- Part 3 where once the piston is fitted, then the crank and piston assembly is fitted to the cylinder. Once the end cap is in place all is installed in the subframe.

One Note that can save you from going crazy. If the rings are put on upside down then the piston will install partially into the barrel but the rings cannot fully compress as they enter the tapered portion on the barrel. The ring ends will hit the stop pins on the piston and block you from installing. I had the lower ring wrong and it took me a while to figure it out.

Put the sealer on and short bolts until sealer sets , then remove the bolts and fit the entire unit

A taper is a smooth transition from a large diameter to a smaller one. This squashes the rings as the piston is pushed into the bore, cheers

Hi, I see where you are coming from, it looks like tile sealant but is commercial engine grade RTV, you can get it in these big tubes from general auto factors and is much cheaper than those little tubes. Cheers
