- Found 2 groms on the beach using a crappy skimboard and I had both my skimboards for them to use. I gave them some tips and tricks to increase their skills. #skimboarding #shorts

I think he's calling them "groms" which may be short for "grommets" which is Australian slang for beginner surfers and skiers.
A good tip is sprint for plenty of momentum and drop the board don’t throw it in front of you🤙🏼😎

I have a wooden skim board and I usually don’t go into the ocean I go along the shoreline when there is like 1mm or 2 of water left

Garret, I’ve never been skimboarding before and I’m having trouble getting on the skimboard after my throw. It is just a simple wooden one with no grips. Do you have any tips for me?

Fuxk I could do about that much when I was probably about their age, I stopped doing it probably because I started surfing more but i tried doing it for the first time in a hella long time and it was hella hard, I couldn’t believe I got that far with it

I just thrifted a Meyer brand skim board for $12.99 for my boys and cleaned all the sticky goo from it. Now realizing maybe it is supposed to have sticker treads. OOPS. Did I make a bad purchase? Can some kind soul tell this mama if I need to buy sticky tred and apply it? Thanks, friends!
