I was looking at this part along with the super air intake replica to get something a bit more reliable than open trumpets on my 20v when it comes to intake temps, and I was wondering about the two tabs underneath the plenum, are they sturdy enough to properly latch on without breaking?
I had the same concern. The tabs on the OEM metal plenum are under quite a bit of stress (at least it seems so when removing the part), but for whatever reason; the carbon ones are not so stressed. I guess the material is thinner. I have installed and removed the carbon part twice and it is still fine. One thing I have noticed is that the clear finish on the carbon fibre may get damaged from the original screws and tabs. If you want to protect it, use bigger washers and something to protect the tab from direct contact with the metal. Cheers.
Well basically it looks good, sounds good and makes your bank account a bit lighter. As far as IAT is concerned; carbon fibre has a lower thermal conductivity than the steel. But does this have any significant effect on intake temperatures? My guess is probably not. Pricing can be found on Carbon Microsystems website. Thank you.

What is the cost my friend? Does this keep the iat lower? Did you notice anything else apart from sound? Thank you
