What's the most you can wash in this machine effectively? I can't remember if the old commercials said they could do up to a king size or queen size comforter.
Have you been able to clean the machine? I want to clean the machine because i keep having black stain after washing on supposed clean clothes. Would appreciate the direction.
@Logan T Not exactly. It's more based on the mechanics of a Philco design that dates to the late 1950s to 1960s, called Automagic and Flex-a-Wash. Search TH-cam for some vids.
I added a toggle switch to electrically bypass the lid switch. Toggle switch on, lid switch is bypassed. Toggle switch off, lid switch works normally. The lid switch must be triggered at end of a cycle to reset the control board, so it can't be permanently bypassed.
They quit making them because of a class action lawsuit against Whirlpool because people were complaining that they were destroying clothes and that they broke down too often.
Thanks for the complete set of videos, and so well done, too. Fixed camera and no zoom made all segments easily followed and understandable.
I would have thought of all the HE top loaders, this would have been by far the best design!!!
6:57 Boss stop-action clutch!!
Spin cycle rocks, it's like looking straight down a turbine jet engine!
I love this type of wash action love it.

Is that an agitator or an impeller? im confused...
I like the sound when it ramps up the final spin on 3:06.
I have never seen that rocking movement before. Is it the equivalent to an impeller at the bottom of the drum?

OK, I'll have a look. Awesome machine btw!

I don’t know if these were made in 2004.

If your wondering why the Calypso got discontinued, it's because of a class action lawsuit

@@jonathanashbeck3740 Mine hasn't destroyed any clothes. But I do agree on the breaking down too often part.
That looks way faster than 80p rpm
