posting a day early again before our holiday tonight because you guys were so eager for this one! 🥰 comment below your advice about the kitchen backsplash bc I have NO IDEA 😅❤️
My thought on the backsplash is whether you think a vertical layout to go with the vertical lines on the cabinets or a horizontal layout to go against the vertical lines on the cabinets would work better for the space.
Of those options, vertical splash. And if you try or envision it and it feels like a no, go with what makes you feel at home in your space! #decorgalore Also, for that top shelf! What about the black thrifted pottery piece you almost used for wooden spoons? A little bit of fake winding ivy around the base?
- decor galore - I think brick style will look beautiful, because you already have vertical lines on your upper doors so it would create a nice contrast. The utensils would look nicer, if they came a bit higher up, maybe you could stuff a bit of paper in your holder. You’re absolutely right, I save a tons of recipes, but practically never go back and try some😢.The little marble thing you put on your shelf is named mortar and pestle. I think a "String Of Pearls" plant could look nice on the top shelf. I absolutely love how the floating shelves came together🤎🤍🤎
here's my opinion about the backsplash.....vertical will make that whole wall look like one huge stripe ( because the cabinets have a vertical stripe on them ....I think horizontal tile will give the wall a more textured look and make the cabinets stand out instead of disappear
I love the brick backsplash, it would look beautiful and really tie in the colors of your gorgeous kitchen. A spider plant hanging down from the top shelf might be cute. Love your videos!! ❤
I love how you show that decor doesn’t have to be expensive and that you can do some minor DIY, clean up, etc. of thrifted pieces, and it doesn’t have to be overwhelming! I think a plant hanging down off the top shelf of those corner shelves is a great idea!
I love the look of the vertical backsplash but for your kitchen something is telling me that the horizontal backsplash would look better! I just love your videos🩷🩷🩷
@21:09 is a mortar for crushing nuts, garlic, etc I would add an herb plant on the last shelf ( basil, parsley etc). I also use cookbooks to decorate. Nice decorating.
Decor galore! You're definitely one of those people who has a gift for making things beautiful, Haley! In my opinion, I think vertical tiles would give the kitchen a more rustic and classy look, but brick style might be a nice contrast to your vertically-lined cabinets and decor! 🤍🤍🤍
The marble utensil that you put on the shelf (which really works btw) is called a mortar and pestle, something that gets used at my home often! Everything is looking so good Haley, you're killing it! Also, I think a horizontal backsplash would really work, as you have so many vertical objects and the cabinets too. The horizontal would weigh it all out! Lots of love from an Irish girlie
little marble tool: mortar and pestle. I have open shelving and LOVE storing my dishes out. they don't get too dusty if you use them regularly and its so handy to have things at reach when cooking. you'll love it! also- the drooping plant is a pathos. I also have those on my open shelves and the life it brings is great! and they love being by the kitchen window. when the vines get too long, just snip them off and put in water and grow roots and grow yourself a free plant from clippings!
My plant recommendation is english ivy! It's super easy to take care of and definitely different from pothos but still grows as a vine. Its a super pretty deep green and gives almost like a whimsical fairy cottage feel
String of pearls plant in a cute vase would look so cute on that empty top shelf! Maybe some more cookbooks but standing vertically with some cute book ends! Just a suggestion :) Loved the video as always
22:41 a picture made from kitchen tile possibly framed💕or small Medium LARGE Mirrrors for the shelf you need some fake flowers from Michael’s craft store to put there 🙏🕊️
The horizontal backsplash for sure! Because vertical suits only for small kitchens. You have so big area with high ceilings so vertical will up space even more. Love your videos, keep filming 💛🍂
Haley, The horizontal backsplash would be gorgeous. For your second set of kitchen shelves, Love that you kept the floral set of frames and put one on each shelf to tie them together! Also the little marble thing you put on your kitchen shelf is called a mortar and pestle! What about adding faux flowers instead of a faux plant. Maybe like a faux white or pink flower so you can add a pop of color. If you get a clear vase you could always fill the bottom with pearls (like a soft pink or cream color or maybe even brass pearls) or something too! Maybe a pop of pink would be cute cause it would bring out the pink in the floral frames! Like a clear pleated/ribbeed vase would mix well with your other vertical ribbed pattern decor that you have! You could always add a family photo of you guys or photos of your daughters or frame a family recipe that you love too!
Your videos make my heart so happy! 💗 I love all the decor tips in his video! You shared so many good ideas. I love the idea of removing the book covers. Everything is looking so beautiful in the new house! 🎀 Decore Galore
Oh my gosh, you know it’s gonna be a great day when Haley posts!! I literally have been watching you for so long, and it literally puts a smile on my face How your dreams have been accomplished and your family has grown, your girls are literally the cutest ever!♥️ I pray and wish all the best for you and your family always u deserve it all💌
Decor galore! I think the brick backsplash goes with a cozy vibe( which is what I love) and the vertical is more modern/chic, so depends which you'd want!❤
Vertical stack will lengthen your space, especially all the way to the ceiling, whereas bring will probably bring it down a little but created a wider illusion. Depending on which you prefer to achieve, I think both options will look stunning!!
Looks really nice! I'd go with the vertical backsplash. And on the shelves, I'd move the items just a tiiiiny bit closer to the center - I think it makes them look more related to one another - and vary the sides you put the tall items on, just to keep the eye moving.
for the top shelf in the corner i would suggest a monstera adansonii! she’s very pretty and so easy to care for 🎉 you could also place some more books, like a mini bookshelf - especially for cooking/baking 📚🍴
Decor Galore!! I love the vertical backsplash, i think it would tie all the vertical lines in well. I think the plant youre thinking of is string of pearls! Would be so cute on that second shelf, or a string of turtles, also super cute. For the top shelf i would say maybe another pretty cookbook behind and maybe a larger cookware piece, like a dutch oven or casserole dish that you only use occasionally
Vertical tiles for the backsplash for sure, it’ll draw the eye upwards! Also I’d say get a bigger charcuterie board to put behind bowls on the corner shelves because it has a lot of blank space and maybe add a plant there (a smaller spider plant or snake plant would look good with a nice colored pot) and for the top shelf I’d say to put a hanging plant opposite side of the lower shelf plant and maybe put some cook books up there standing upright and a cute candle holder next to it
Hey Haley, with the decor, your kitchen is looking fantastic, I would not change a thing. ❤️ love it. I think the brick would look wonderful as you have so many horizontal lines already but you will know what is right for your home. Enjoy Canda and cannot wait for the next decor galore video. ❤
I agree the top shelf could do with a plant. I also think some pretty metal tins would look nice. Tins for things like cookies. The old ones look really characterfull, you just need to fine ones with the right shades to match your decor
Decor galore! Love the decorating content so much! I’d say for the backsplash do horizontal, also the choice of doing the white pot for your utensils is a lot better in the sense of cleaning! The black pot looked like it would be a hard texture to get fully clean if you need to. Also idea - maybe move either the little lamp OR the candlesticks to the other side of coffee pods or plates (respectively) to break up the height of the gold decor, right now they are in roughly the same place on both shelves! Maybe the black pot on the top shelf of your corner shelves could look cool? Still Include that gorgeous pot but make it a decor piece verses a functional piece. I hope your family has a lovely holiday!
Haley!!! You did such a wonderful job!! It looks amazing. 🤩 and oh my word. You have given me such great tips on decor and thrifting techniques!!!!! ❤❤ super helpful and I am grateful for your beautiful content. I can tell you love what you do.
Being a personal decorator I would do vertical backsplash because it would enhance your space and make your kitchen look very elegant and keep the atmosphere fresh and modern.
Thursday is one of my favourite days because of your videos 💕🥹 I think the horizontal backsplash would look so amazing in the kitchen I think it’s more suited to the area the other backsplash seems a bit different than the aesthetic you’re going for!! Decor galore 😂❤
in terms of the backslash, I've seen it where it's horizontal everywhere except behind the stove. especially since all of the colors are neutral, having a different pattern behind the stove could add more dimension to your kitchen and be a fun detail
Heart leaf philodendron!! It’s my favorite and the green is beautiful!! Also the lemon lime maranta is also beautiful and my other favorite! They are both so easy to take care of! Also I suggest to tile the tile horizontal. It’s timeless. Decor galore!
Beautiful! Love that you thrifted so much! I think later the checkered cutting lard behind the small board to add more visual interest on the first shelf by the stove. There is pattern and color by the coffee station and need to pull some into the other end.
Decor galore! I love the warmth and color you are adding to your home. A tip for balancing each shelf that people use is to alternate colors and height with each self. Hard to explain but if you have height on the left of the bottom shelf (on the back wall shelves of your kitchen) with the mango charcuterie board, it might be better to put the tall colored frame on the right side of the second shelf. However you did the right thing by diagonally doing the colors of the two mugs and the frame! Honestly you’ll change it a million times as you find more stuff and that’s the beauty of it 🥰❤️
- Decor galore - Vertical backsplash for sure! It would suit you and your house so well. And a good hanging plant is called a pearl plant or string of pearls
Haley! My daughters LOVE your videos. We love the subway tile option for your kitchen backsplash. The vertical ones look best. And we would love to introduce you to the money plant for your upper shelf. They are so pretty!!! ❤
Decor Galore! Hope you guys enjoyed Thanksgiving with family. I enjoy the evolution of your kitchen and definitely think the vertical tile look will mimic the fluting of your dishes. Thanks again for a fantastic video ❤

Decore galore! For the backsplash, i like the vertical tile material but since you already have so many other vertical lines i would do the horizontal tile ☺️.
Love what you have done so far and I would suggest a brick backsplash especially for your French country aesthetic. It’s what I’ve seen the most on Pinterest in the kitchens of French country aesthetics
Decor glore. …. I love you Hailey !! Instead of that go for country style for the kitchen backdrop instead of modern theme it looks so home like and special that way
Decor galore ... pottery pitcher and books will look nice on that top shelf. Also those candle holders need some thrifted candle sticks, Here are my suggestions but everything loos so good so far. You are also giving me ideas for my own place.💕
Since you have so many verticals, I think the tiles should be vertical as well. And it makes the kitchen look bigger✨ I like your coffee station very much!I dream of having a coffee corner like this one☕️ Very excited to see your kitchen decor completed! And already I decided to build a ring station in my kitchen💍That's soooooo noce idea︎💕︎
i am LOVING how your home is coming together!! brick style for black splash! something about the vertical just looks off putting/ odd to me. decor galore! 🥳🥳
It is called mortar and pestle 💕 Here in India you will find it in every household and we use it to crush spices, make spice powders and chutneys. VERTICAL
Hey, that thing is called mortar and pestle we Pakistani's use it for hand grinding our spices sometimes because it gives good taste to the food.
Are you Jewish? If so happy sukkot!
Of those options, vertical splash. And if you try or envision it and it feels like a no, go with what makes you feel at home in your space! #decorgalore

I think I’m leaning that way too!

Yes Pesto and Mortar
Decor galore! You're definitely one of those people who has a gift for making things beautiful, Haley! In my opinion, I think vertical tiles would give the kitchen a more rustic and classy look, but brick style might be a nice contrast to your vertically-lined cabinets and decor! 🤍🤍🤍
Aw how kind of you! 😍 and yes both are such good points ahhh idk! ❤
The horizontal brickstyle would look sooo beautifull
The horizontal brickstyle will definitly give it more character and i feel like the vertical style will clash withe the vertical line on the cabinets.
Decor Galore! Such cozy vibes in your kitchen! I think the horizontal brick style backsplash would look amazing!!!
In those 3 shelves next to the cupboard, i would use the second shelf for cooking books and the highest one with the frame and candelabra
The marble utensil that you put on the shelf (which really works btw) is called a mortar and pestle, something that gets used at my home often! Everything is looking so good Haley, you're killing it! The vertical would look so good! Because, it has beautiful texture and the colors are stunning! 😍
For the lamp with the broken button you can get a remote controlled light bulb off of Amazon and stick it in there so it’s actually functional!
Omg SO smart!! I love that totally doing it do it ❤
Decor galore! The kitchen looks great! Horizontal backsplash is perfect! Top empty shelf should have a nice either kitchen or an inspirational quote.
The horizontal backsplash for sure! Because vertical suits only for small kitchens. You have so big area with high ceilings so vertical will up space even more. Love your videos, keep filming 💛🍂
Vertical backsplash would look amazing !!!
That ceramic on the bottom shelf is a pestal and mortar to crush whole spices. Love all the decor!!

Yup that's right - dried wheat grass and an open candle flame. That's great.
Being a personal decorator I would do vertical backsplash because it would enhance your space and make your kitchen look very elegant and keep the atmosphere fresh and modern.
I think a cake stand with a cake glass cover would look nice there. On that top shelf.
Decor galore! I like the brick style since there's vertical lines throughout your kitchen! Your kitchen is beautiful ❤
I definitely like the horizontal brick backsplash. And the little marble bowl thing is called a mortar and pestle. I have a few, I love them.
The vertical style backsplash is elegant, so that’s my vote

Vertical, for sure!! You have such a good eye for items!

Yes definitely a plant that hangs for that top shelf!
Decor Galore ❤I think what you’ve already done looks beautiful 😊
I love the brick style. Only because that style will last longer than the vertical will. I love your kitchen.
Also it would be too much vertical lines if your backsplash is also vertical.💁♀️
This video was very satisfying to watch! 😍 I love the vertical tiles for the splash back. That is my vote! 🗳️

Guest room is so cool and love that rug. Your home is gorgeous! Brick wall in the kitchen.
Decor Galore. Marble Motor and pestle. It is used to grind small ginger or garlic when to want to put in your tea or dishes.

It is called mortar and pestle 💕
