicians who worked on this record had to say.. It was definitely one of the best episodes of that program..up there with The Doors and their self-titled debut.
@whocaress no who cares? Its Bowie doing back up on this song. ohhhhhhhhh ohhhh ohhhhhh
RIP Fez!
I will never stop missing Lou, Joey and Lemmy. Where they went must have one helluva band.
Framing Lou's quavering vocal inside David Bowie's backing vocal track was a genius stroke. This pairing of gifted artists gave us an enduring classic.
Most of his best work coincided with his spell working with Bowie.
David Bowie and the Thunderthighs!

Two very distinctive and unique vocalists. We will never hear anything like them again.
R.I.P Fez
Such a great song. The type that will still sound cool 500 years from now.
This record was David's favour for the man who inspired him back in the start of his career (:
what a payback, actually the only Lou song I like.
He wasn't really inspired that much by Lou Reed, but a lot of people said he was, so then he adopted that and pretended he was, but really he wasn't particularly. It was after he started pretending that he was and talking about Lou he thought he better actually have more of a listen to him!
@@linden5165 sweet bullshit
@@linden5165 David had the acetate of the first VU record before it was released, he was definitely inspired but not by Lou specifically.
@@linden5165 He was one of the first to cover I'm Waiting for The Man all the way in 1966

Surely the greatest outro to a Lou Reed song.
This or Sad Song from the Berlin album
Satallie AWHOOOOO
Reed, Bowie and Ronson ,,, this song makes life better ❤
I like to watch things on TV
Everything about this tune is exquisite. All parties involved need to be acknowledged, but this is Lou's tune first and foremost. Bowie and Ronson enhanced it, elevated it to another level, but Lou is the core of it, and I think David and Mick knew this too.
Makes me think of Ron and Fez.
Pure art
What a combo Lou, David and Mick RIP bless them
Fezzy🥺🥺

Nothing more sexy . Bowie + Reed.🎉
Honestly there is nothing better than Lou Reed, I got really into his music when I was a teenager, my music producer friend lent me his best of Lou reed and the velvet underground Cd, it became the soundtrack to many of high school parties, nights and all sorts of other things teenagers get up to, thank you Lou for being there with us, I wanna throw my friend some love while I'm here, try searching Lonely Gimmick - All Along the Watchtower, it's a great take on a classic standard and he's recorded it all himself on his laptop, i think he's got some serious talent and deserves more recognition
Bach, Beethoven, Mozart, Vivaldi, Schubert.
Honestly there i nothing better than him FOR YOU.
I love Reed but we can't compare this music with the masterpieces of the classical.
@@leonardocasalini9261 I’d rather listen to Lou for hours on end instead of that stuck up high classed meaningless shite we’re all taught we’re supposed to like.

This is one of my many favorite songs by lou Reed . Dig Bowie doing the most amazing melt down backing vocals all up in the foreground. Simply genius. What an amazing ending.
We miss you Louuuuuuuu
the lifting tune - and david bowie's sublime production - make it easy to forget that this is actually a song about serial infidelity and the pain it can cause.

I saw U2 play this song in Toronto, while Lou Reed sang the vocals live in Rome - via satellite. A wall of monitors onstage displayed a composite close-up of Reed's face while he sang, so we were actually watching him on TV as he was singing, "I like to watch things on TV." So self-referential... U2 were fantastic!
RIP Fez Marie Whatley
why this song is soooo good??!!!!! its like every part of it give me chills.
David Bowie is singing the background parts. Mick Ronson co produced the album.

First reed album I bought.this song is my fave but whole album is great.
Nothing compares to Lou Reed.
My favorite song from Transformer.
This music make me feel how the tecnologies advanced along the years until now. Great song.
Ringrazio mio padre per avermi fatto conoscere il disco, facevo le elementari. Poi è stato un caposaldo della mia vita. E anche Lou.
Grazie, Lou.
Lou Reed is amazing!
Satellite is fantastic in all of its incarnations. The demo version that Lou recorded with the VU is great in its punky earnestness. But this version! OMG! Bowie and Mick Ronson take this satellite well above the stratosphere. And Bowie's yowling crooning at the end is the cherry on a most delicious cake.
That jealousy can be a killer. Before you know it you've driven your partner into being bold with every Harry, Mark, and John.
Greetings from the Satellite of Love 😌 I'm Joel Robinson and these are my robot companions.. Crow and Tom Servo
Oop! The mads are calling!
+Go Away: "Just repeat to yourself 'It's just a show, I should really just relax'"
from wiki - some insight as to just how much credit to Ronno is due - Mick Ronson (who was at the time the lead guitarist with Bowie's band, the Spiders from Mars) played a major role in the recording of the album at Trident Studios, London, serving as the co-producer and primary session musician (contributing guitar, piano, recorder and backing vocals), as well as arranger, contributing the string arrangement for "Perfect Day". Reed lauded Ronson's contribution in the Transformer episode of the documentary series Classic Albums, praising the beauty of his work and keeping down the vocal to highlight the strings. The songs on the album are now among Reed's best-known works, including "Walk on the Wild Side", "Perfect Day" and "Satellite of Love", and the album's commercial success elevated him from cult status to become an international star.
His best song 😀
He's our satellite of love now but probably sad that a perfect day is already ruined by a commercial
+Jack de Wilde I don't think so !!

You do know that Venus in Furs was used to advertise car tyres, don't you?
I love 2:25 up to the end of the song. So awesome. I can picture myself snapping my fingers along with other people doing the same thing while I'm leading the Choir group.
It's actually all david bowie singing just dubbed over. It's so good
