    Love your upgrades. Never seen the black Stellar, it looks very good. I just bought a 6 month old fireball Yellow.
    Look forward to more videos.

      Thanks, Mark. We've got a few more coming up on the meteor, one in the next few days.

    I had an 2005 Electra X 500 and currently a 2018 Classic 500, I changed the sprocket on both, up 1 tooth and I think I could have gone 2, gives a decent top speed before rev limiter cuts in, and exhaust change. Pulls like buggery now ! Also I think how you run it in can make a big difference, give it some stick from day one.

    Hi Dave, enjoyed the video! Could I ask where you got those small pannier rails? I think they look great and I can’t find them anywhere. Thanks :)

      @MotorcycleFettlers  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi. I think what you're seeing is not a pannier rail. It's a grab rail that I added to one side, when I took off the back-rest. It's from a Honda but, unfortunately, I do not know the model. It's a great fit and is a useful grab rail and make it easier to get it on the centre stand.

    I would like to know where you got the LED bulb and the grab rails by the rear seat !

      Hi. We pinned a comment on our headlight video th-cam.com/video/tczNG_72wdE/w-d-xo.html which details where we bought the LED bulb. We got the grab rail from a friend. We know it's off an old Honda but that's all we know. We'd love to know what model it's from as it's just right for the Meteor, as you'll see from our Touring Seat video th-cam.com/video/z7EI83y9i84/w-d-xo.html. Good luck, let us know if you find one!

      Sorry -- didn't see your bulb replacement video until too late. Naturally after your endorsement - ebay has sold out - such is the power of your videos.
      You might be interested in looking at fitting a Fuelx system - I found it made a difference.

    I see a lot of owners who have done DNA filter change use the x-lite to remap is this necessary.

    • @MotorcycleFettlers
      @MotorcycleFettlers  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Walter. I’m not familiar with x-lite. I did Google it but I only found crash helmets. You do not need to remap for the DNA filter, you just need to let it idle for 10 minutes to allow the ECU to do its thing. The only ECU mods that I’m aware of is Brazil, only.

      @@MotorcycleFettlers to be honest it's so easy to do, even if you don't like it, tho I can't see why you wouldn't, you can refit the original, certainly works well with the dna performance air filter. 👍🏻

      @@MotorcycleFettlers don't decat, I've actually cut open the cat box and there's just a metal tube with metal sieve, it's a gimmick and doesn't restrict any gas flow.

    How did you change the rear silencer muffler? as far as I know the stock silencer is a one-piece system, manifold, catalytic converter and muffler all welded together.

    I really like this bike, but the lack of top end is the only thing holding me back because I'd want to do some motorway trips on it. With these mods would you say it could comfortably cruise at motorway speeds?

    • @MotorcycleFettlers
      @MotorcycleFettlers  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      The top end will never set the world alight. Although I’ve not taken it on the motorway yet, I think I would be more comfortable with these mods.

    Hi, I also fitted this silencer, but mine makes a terrible noise. I don't understand why, without having removed the db killer, it makes a very metallic and very loud noise, as if the silencer wasn't there.

    • @MotorcycleFettlers
      @MotorcycleFettlers  ปีที่แล้ว

      I'll check next time I'm in the shed but I don't think that mine has a removable baffle, so I'm not convinced that you have the same silencer? For me, the sound was not that much different.

    • @alexfolual9235
      @alexfolual9235 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@MotorcycleFettlers Yes, the silencer is the same one purchased from Hitchcocks Motorcycles, in my opinion there is something wrong with it

    Hi, my Meteor has done just 500 miles was wondering if you thought what sort of mileage was a safe number to change the air filter and silencer , cheers

    • @MotorcycleFettlers
      @MotorcycleFettlers  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Andy, thanks for the comment. I started making these changes once the bike had it's first service. I think it's worth getting that done first. I had no concerns raised by my dealer regarding service / warranty with these changes, in fact, it was the dealer who suggested some of these options. Of course, all dealers will vary, so you may want to check first.

    • @RockDinosaur695
      @RockDinosaur695 ปีที่แล้ว

      Do you think it makes any difference which way round you do it, maybe silencer first, then the air filter later also if you did do the silence first do you need to let it idle for a while or is that just with the air filter upgrade, cheers.

    • @MotorcycleFettlers
      @MotorcycleFettlers  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Andy. I wouldn't do the Sproket first. I did - Air Filter, Sprocket, Silencer. I don't know if it needs to idle after the Silencer but I guess it can't hurt. In a couple of days, we'll be publishing our first Meteor ride out which contains some comparisons to the standard Meteor, so be sure to look out for it.

    as a Indian I want to know how good is the build quality of RE bikes there in your country. RE has big quality issues here. many parts rust. handlebar and chassis joining point breaks apart too. Frequent price increase. RE is selling emotions in our country. I know RE has a big fan base but its going to loose them.

    • @MotorcycleFettlers
      @MotorcycleFettlers  ปีที่แล้ว

      The quality of my Meteor seems to be ok and I have spoken with other Meteor owners and they are very pleased. The one issue is the balance box/cat as this does rust easily, apparently, but we put salt on our roads and, if not cleaned properly, one would imagine the bike would rust very quickly.

      @@MotorcycleFettlers Newer Meteors like mine don't have the black painted Cat box underneath. The exhaust now almost looks like a straight pipe with the Cat in the middle section.

    Are these streetlegal? Thinking about doing some mods.

    • @MotorcycleFettlers
      @MotorcycleFettlers  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Without prejudice...I have no reason to believe that they are not. The exhaust is genuine RE and I'm not aware that it is not for street purposes and it is certainly not loud. I'm not aware of any legal issues over air filters or sprockets. Of course, you should do your own research and you should inform your insurance company of any modifications.
