@@myriadmediamusings they also (after the less than 20 seconds dedicated to the haunted castle section) followed it up by saying something akin to ‘experience these four titles’ implying that all this was was a reskin or something of the OG game instead of full credit, which is misleading and disappointing
Remakes for bad games should be A LOT more common. As much as I love fresh takes on old great games (I.E RE2R and Black Mesa), bad games can have tons of great ideas that have immense potential being held back by everything else.
Ah yes, the classic Konami Arcade guitar chug. Simply sublime EDIT: Apparently I've forgotten how to spell guitar. Spellcheck before sending comments folks, or you end up like Simon's Quest's translation.
Woah, people didn't take long to upload the music from this remake. This is my favorite tune from this game, and among my Top 10 tunes from Castlevania, and this new version is sounding good so far.
Now the people saying this is a final boss theme (from the smash ultimate areangement) can finally see that this is just a banger of a first stage theme.
Should have advertised this game more in the trailer but also happy that Konami is taking the right steps. Heavy under rated series and deserves a resurgence or at least a dawn of sorrow era (Julius 1999 origin) game.
Best version of this theme along with Smash Ultimate's arrangement. I just wish they used the Adventure ReBirth sound font for it so it sounds more like it came out of a Genesis or an old arcade machine.
The Portraiit of Ruin one has the best arrangement because they actually keep the bassline and make it sound more classical, the only issue is the DS soundfont holding it back. That arrange would go so hard on modern high quality sample libraries.
Did they really need to have off-center, linear, power chord chugging replicating the bass notes for every song in this remaster. It sounds like a bad "metal remix" from an inexperienced TH-camr guitarist that has no idea how to add anything else to the song other than chug.
i get this but also, L take (2). this arrangement/instrumental choice works in their favor because the palm muted chords are a Konami arcade soundtrack staple, which is evidently the kind of direction this OST is going for despite the production style. it's kind of unique in that regard
While I do think the guitar was unnecessary, this doesn't sound inexperienced at all. The mix of the piano and the organ is performed really nicely. I do miss the bass from the original but I suppose that's just the style they were going for. It is still profressional sounding when it comes to the mixing and production, just because we don't enjoy a specific stylistic choice doesn't mean you get to disrespect the artist that made it, just accept we didn't enjoy that one decision n move on. The guitar chugging is also what a lot of the old Konami Arcade machine games used to do (even if the Haunted Castle one didn't) so it's probably a deliberate choice to be like that.

@@unknownuser494 Thank you!
They took a bottom tier Casltevania game and turned it FINALLY into a good game LET'S FUCKING GO
Not the first time either; Adventure ReBirth did so as well (though that's more like a new game with the same story).
@@quillion3rdoption Wish they included that game too

*_FUCK YEAH!!!!!!!!!_*
@@R_wir3 Adventure ReBirth, Belmont's Revenge ReBirth, and Legends ReBirth (idc if IGA doesn't consider Legends canon).

They did...
It was announced in a Nintendo Direct...

It's a pleasant surprise. Something extra they put alongside the DS games everyone wanted anyway.
Yeah, I initially saw videos popping up of this on TH-cam and I thought it was just a high quality fangame!
I love chibi-tech's music, I'm so glad they went to her for this game's soundtrack

I swear, that Guitar chug is one of my favorites things in Music.❤
@@setsers1 Agreed, it's a distinct part of Konami's arcade music, particularly in games like Contra

Another instance to where the Remake of a game wins over the Original version.
Why am i crying? This is so beautiful.
This track and it's many variants are fantastic, however no one seems to mention how perfect the title is for a vampire killer theme.

Not the first time where a "first stage" theme was used as part of the final boss in a Castlevania game.

Super Castlevania 4
Castlevania Legends

So true
I appreciate you uploading this so early!
About damn time someone started uploading this soundtrack!
Man, I've always loved this game. What happened to having to dodge all of the flying bricks at the end of 1-1?
*mid stage actually, and that mf took me several attempts 💀
masonry has improved a lot since then
Who’s complaining?
From flying bricks to falling crosses from the sky
Maybe the masonries who made them felt a bit religious that day
Un remix que le hace justicia al original! 🎵

That one was banger but this one ROCKS!
I always felt the arrangement of the Portrait of Ruin version was phenomenal. The DS soundfont just doesn't do it justice

I found this collection by pure accident. And had to cop 💪🔥🦇
They took the hardest and worst Castlevania game...AND THEY MADE IT GREAT!!
KONAMI IS FUCKING BACK!!😍
I hate to say it but it's right up there to Castlevania 4
@@nicholasnorman4179That's a VERY good thing. Castlevania 4 was the best in the Classic Series.

I prefer the Smash Bros. Ultimate version with the chanting, but this is still excellent.
Castlevania Haunted Castle In Main Game
Doom and Castlevania competing for the most masculine masterpieces.
And oddly it always went from the hardest to arguably the easiest >.

the second best version of this song

I much preffer the chiptunes. Those renditions generally sounds generic. This composition is great and this rendition is still fine though
So is Castlevania actually back? (Please!)
yap castlevania is back bro haunted castle (castlevania) in 1988 so bad in 2024 haunted castle revisited so very good bro 👍
