very nice rig at probably a very high price I make do by using a day pack on my front and medium rucsac on my back ive even used a nike sport sac well several configurations depending on what I am doing at the time! but I like this I just don't like the prices that these type of specialist sacks are pitching at as it can be quite unnafordable compared to a quick fix! they are nice bags but like anything nice you do or are expcted to pay through the nose for it! good advice on the balancing of it very important point to ensure comfort whilst dynamically moving over uneven terrain! as you say it is ideal for fast moving trail running or fast but light carry situations from basecamp! also provides frontal protection hitting trees if you trip etc or fall backwards slips falls torso protection! very handy sited front bag! ideal for that weapon pull!
thats a great setup & very thoughtfully designed bag im glad i got one just need the rear pack now to compliment it! ive rigged up.a jury rig on existing pack i have ive just recommended it to someone i know my german friend also likes it good stuff
best way to carry medium loads through on move through tough country by far a bit of mix n match weight dustributions never goes amiss hell of a differences when you get the weight distributions right its good to spread the load you will learn how to breathe right in cadence with it once sorted takes a bit of getting used to at first chest load but once sorted you soon click into it its heavy frontal loads you want to avoids they significany alter yer breathing combined with heavy on yer back also!
This looks like a great set setup. In a trail running scenario, with the yellow jacket and the clear goal of "jogging", even here in Kalifoniastan you'd be hard pressed to be hassled by LEO's for carrying it. I would say this is pretty Gray Man in that specific context. Now if I can stop being lazy and start running again :).
I am looking at doing a trail run/fastpack trip into the Bob Marshall wilderness which is big time Grizzly Bear country. I was looking at this setup for quick access to bear spray/handgun on the chest and then overnight gear in the rear pack. I'd probably get the chest pack with molle to attach the bear spray on the outside. What about hydration? Can you set up a bladder in the rear pack with a drinking hose? What are you doing for water while running? I like chest bottles but it looks like that can't be an option with this setup. Thank you for the insight.
debating between getting this one or the runners kit bag. Does the original kit bag have a lower profile (inch similar to runners kit bag) if it is not packed full?
I think this is just a little larger volume than the runners kit. If you want to carry just the pistol then the runners kit is the way to go because it's the lowest volume if I remember correctly, but if you plan on using this for hiking and more than just running then absolutely get the bigger kit. I end up putting my GPS, a fire kit, some snacks and a radio in mine. All stuff I want access to fast without having to take my back pack off.
Are you using the runners harness on this? I just went on a 12 mile run with that same bag and kit bag accept I kept them harnessed seperatly. The kit bags harness killed my neck. I am trying to figure out how to do this configuration
...just found this video... i´ve been trying to find out as much i can find about the hill people gear stuff. not so much for the guncarrying thing...but all in all how that gear holds up and if it´s worth me sending quite some money over the big lake! there are some tactical-gear companies in europe aswell...but nothing apealing like hill people gear. this video is about 2 years old... do you still use the packs? especially the tarahumara (i think i saw that in later videos...) and the kitbag! would be really interesting... really like the overall concept of their stuff...
Has anyone done anything successfully for waterproofing these things. I’m Getting the snubby (smaller one) soon and was wondering if it takes waterproofing spray well or anything like that. Obviously not full waterproof due to the zippers and stuff.
So in the Video you said there are (3) parts to get. Tarahumara backpack, "Runners Shoulder Harness", and kit bag. They offer a shoulder harness but they say its the same one that comes with there packs. so cant you just attach the Kit Bag directly to the back pack? or do you have to get the shoulder Harness accessory? The runners harness seems to just ties the Kit bag to your Back; but what attaches the Kit Bag to the Backpack itself
Reynaldo Rivera sorry I reply to a lot of comments here. I take it when it’s warranted. Like in bear country or sketchy neighborhoods. Mostly I use it when I’m hiking. But yes that setup was made for running and can be use to run with.

I use the Recon chest rig and love it. Hill people gear make fine equipment.
Absolutely yes!
I this is the 4th time I've watched this...Hill People Gear will be on my Christmas list. I really like this setup.
I am literally going to use this bag on my hike up the back of Mt Timpanogos in an hour. You won't regret getting it.

I think so. I'm more interested in comfort and distance with this one. But it does make a great trail running bag.

Absolutely. You can do what I do which is to put a Geiger rig water bottle with an in line filter in the back pack. That’s my suggestion
Watch my urban bugout 2 video. It has that in the video
@@TJackSurvival I’ll check it out. Thank you
Cool System, gives you a maximum on moving space and flexibility, thanks for sharing, Taro
The part I like the most is the balance that it gives.
How's it do with chafing in hot environments and long distances? Also, do the pack and the kit have drainage?
Great kit. I like that setup.
It's awesome!

Why not get a Jevern Bag? That would fit in there (the Extreme would take up most of it, though).
+Atkrdu Not a bad idea at all.
+TJack Survival Thank you. The Exclusive is the same thing, but with a zip-out lining. Just figured I'd mention it.
+Atkrdu I hadn't seen it until you mentioned it so thank you.
+TJack Survival You're welcome.

Yes I am. Really I prefer this with the back pack and chest rig with equal weight. That’s key.
Hell yea love this setup
I’ve still got it, still use it too
...just found this video... i´ve been trying to find out as much i can find about the hill people gear stuff.

It holds up amazingly. I use the crap out of it with or without the pistol.

Not that I know of but if you have something that really needs it just use a dry bag in your chest rig.
Maybe wool socks with that Lester River. Great pack
I love Love LOVE my LRBushcrafter jacket. These packs are great. Agreed and thanks.
You used this pack today didn't you with the winter campout? It seems like a really awesome bag!
Yep that's the same one. Awesome huh
What is the intro song called
Original kit bag, runner's harness, and tarahumara pack? Correct?
Exactly yes.
thanks!

Tito Trueba I don’t know. You’ll have to contact them directly.
Awesome video! Awesome gear!
Jordan river parkway?
Well the part that ends up in Provo yes.
Great video bro!
+Maynard Madsen Hey thank you very much!
Time has passed..still like and use this pack? Like anything better? Any problems or issues? need a front pack thats 6-9L
Nope! LOL, Now I have two! A big one and a small one. Love them both.
Your trails looks much different than mine. Lol. Just kidding. Nice kit!
Na yours just have more trees! LOL
So you wear this to go running?
Yes daily. I used them today to climb a peak 1,500 foot climb over 2 miles up 2 down in 94 degree heat. They are my preferred running footwear.
TJack Survival I’m talking about the pack set up

TJack Survival glad you reply, interacting with your subs is good
Reynaldo Rivera I do what I can. I’ve learned a lot from the people that watch my videos. They’re a great information source.
