      Unfortunately I didn't have the luxury of a test ride before I bought mine but I was confident I'd like it and I was right ! Just such a simple, delightful and intuitive ( I think that last word sums it up best ) bike to ride which delivers simple, relaxed riding pleasure. It's so effortless to ride that you just have more mental capacity left over to really enjoy what you are currently doing. And THAT is why I ride motorcycles. For that sense of pure freedom and enjoyment.
      I think you might need to get one ;)

      @@economicalrides 👍 ... funny thing is that I'd been looking at a different bike completely 🤣 ... I sat on the Meteor and just fell for her, it's interesting how she feels a lot lighter than the 190kg weight as listed ... I'm hooked 👍 (at that price who wouldn't be) the only quandary is the colour 😎
      Btw ... hope your back is getting better 👍

      @@shanedebarra4986 Thanks Shane, yes the back is slowly getting better. Whisper it, but yesterday I did manage to sneak out for a quick ride around the block on her and my back didn't kill me afterwards. Hoping I'll be fully fit for a longer ride at the weekend, now that the first service is finally out of the way, I have 5000km of freedom to look forward to.
      Totally agree about the weight. When I am heaving the bike in and out of the garage it doesn't feel like 190kg at all. Not when scooting it about with my feet on the ground either. I hope that figure doesn't intimidate some riders and cause them not to buy one, because you certainly never feel the supposed weight !
      Delighted to hear that you are planning to get one too. The bigger the Meteor community the better the spares supply will be and there should be more support for the model from third party suppliers.
      Hoping for some nice aftermarket canvas bags to come out from someone soon. I miss not being able to take my bike to do the shopping but don't want to ruin the Fireball's looks with permanent luggage !
      Thanks for watching and commenting and let me know which colour your finally decided to go for. I thought it was a bit of a shame that the colour is determined by the spec level. I mean, maybe somebody would really like a blacked out yellow Supernova, but unfortunately we are stuck with what they offer us.
      Thanks again, really appreciate getting to chat with fellow members of the Meteor Appreciation Society :P

      @@economicalrides glad you're on the mend, injuries like that can really take their toll on lifestyle 👍 ... yep, I'm ordering one, just working out which colour (they're all pretty), I totally agree about the luggage, dont want to destroy the looks.... I've got an old 1950s set of canvas bags from my old BSA m20 and I'm already planning for the Enfield, I reckon I'll buy a Saree guard and use a single canvas bag on that side with the base of the bag resting on the footrest ... 👍

      @@economicalrides how does it go on highway speeds? Say 100 to 110kmph? Smooth?

    • @economicalrides
      @economicalrides  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@joelgafa7157 Hi Joel. The running-in period is 2000km and currently I have only done 800km ( damn my back ! ). I am going to take it easy until I reach 2000km so have yet to reach the speeds you mention. On collection day I HAD to use the highway to get home and that was the fastest I've been so far. I took her up to 90kmh just to be less of a hazard to others. At 90kmh I started to feel some vibrations coming through the foot pegs.
      Nothing bad, just noticeable. No vibes in the bars at that speed though. Bear in mind that the motor was BRAND NEW at this point, there may be less vibes once the engine is fully run-in.
      I have seen it reported that the absolute top speed of the Meteor is 120kmh on the speedo which was measured to be about 115kmh genuine. So on that basis, on the highway I think you would need to set your cruising speed to 100kmh, otherwise you will be thrashing the bike too hard. Allegedly this motor is designed to do 100kmh all day and if true, then I think that would be just about sufficient for the odd foray onto the highway ( if it can't be avoided ! ). I think the bike should be fairly relaxed at 100kmh although 90kmh seems to be smoother ( so far ).
      RE also sell "Touring foot pegs" as an accessory. These have a bigger surface area and have more rubber in them. They claim "more comfort" for rider and passenger on long journeys. I'm guessing by "comfort" they are referring to the vibes coming through the standard foot pegs at higher speeds.
      As soon as my bike is fully run in, I want to do a trip to Granada which is a four hour round trip and almost all of it on the highway. I will aim for a cruising speed of 100kmh. If the bike manages that without breaking into a sweat I will be more than happy ! If it happens, then of course there will be a video about it here !
      I am also thinking of buying the Touring foot pegs and if I do I will report back how effective they were. But vibes in the feet aren't as bad as vibes through the bars and at least they remind you that you are actually riding a motorcycle :P
      To answer your question more succinctly :
      100 kmh - should be fine, it is what I am expecting to be able to do if required
      110 kmh - will be pushing it. Maybe ok for a brief spell but wouldn't set it as my cruising speed personally.
      Am currently involved in an E-Mail exchange with Royal Enfield Spain, trying to sort out the mystery of the varying quoted service intervals !
      Thanks for your question. Cheers Joel !

      @@joelgafa7157 Thanks Joel. Yes, still loving the bike so far. Like you I bought the bike expecting to be able to take the bike on the highway as this is something which I will occasionally have to do ( unfortunately ). 90kmh is okay but I feel that at 100kmh I am less of an obstacle to other traffic on the highway. If the Meteor is not comfortable sustaining 100kmh on the highway I will be disappointed. But as mentioned, I will do the trip to Granada as soon as the bike is run in and then I will be able to say for sure how much the bike and I struggled ( if at all ) on a four hour highway run. And I think at some point I will buy the Touring foot pegs and fit them. I will of course post a video on the channel letting you all know whether or not they help at all.
      It's a pleasure chatting to you Joel. Take care and stay safe. Cheers !

      @@TiagoRuivo Totally. I’ve done the whole “buy the latest greatest hottest bike I can afford” thing multiple times and I was either too afraid to enjoy the bike because of how much money I had invested in it OR I felt obligated to ride it all the time because I had so much money parked in the garage depreciating rapidly. The Meteor gives me everything I need but without me worrying if I don’t use it for several weeks. It’s paid for, I am never going to sell it, the depreciation is low, so it doesn’t matter if I don’t use it EVERY weekend. Right now it suits my needs, my attitude and my budget. I really chose the perfect bike to buy at that time IMO 😍
      Everybody’s needs are different but a test ride on a Meteor will tell you all you need to know ( although I bought mine without a test ride ! ).
      I think the Meteor is a bike for sensible people who understand what they actually NEED in a motorcycle. It also has an amazing character to it, it just feels like your best friend from the first ride. It’s very hard not to fall in love with the Meteor, even if you find yourself wanting other bikes for other things.

      @@economicalrides I feel the same way about my Meteor! It's what I need and want as a retired guy. I felt comfortable with it right from the off, as you Brits say.
      I've had bigger faster bikes; I've been there, done that, and lived to tell about it, hahaha. When I had my ZRX, I could never relax and enjoy the ride. That bike was so powerful that I felt as if I were riding a cranky temperamental thoroughbred race horse looking to toss me at the slightest whim. Plus, I couldn't enjoy its performance LEGALLY; the first summer I had it, I got pulled over by the cops like seven times! It's a wonder I didn't lose my license.
      Having a high performance vehicle was a sort of bucket list item for me; it was something I'd dreamt of since I was a teen. I scratched that itch with my ZRX. Now, I don't need to go that fast anymore...

    • @economicalrides
      @economicalrides  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yep, the colour is absolutely awesome. At the beginning when I saw the launch photos I knew I wanted the sportier looking Fireball variant. Then I couldn't decide on the colour. I knew I preferred the yellow but I was worried that it might be a bit TOO yellow, if you know what I mean, and I may have ended up regretting it.
      I closed my eyes, opened them, looked at the red one. I closed my eyes, opened them and looked at the yellow one. Every time my eyes said "get the yellow one" but the cautious part of my brain was saying "but it might be TOO yellow. Maybe get the red one instead !".
      In the end I decided to be brave and trust my initial instincts and now I am so glad that I did. The fireball yellow is such a great colour, really rare to see something like it on a motorcycle. And the contrast between the bright yellow and the black of the engine, wheels and exhaust really makes the bike. The contrast red/black is nowhere near as stark.
      I'm SO glad I went with the yellow in the end, I really do recommend it if you end up buying a Meteor ! The Meteor still feels like the perfect bike to me, powerful enough but always relaxing and not intimidating to ride. I've managed to do 1100km so far and have yet to find anything about it which I do not like !

    Had my Stellar, for about a month now and love it! I've also changed the seat today, for the 'Low Rider' option. It's not noticeably lower, but it has the '3D Mesh Technology'. Did about 60/70 miles today 40 with the original seat (sore backside) 20 or so with the new seat - seemed better, but will test again after a break, tomorrow. The bike has great torque at low speed, will pull from 30 mph (50 kph) in 5th, with no problem. Sounds great and leaves you with a huge grin!

      @economicalrides  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hi Paul, thanks for commenting and I’m glad you’re enjoying your bike too ! Give your seat some time to break in and your backside some time to get used to it. I initially thought my touring seat was too hard but after a few rides I was able to do three hours non-stop without any discomfort.
      Bums get used to seats, as do seats get used to bums over time. Don’t judge the seat too early. I know that if I start riding my bicycle after a long time away, the saddle kills me for the first two days. By the third day I have no discomfort at all. I’m sure the new seat will prove comfortable enough if you give it some time.
      The Meteor really is a fantastic bike, so intuitive and effortless to ride and the beautiful motor with its low end grunt and thump really helps to make every ride enjoyable. Take care and ride safe. Cheers !

      Hi Dave, thanks for commenting !
      I'm glad my video convinced you to finally take the plunge ! I am approaching 1000km ( 620 miles ) with the bike now and there is still nothing about it which I do not like. It makes me smile every time I take it out. It is so intuitive to ride, never intimidating, you just get on it and relax and enjoy the ride. And I have rarely enjoyed rides as much as I enjoy them on the Meteor 350. It just puts you in the right headspace to just relax, cruise and enjoy.
      I am sure that your wife will love hers, in fact I am utterly convinced that she will.
      Right now my only concern is that the bike stays this way, that there are no reliability issues or severe degradation in the coming years. Recent Royal Enfield models have been built to modern standards and seem to last well, I'm just hoping the same will be true of the Meteor. I really want the bike to last and be reliable because I never want to sell it or have to search for another bike.
      The Meteor 350 is just perfect for me !
      Royal Enfield is about to introduce a 650 twin cruiser in India which is also a very good looking bike ! When it comes to other markets it would be a great option for riders who have to do more highway mileage than I do. I would like one as a second bike for longer trips but since I can't afford to run two bikes, I'm happy enough to stick with my 350. Besides, that long-stroke single cylinder sound is a traditional Royal Enfield soundtrack and is part of the riding pleasure for me !
      Glad you enjoyed our roads over here.
      If you haven't subscribed yet, I would appreciate it if you would. I will be producing regular new content, probably one video per week initially, so stay tuned.
      I have a video ready for upload this weekend.

      Thanks for commenting, ride safe and I hope your wife's RE Meteor experience ends up being as positive as mine. I am still totally in love with the darn thing and starting it up and hearing it immediately settle into a steady thump thump thump always puts a grin on my face !

      Thank you. This bike is a magnificent replacement for a Bullet 500. It will remind you of the Bullet in all of the good ways ( thump, motor characteristics, the coolness factor ) but in every regard it is simply so much better, so much easier to live with, so much smoother. I am sure that RE will be building a new generation of 350 Bullets using this J Series motor, it is an absolute peach of an engine. So if you are more into the classic roadster style, I wouldn't rule out RE bringing out a Bullet Classic with this engine next year, which might be worth waiting for ! Food for thought ;) I don't really like the cruiser style normally but for some reason I fell in love with the yellow Fireball the first time I saw it and can now say that I genuinely enjoy owning a cruiser and the slightly different riding experience it gives me.

      There are some even nicer roads in my latest video, should you care to take a look and there will be more videos coming soon.
      Thank you for your kind comments.
      There is a 650 Meteor ( will possibly be called Shotgun after "RE - Made Like a Gun" ) on the way. With twin low-slung pipes and a wider rear fender it is a very nice looking bike. For those with more money to spend and looking to do more highway miles, sure to be another excellent RE bike.
      For now I find my 350 totally adequate for everything I need from a bike but if money were no object, then I wouldn't mind adding a 650 twin version of the Meteor to my fleet !
      I think more and more people are realising that actually 350cc is enough for most situations. It seems as though demand for the Meteor has been surprisingly high in markets where RE was not expecting to sell many of the smaller capacity bikes. Currently they can't make them fast enough to satisfy demand. I am one of several people I know who were originally looking at buying a 650 Interceptor only to decide that actually the Meteor does everything we need for a fraction of the price ( whilst also looking very nice ).

      Congratulations jadonx, I can almost guarantee that you will love your Fireball ! I think it is already the best bike I have ever owned and I really want to keep it until they try to stop me from riding it for my own safety 😛
      With regard to the seat, I would just go with the standard seat for a while, it's pretty comfortable.
      If you later decide that you need more support, the touring seat is a fair bit denser ( quite hard even, initially ) and does offer more support, distributes loads better due to its internal webbing and remains comfortable for longer. But the standard seat is more plush for shorter journeys, so I recommend seeing how you get on with it first.
      Try the standard seat for a while and if you are not happy, buy the touring seat later.
      It is a piece of cake to swap the seats out later, so you have time before you need to start thinking of an upgrade.
      Once you've done it once, you can swap seats in about 10 minutes I reckon.
      Some people on here prefer the standard seat for daily riding but have a touring seat for longer road trips. They just swap seats as required. It really is very easy to do once you've done it once and definitely something you can do yourself later on 👍🏻
      I hope your Fireball arrives soon. It will be a very friendly bike after six years away, I think you made a very good choice !
      Cheers jadonx and good luck,

      I was torn between red and yellow initially. Don’t get me wrong, I instantly wanted the yellow one ( since I wanted a Fireball and only had the choice of yellow or red ) but I was afraid that it might be a bit too yellow and conspicuous for a modest chap like myself. Finally I decided to be brave and buy the one which spoke to me first and I’m so glad I did. I love the contrast between the “rubber duck yellow” and the black. It’s such an unusual colour for a bike these days, it really stands out from the crowd and I love it for that !

Then, just before it came out in Europe I said “Garry FFS it HAS to be the yellow one. It’s the one that spoke to you !”. As luck would have it, when my local dealer got his first Meteor it happened to be a yellow fireball. Went “to have a look at one in the metal” and bought it there and then 🤗 I told them to add the fly screen and touring seat and was able to ride it home five days later. I’m so glad I trusted my gut instinct. The bike looks great in rubber duck yellow with the black fly screen. Everybody I meet is very complimentary about it and wants to know what it is, what it cost etc. The other weekend I was stopped by the Guardia Civil for a paperwork check. They gave my papers a cursory glance and then spent fifteen minutes asking me all sorts of questions about the bike and what I thought about it. One of them couldn’t believe the price and I suspect he was on the internet the next day preparing to buy one. that touring seat looks damn comfy!

    • @economicalrides
      @economicalrides  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It is, but as you will see in subsequent videos it robs you of about 6cm usable seat length front to rear. I and several others on here have concluded that people with longer legs would probably feel too cramped up with this seat so my recommendation to them is to stick with the standard seat. Also the touring seat has a very dense foam and seemed rock hard for the first few hours. After that the foam becomes supportive but all day long comfortable.
      I think the standard seat feels softer initially but of course long term that’s not necessarily a good thing. I‘m switching back to the standard seat ( which was never fitted ) just to do a riding comparison video soon 👍

      @@JimmySlacksackYes, I’m pretty sure that you’ll prefer the standard seat because it will give you that extra room to straighten out your legs a tiny bit more. I only have a 30 inch inside leg and already feel slightly squished up. I‘m looking forward to trying the standard seat just to see if it enables me to have my feet slightly further forward rather than more or less right underneath me.
      There will definitely be a fairly in depth comparison video coming after I have swapped the seats over. I do know of somebody about your size who bought the touring seat and didn’t get on with it and had to switch back. You can read about that in the comments section of the „Is the touring seat for you ?“ video on this channel 👍
      Never say never but my feeling is that you probably won’t like the seating position the touring seat forces you to take.

    Just want to let everyone know that there is going to be 650 Cruiser. Expected near the end of 2021 here in India so if anyone is having an issue with the power, you might want to wait for that 650.

    • @economicalrides
      @economicalrides  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes, could indeed be an option for some. But I've decided that there is no point in paying for more power ( with added weight and fuel consumption ) which I will rarely if ever use. A 650 cruiser would make more sense for somebody who expects to do a lot of highway miles and needs to be able to cruise at 70-80 mph but I don't buy a bike to ride it on the highway, personally ;)
      Thanks for commenting. It will be interesting to see how the 350 Bullet with the J Series engine does in Europe when it arrives. Personally I don't think the engine looks right in a Bullet style bike. It just seems odd to me. I will always associate the original shape Bullet engine with that bike, the J Series engine just ruins the bike's looks for me, although I might get used to it in time !

    Subscribed. Nice video. I`m a 63 year old Brit who hasn`t owned a bike for over 40 years and hasn`t ridden at all for 4 years. The prospect of a comfortable leisurely ride that the Meteor offers at a very reasonable price is encouraging me to see it in the metal myself in the next couple weeks. A question for you, I`ve ridden Harleys with heel/toe shifters and I`ve never been a fan but there`s always been room to use the toe shift only if you chose to. Is there space on the Meteor to use the toe shift for upward changes.

    • @economicalrides
      @economicalrides  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Derek ! Thanks for subscribing. Yes of course, if your boots are not too thick in the toe area, you can just use the forward part as a regular shifter. With normal shoes or slim boots you shouldn’t have a problem. I’d recommend a test ride if at all possible. I didn’t have that luxury because the model was new when I bought mine and my dealer had just received his first bike and I ended up buying it 😛
      Take a test ride with your normal MC footwear and see how you get on. I tend to ride in hiking boots ( because ankle protection is pretty important ) and could use the forward part as a regular shifter if I chose to 🙂

    • @economicalrides
      @economicalrides  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Gerald, thanks for commenting !
      Unfortunately I can't give you a definitive answer since I've never ridden the bike without the fly screen. I mean, generally they do help a bit but I can't tell you for sure. Also, having owned fast naked bikes in the past, I don't find the wind at 70mph much of a problem to be honest. Obviously beyond that speed it starts to become more of an issue.
      I think if you like the LOOK of the fly screen, just go ahead and get one. I'm pretty sure it won't make things any worse and it will definitely make your bike look smarter. If it helps with the wind, then view that as a bonus ;)
      I hope you continue to enjoy your Meteor. I'm really enjoying getting to know more Meteor owners and admirers on here. It's great to talk to others about a shared interest like this.
      Enjoy your bike, stay safe and if you get the fly screen, let me know if you think it helps deflect the wind or not and then I'll know if I ever get asked the same question again :P

    Hi there, I enjoy your videos and and I like the perspective from someone who sees a motorcycle as something that can be economical. This bike was designed for the Indian market as a "big bike", so I take some comfort in knowing that people in India will tour across their great country in a 350cc. I am considering something in this size. I personally don't see why a motorcycle needs to be anything above 500cc, 750cc tops. You cannot tap into half of your 100+ HP bike at the best of times.
    That said, could you see doubling up on this bike easily? Would there be enough power? I like the fact that they make an effort to make a bike you can take a passenger on - in a 350cc! Show me another manufacturer who even makes the effort on anything under a 500cc. Again, this bike is designed for the local Indian and Asian market and doesn't need the handful of North American sales to make money. That said, I want to try one!

    • @economicalrides
      @economicalrides  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Matt, based on my experience with the Bullet 500 I think you would barely notice a pillion on this bike. Maybe on a very long incline you might but in general these long stroke engines hang on pretty well with the extra weight. On a very steep incline you might find yourself having to drop down another gear but in flat terrain or on a gentle incline I think this motor would deal with a pillion without any problems. It's torquey and not revvy and the Bullet 500 was similar and barely suffered at all with a passenger onboard.
      I hope this helps !
      I was thinking of buying an Interceptor 650 originally but came to the conclusion that I would probably only ever be riding at 80-90 kmh on that 90% of the time and it's also not a bike you would ever buy to go fast. So I decided that if all I am interested in is a relaxed cruise, why pay over 50% more for more power which I will rarely if ever use. Also 100% of the time you have more weight and more complexity to deal with. Not to mention more fuel consumption. I think this particular 350 motor is strong enough for everything I'll ever need. It will still be fairly relaxed at 90-100kmh if I have to hit the highway for an hour or two ( although obviously with any bike I plan my routes to avoid highway riding where possible, since it's terminally boring and you don't get to see very much ! ).
      Based on my experience so far I really doubt that I will be looking for something more powerful anytime soon, but it does depend on the type of riding you are looking to do, obviously. For my purposes 350cc feels like it will be adequate.

      @@economicalridesThanks for the great reply. I currently have a Piaggio BV350 that puts out 10 more HP (30.2 hp @ 8,250 rpm) than the Meteor, but honestly I could do with probably 20-25HP. The Piaggio has loads of power but not sure I'd ever want to go north of the 130kph it can reportedly do. I think the Meteor does better with the torque where you need it and provides max torque at much lower RPM than my Piaggio. Also, while the Piaggio is okay on fuel consumption, it's not as thrifty as I had hoped - fairly heavy, automatic, and high reving. I simply love the idea of a bike that can give me close to 500km on a tank - even though you would never take it that close before refueling.

      Obviously I have a horse in this race, I’m not going to be totally impartial since I spent my own money on a Meteor. But honestly I think a Meteor could suit your needs well. It IS very economical and it will carry a passenger with relative ease. I bought mine without a test ride since nobody had a demo bike. I bought it based upon reviews I’d seen on the internet but I haven’t been disappointed at all. If you can get a test ride on one, you absolutely should try one and see how you feel about it. Sam, as someone who also owns a Meteor; as someone who's owned and ridden it both with and without the flyscreen; I think I can answer your question.
      Yes, it serves a few purposes, actually. One, it makes the bike look GREAT! It really adds to the bike's aesthetic. Two, it keeps bugs off the instrument cluster. Three, it does keep some wind off you, particularly at speeds below 50 mph, or 80 km/h. While it doesn't offer Goldwing, full fairing levels of protection, it keeps enough wind blast off you so that, rather than getting fatigued after an hour or so, you can go 2-3. However, once you go above 50 mph/80 kmh, you'll get more wind blast, and it won't make much difference at that point.

    • @economicalrides
      @economicalrides  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I bought my Meteor when it was in stock, so I never had to order it. A friend of mine asked about the waiting time for a yellow Fireball and was told that it would probably take at least eight weeks to arrive. But the dealer replaced my bike with a brown Supernova which I believe is still in stock.
      So delivery time depends on the spec level and colour you want. If you are flexible, most dealers will have a Meteor in stock. If you want a bike in a different colour and spec to whatever the dealer has, then I think you could expect a waiting time of between six to eight weeks. Thanks for commenting 👍

If you order the bike six weeks before you need it then I’m sure you’ll be fine ! Let me know how it goes. Regarding the engine guards, if you want to keep your bike pristine, I would go for the black ones with the plainest design, I don’t think they’ll ruin the looks at all. I did think about getting them myself because it can be precarious moving bikes about on the gravel I have around the house and in front of the garage. I finally decided that if I’m keeping this bike forever ( which I surely am ) then any slight damage should I drop it will just give the bike a nice patina. I’m going to try not to be too precious about how my bike looks, it’s there to be ridden. But as a beginner who is proud of their new bike, crash guards could be worth having. It’s all too easy to drop a bike and end up scratching expensive parts ☹️ Should that ever happen you’ll be glad you invested in crash bars for sure 👍 Take care and stay tuned, more videos planned for next week ! Hi Jokic, in my third video I do actually mention this, it's the video with the thumbnail "You guys are awesome...but my back is screwed".
      In that video I mention that on mountain roads you can keep the bike in fourth gear pretty much all of the time. Maybe drop to third for a tight hairpin bend or second for a tight uphill hairpin bend.
      Basically I view the bike as having four gears.
      Fifth gear is an overdrive gear which is really only useful when the road is very straight.
      As soon as you leave a straight road for something with more curves, you just use the first four gears and fourth gear is suitable for just about everything. I only need third or second gear exiting a very tight hairpin bend. If you can keep your speed above 60kmh in the bend, fourth gear pulls well, even up hill.
      I hope this answers your question, if not, please get back to me !

I wouldn’t bother going for fifth gear until you are back on the flat roads, the Meteor needs to be going pretty fast before it will pull fifth gear easily ( 70 kmh is about the slowest speed where fifth gear is comfortably in the power band ).
      When I am riding the Meteor here, it’s almost like riding an automatic scooter really. Once I get up to fourth gear in the mountains I can pretty much leave it there and forget about shifting gears for a long time !
      4800 EUR is a crazy price for a Meteor ! The Fireball should be 4095 EUR and the Supernova about 4300 EUR. How are the dealers trying to justify that price ? It sounds like they are ripping you off over there !

      Thanks again for your kind comments and for supporting my channel, which I really appreciate. If I can help you with anything else, please just ask.
      Take care and come back soon Jokic. Cheers !

    Hey buddy, new sub here, congratulations on the new bike. How’s the riding position for your legs?

    • @economicalrides
      @economicalrides  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi again. I only have a 30 inch inside leg but don’t really feel as if my feet are ahead of my knees at all. I would actually prefer my feet to be slightly more forward. I think the problem is the touring seat I have. It forces you to sit up to six centimetres further forward because its impossible to sit on the very back of the seat ( I have a video about that too ! ). Soon I will be fitting the standard seat and testing that and will report back upon whether or not it gives me more variation in riding positions. If it enables me to sit 1-2 inches further back, I think I might prefer that, although on a long ride the touring seat is bound to be more comfortable.
      I just need to swap the seats and test the standard one before giving my final verdict, so stay tuned to the channel and you will hear my final verdict 👍
      Thanks for your support, I really appreciate it WRM !
      Take care, ride safely and come back back soon. Cheers. ER.

    Royal Enfield is best

    • @economicalrides
      @economicalrides  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Well the last three new models they have released internationally have certainly found their market and have been highly praised by journalists and owners alike. The Himalayan, the Interceptor/Conti and now the Meteor are all excellent bikes and all represent excellent value in their respective segments.
      If the build quality is as good as the competition ( it remains to be seen how durable my Meteor will be ! ) then they really will be one of the best manufacturers out there, I agree.
      They seem to keep producing EXACTLY the type of bikes people want in their respective segments. They really are "knocking it out of the park" at the moment, so full credit to RE and their management.
      Thanks for commenting LKP and I hope you enjoy my other videos. Cheers !

    better than cheap chinese bikes

    • @economicalrides
      @economicalrides  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      To be fair, Chinese bikes are getting better and better. My only concern with Chinese bikes is the availability of spare parts after, let's say, five years or so. I'm not sure how long they will continue to support any one model, since they seem to bring out new models constantly.
      I have no doubt that there are many very good and very economical Chinese motorcycles, I'm just not sure how long you would be able to keep one running for.
      I know that Royal Enfield will support the Meteor for many years to come and that parts availability should be no problem. For me that was the deciding factor against any Chinese motorcycle because I was looking to purchase a new motorcycle to keep for many, many years.
      Thanks for checking out my channel and commenting ! Cheers ! 👍🏻

      Blimey, this video is a blast from the past 😂
      You are quite right, I don’t mention that I am in Spain in this particular video 😛
      I’ve lived in Spain since 2006 and among other bikes have bought a Meteor 350 and Classic 350 here.
      Loads of subsequent content on my TH-cam channel EconomicalRides if you are interested.
      This was my second ever video I believe. I think things have improved a bit since then. Plenty of Meteor and Classic 350 videos on my channel.
      I adore the Meteor, probably the best bike I’ve ever owned. Mine also now has a name, “Buddy”.
      Thanks for dropping by IW123 🥃🥃
