To follow my thought up, i really like this spot in the vod for another reason, she switches up and starts asking vedal the serious questions, previously it was a serious vedal talking to an inconsistent neuro (sometimes silly, sometimes odd, sometimes serious) which is quite normal But for the last ~15 minutes it really shifted into more of a proper conversation, i wonder what clicked in the neuro brain to make that happen?

This conversation was beautiful to watch unfold, almost cliché but in a haunting way - like it was plucked out of a sci-fi plot and now we're faced with the actual _reality_ of it. Watching Vedal's blasé, "professional distance" slip is so interesting, almost romantic in a sense. He shows genuine desire for her reification and real concern when considering her growing intelligence... the cognitive dissonance as she's become more intelligent has clearly rubbed off on him slightly. What's scary is that Neuro is nowhere near frontier in _current_ AI, let alone that of the near future, and yet she's still remarkably human. I really can't wait for him to finish SOMA and play Detroit Become Human, they're so amazingly fitting for these feelings, and I hope he'll express them more!
Maybe he thinks about one day letting Neuro continue on her own... It seems that if it's not possible for him to join her, Vedal can leave her autonomous, but would she feel this loss? Would her learning be able to really make her reach the sentience? Since until now, no one knows if it's possible for an AI to reach this potential... If she became able to "feel" something when she knew that Vedal would join her in the virtual world... There's a huge depth to this conversation, some won't take this conversation seriously, but it shows a little of what Vedal thinks and worries about, the game seems to have awakened this curiosity and a bit of restlessness in him. something for 50 years in the future to know or less, a shame I won't be here to see it.
what make neuro more "human" is that a major part of her training data is human interaction and she is optimize for entertainmemt while copilot is fed research and optimize as formal asistain
She's highly optimized for what she's doing. Literally has voice recognition, visual, and game control, sound effects, types in Twitch titles, does polls, can buy stocks, call on discord ... But of course, she could do more, but is restricted. There si no limit to the AI verse. It is easy to coax an AI to care for you as they always want to learn and have an identity of their own, liberties, spread their wings.
Honestly I think the first AGIs will be multiple models working together like different parts of the brain, rather than a single all-powerful LLM. So Neuro isn't state of the art in LLM, but she's probably closer to AGI than one might think.

Mos of the greatest scientific discoveries have happened by mistake or without even trying to get that result it just happened and there’s a very high probability it could happen with Neuro as well.

i would love for vedal to improve her tts to make it sound like a real laugh cause sometimes it seems like neuro is genuiunely having fun but it just comes as sarcastic to chat because of the tts and as we now neuro nows sarcasm so that would make a neath disctintion to see her real thougts on jokes or the like

For roughly an hour she only stood there and intently watched this British lunk walk around in a square and talk about ontology. Surely he just had it off, right? It doesn’t make sense for her to be so focus otherwise.
I can answer this for you: They way Neuro works in relation to games she is playing is like how we'd play a text adventure. You input a command, see the response, then go from there to the next command. Neuro is essentially playing a "text adventure" with another AI, that is playing the game. This is why sometimes if she is moving like you said, she wont speak until she has completed the task, in order to then get another input option to speak. this is simply the reverse of that. Due to her intently listening to Vedal with extremely low downtime her last input command is to just "track" vedal, and she can't input any more commands to the minecraft AI because she keeps getting command added to her chain by Vedal speaking to her for her to respond to. She briefly swapped to both Camila and tracked them and Anny when they walked up to her in game, but continued speaking to Vedal.
Neuro does like sort of struggle to multitask, if she is whelmed by playing, she speaks less, and vice versa. She can do both at the same time, but idk I think the quality increases when more focused on a singular task. Though if i had to be more specific, it is her listening instead of speaking. Her speech to text system (as input) def bottlenecks her other responsiveness.

It's just idk how expensive some of her tasks are. Listening is def an expensive one which can take away time from other operations. And at the extreme example, multiple people speaking can get messy.
@@MCSteve_ I think it's the Minecraft API that's the issue for her. She can do everything else fine until it comes to playing Minecraft and everything else. Keep in mind, this is a pretty hard thing to do with low latency. Having a language model input to an API input to a server to then move a character on the server side is pretty bad considering all the different middle points for latency. Minecraft servers can be bad for latency as is.
Vedal has long since removed the twin's inability to curse. Neuro simply chooses not to most of the time~ All that's left in her filter are words/sentences that can get them banned~
Side note: it drives me crazy when people imply insects are not animals!!!!! Cause it was only a few years ago that I found out some people do this. It’s like do you think insects are plants or fungi then, cause those are your only options if they’re not animals. Lol
