Wow how amazing I love Amla. The history is interesting. I would love a chance to feel this tree. I’m in San Diego and have family near Phoenix if you think the owner may be okay with me viewing this tree? I’d be so excited! Lmk thank you

I read the fruit is high in vitamin C and antioxidants. It can be made into chutney fruit preserves that will require a sweetener as it can be bitter.

Hey Shamus, been wondering how your Baobab tree is doing? I'm in Las Vegas and I REALLY want to try to grow them here.

Quick question for you Sir. Do King Palms, the ones from SoCal. that resemble Royal Cubans, grow here in the PHX area?

Lowe's here in Tucson just had them for the first time. I bought 2 and already had 2 from mail-order. They thrive here in Tucson this time of the year. All are growing and the recent cold snap (with 2 30F nights) didn't bother them at all but they all have overhead protection. I took them inside for almost 2 months last summer. I think the heat of full summer will be too much but for now, I'm fine with them being in containers to move around. Hope this helps. One I recently bought, quickly lost 2 stems to central spear rot but the remaining plant is growing well. My Caryota mitis is also growing well (container) outside.

@@allanrose2964 Really?! What size were the ones you bought and which location in Tucson? I will definitely take a drive down there if they are still available. Thank you for sharing.

@@westsideofphoenix I got mine at the Speedway/Kolb Lowe's store. There were a few there this week inside the garden center but I didn't check the palms outside. They have Bismarcks & nice Queen palms too. Home Depot on Broadway/Pantano have an excellent plant selection as well (Large Bismarcks) but I didn't see any Kings there. The ones I bought were 5 gallon for $19.99. Perhaps 3 gallons but all very healthy. Good luck.

Shamus, how do you feel about the multiple-tree-per-hole method for tropical fruit trees, such as sometimes is done for stone fruits? I plan on trying it out in any case, but wanted to see if you have any thoughts.

What ever happened with that property that you, the owner and that degenerate were setting up? The 3 of you each had your own section. It was a couple/few acres, flat with flood irrigation and last I saw there was a huge pond going in the middle of it.
