Oh yeah! I hitchhiked to 44 countries in the 80's with a clarinet, which I bought after hearing Charlie Parker for the first time in Alaska, and self-taught reading and playing. I wasn't good, but I wasn't killed either LOL More recently I discovered the klezmer tradition, which has to be the biggest unsung early Jazz influence. Respect. Great musicianship by everyone :)
How much fun! Anat: it is a great pleasure teo hear you, as well as to see how much you relish the music you make. Congrats for the composition, arrangement and playing to all in this splendid group.
A very short version here, basically a demo. Solos are careful, not stretched out or exploratory. The pianist went outside for about 10 seconds. When you hear Anat Cohen in a live recording, the outcome is totally different, she catches fire and there are no boundaries, a totally amazing artist emerges in that setting, unchecked and fearless.
