OnePlus 12 has 16 gigs of ram for the 516 storage one.
And if you order now and trade in any ancient non working phone sitting somewhere, you get the OnePlus 12 512GB for $699. 😮
What I love about OneUI is the ability to use modes and routines to set a work mode that puts my phone into DND and power saving mode the moment I arrive at work. It means that I get home at roughly 80% left on my battery. And that's after a 10+ hour day.
I already have the OnePlus 12 pre-ordered, and I wouldn't pick any other phone, but I have to admit that the matte display on that S24 Ultra is incredible, and I think it's better for outside visibility than brute forcing like the OnePlus.
Every matte PC monitor is washed out compared to glossy , all over reddit s24 ultra owners are complaining about washed out color , they say it's a bug , lol hope so for their sake
@@Dx-so7jm Yeah, that's a problem with all matte displays that you can't really circumvent. Matte displays have a rough surface that scatters light in various directions, which in turn makes them look less vibrant. Samsung can try to bump up the colours through software but they will never look as good as if they were shown on a glossy display. I still believe they look better just because of how they won't reflect bright sources of light as much, so outdoors you'll probably still be able to see the display even at a lower brightness.
As a S23 owner n someone that was going to buy S24u I changed my mind. The DC Dimming and PWM on One12 is amazing. The flicker from Samsung's gives me eye strain and headaches.
@@frazmeup Saving money on the phone and health care, two birds with one stone! I wonder how much it will help, I'm still a bit sceptic. I suffer a lot from headaches, and I do get them sometimes with my OnePlus Nord, we'll see how much better the 12 is.
The display is not matte, just anti reflectiv but the texture remains glossy.
I have s24+ and the same problem with color, it’s a software issue@@Dx-so7jm
S24 Ultra price= 2× Oneplus 12 😅. Using my new Op12 from yesterday. Compared enough with S24 ultra in hand before buying. Op12 is sensible deal
how is it after 2 weeks
How is it ?
Actually the S24 Ultra was cheaper for me than the OnePlus 12 due to a bunch of discounts Samsung offered at the time.
OnePlus 12 all day. 45 watt fast charging on a 1300 phone is just crazy.
S23 ultra was my last Samsung, I upgraded to the OnePlus 12
How has it been i am thinking of upgrading from s23 ultra to one plus 12
@@johannwilliams3779 if you have another family member that needs a phone or an upgrade you could give them the s23 ultra which is what I did, then trade in an older phone for the OnePlus 12
@@johannwilliams3779
I bought it today it's a wonderful phone
OnePlus 12 gets the basics pretty good while also shining in some aspects for way cheaper price
Its Chinese 😂
What's wrong with a phone being made from a Chinese company? Samsung is from Japan so what's the difference there?@@umeshraj2664
@@umeshraj2664 and it can also charge faster, battery lasts longer, screen is brighter, and the fucking charger comes in the box. What's your point?
@@adamrush8360his point is being a dumbass Samsung troglodyte. Ive used Samsung all my life and even yet, I attest OnePlus having many victories over Samsung.
@@adamrush8360 He has no point.
To me, features like the water touch, 360 degree antennas, the excellent haptics, smart dual battery setup and thermal readings to extend the life of the battery, little stuff like pixel layout and flicker rate... and on top of all that allow bootloader unlock and rooting... Oneplus has hit all the right notes for the kind of people who would care, and to me, completely make up for lack of AI features, which frankly will come to many Android phones across the next 2 software gens, particularly ones that have this chipset and newer.
The only thing I could wish for is the Samsung's form factor, and a display without a pinhole. Would love it if this phone and Nubia Z60 Ultra had a baby... Oneplus software and engineering, Nubia's under display selfie cam and form factor, Nubia's camera sensors, and Oneplus camera color science and algorithms.
Just the thought of an $800 phone is compared to a $1300 phone is bonkers.
Awesome as always, Kev! Excellent job
I want going to do it. Until I started using the phone. It holds up very well!
What's even madder is OP12 costs $699 if you import it from china.
Damn and I got the S24U 1 TB for $660 😮 . With the pre order special.
right now in EU there is only a 250€ difference
@@oc3144how lucky, here preorder price was 1449€
This is a good review. I think you were more fair to the OnePlus 12 camera than some other reviewers and I appreciate that.
Call it as I see it. Thanks for watching.
I love 1+ cameras
The front camera on the OnePlus 12 makes him look sick
Thank you for the video bro. Depsite the large delta in price they seems pretty close outside of the smart features. OnePlus is finally back to punching above its weight.
I love Samsung apps, Software, and S-Pen, anything else is just a phone.
Yeup and a much larger ecosystem of accessories which I have to include the tabs9 ultra. One plus isn’t competing in that. I don’t like the uneven bezels or the curve display on the one plus. I think the one plus is good as just a phone but nothing outside of that. And Samsungs one ui is fantastic esp when you down load good lock.
I do agree !
i use Samsung fold and rarely need the pen. Now the Display is kaputt. To get it repaired i could get a brand phone. So i ordered OnePlus instead of repairing it
Samsung's battery sucks
🔥 video as always dude! Great info and solid comparison.
Ye, Samsung has been way overpriced for years and years..
True but in my opinion the best phone I owned was the honor magic 5 pro with 8gen2 and 5100 mah which surpassed both the iPhone 15 pm and s23 ultra in battery drain test my s23 ultra after one ui 6.0 had it's battery life dropped quite a bit anyway I'm waiting for 25th February 2pm Barcelona global launch of the honor magic 6 pro with 8gen3 and 5600 mah I just can't believe no one is barely talking about honor
@@Avner-sj2ky because the software and updates are downright trash
@@helterskelzer3883one ui is pretty decent
@@helterskelzer3883 you mean Samsung yes
And if u wait another year that price drops DRAMATICALLY.. I'm not a fan of the super big boxy shape
The trade in is better than you said.
They stacked for me. My trade in was worth $750 and I got the $100 off for any phone. Basically once my trade in arrives this is a $50 phone before taxes that comes with a charger, cable, and case in the box. I'll be sticking with One+ in the future I think.
It was not. My s22 ultra was only worth $400. I gave it to Samsung instead for 650. OnePlus phones never age well and always have a lot of bugs.
@@mjjones1045Not true! I'm still rocking my OnePlus 8T and it still runs great!
The really funny thing is, OP wirelessly charges faster than Sammy wire charges for $500 less 🤔🤔
The really funny thing is people calling Samsung Sammy 🥴
You all do realize that fast charging will degrade the battery faster! OnePlus phones do not age well at all. Always has tons of issues and updates introduce even more.
@@mjjones1045 using OP8 pro. It's been 4 years, still working like a champ.

Oneplus all the way. Great video ninja.
Outstanding review. Also the quality of your video, editing and so on. Thank you for such a great look at these two phones.
ill choose oneplus 12
- fast charging
- smooth ui
- big battery
- alert slider (i use alot)
ill miss alot of customization and AI stuff
but i hope
next year oneplus 13 will come with an AI feautres and anti reflective display
The AI features are software and can be added on other android devices that use same chip as S24 Ultra. Other phones will get the AI features in a matter of time, I would not worry about AI if you go with oneplus 12 as it has same chip. 👍
I'm sure you will get A.I features in OnePlus 12 after some software updates.
I give it 1 android update and the features are on oneplus too
One plus 12 has less bands for T-mobile vs. Samsung s24 has more bands for the network. so not only specs are crucial but connectivity too
Shame on Samsung to have that price and still One Plus are better in many ways. Shame on them... One Plus 12 100%
Great video! I love tech myself and looking to get into videos. Any advice on the financials of buying all this new tech?
Thanks for the nice review of the phones. As a nearly 75 year old guy I use my phone differently compared to a 25 year old. I ordered the OnePlus 12 phone since it does all that I need at a great price. Samsung has produced a technology tour de force and I can see why a power user would prefer the S24 Ultra. Both phones have appeal to their audiences.
Debating trading in my fold 4 for the s24 ultra. Can't beat 1k trade in.
Depends on your needs, ya know?
I need another one plus device. Using the s23 fe and I miss that fast charging
Was this video done before the updates on OP12?
Does this oneplus 12 include an IR blaster ?
Circle to search aka Google lens?
Nice job Kevin. The S24 is enticing me from my Pixel. I'll probably wait for the S25 though.
What’s up frank. Yeah s25 with more AI! 🤖
For the price OP12 is a great phone and kills the base S24 and iphone 15 in many aspects. The fast charging and Display tech is great too although OnePlus has been facing green lines issue on it's displays. S24U in my opinion has the best display, period. The colour calibration and it's sustained high brightness is fantastic.
Samsung has more updates, security, better camera's etc up it's sleeves. Then there's S-pen and Samsung's ecosystem. S24U is truly a beastly phone.
Cheers 🥂
I sent the S24U back. OP12 for the win. At least for me.
At 9:42 there is a problem. Its shows a background with "CAMERASAMPLE".
Should i switch from Zfold 5 to Oneplus 12??
One ui is stuttering and poor battery performance and charging speed..
Is the minimum brightness lower on the OnePlus or the Samsung?
Same I believe
You mention the Samsung has 100x zoom like 2 or 3 times but never mention the OnePlus has 120x zoom. Also, the OnePlus comes with an 80w charger in the states and 100w everywhere else.
Hwzit brother. Please do a comparison with the Realme GT5 Pro please vs these two or s24 ultra
can you pleeeeeeeeeease make a good camera comparison in different modes with oneplus 12 and iphone 15 pro max?
I only ever get the Samsung phones for the S Pen. And I find I use it less than I did. The IR blaster, aqua touch, and charging are bigger to me, these days.
So it seems that the quality of the pictures and videos are a bit better on the galaxy s24 ultra.
But is it worth the 500 dollars price difference ?
And what about screen protectors for the oneplus 12. Its a curved screen
How about the battery, which last longer?
Op lasts longer and charges 2x faster
I'm Glad this video is waiting on my new oneplus 12😍
Indeed on other markets OnePlus12 is a better option because of the price. But here in Europe (Romania) the S24 Ultra is 1245 EUR and the Oneplus 12 is 1038 EUR difference. So in my opinion, for Europe's prices the S24 Ultra is the better option. If we had prices like in the US, I would go for OnePlus12.
No trade in for OnePlus 12 in the UK - whether old non working or rival flagship..come on OnePlus why is this?? 🤔
PS The 1 + 12 offers 80 w fast charging in North america. It only charges at 100 w in the global and Chinese variance.
Just got the green 16gb 512gb one plus 12. The most beautiful phone i have ever seen and used. This is my 3rd oneplus phone. Had the 6t, the 8 5g, and now the 12. Definitely loving it
I'm just so glad there's something on the market to actually be excited about again, I've been with Samsung for 9 years now 👋 and they just refuse to upgrade the things I've wanted for years like battery size and charging speeds plus the cheery on top is the rounder edges of the OnePlus 12 and the lighter UI. I've personally been getting sick of the squared off phones and missed the S20 ultra and before look. lastly the price is so ridiculously good 😮
One plus 12 looks like my old S9+ design wise from the front.
Then the S24 ultra front looks like an iphone 5
I would compare it more to the s21 ultra
I wonder how that super fast charging will reflect on the battery life after 2 years on the One plus ?
My OnePlus 9 pro has 65 watt charging and is 2 and a half years old and the battery is still great.
They have 2 batteries in them that are charging separately so the wattage for each battery is not as high as you think.
im sure the s24 selfie has a brighter f stop than the oneplus and looks noticeably better in both low and great light. Selfies are always better with more established brands i have seen.
Which camera is better ? Ive samsung 24 ultra and thining abiut oneplus12 12 because of samsung camera which im not fan of
I don't understand why circle to search is such a big deal deal, Google lens is all it is and you can move the frame around or resize it on the picture and it does the same thing.
Because you don't have to leave the app and do all those extra steps
@@Mob3tta_01 you don't leave the app or the picture.
The AI features in s24 series are same as dynamic island... overhyped
After the honeymoon period most people will not bother with most of these AI features. More marketing as Samsung hasn't really innovated of late and the S24U is a sideways update over the S23U.
Here's my thoughts and summary
S24 Ultra
- If you take videos often, it looks MUCH better than OP, especially with the stabilization
- Much better screen IMO. Flat with rectangle shape looks amazing for content consumption (unless you like rounded corners). I read a lot of manga/webtoons and watch TH-cam/movies on my phone while traveling, and they look so much better on a flat+rectangle screen. It feels like watching on a small TV, while rounded corners feel like a tiny part of the content is getting cut off. Anti-glare is a huge bonus while outside despite lower HDR brightness, while rounded corners can sometimes look annoying and get glare on the edges.
- Note that AI features are going to be under a subscription by 2025, but circle to search looks incredibly useful. I feel like someone will be able to recreate that with an app by combining a shortcut key with google lens though for any phone
- I dont use S-Pen usually, but it in the rare cases you want to use a pen, it is good to have. Examples include triggering the camera with the pen, annotating on photos/screenshots to send to someone, and drawing on your phone during games like jackbox (these are specific examples for people like me who don't like to handwrite notes or draw like normal power s-pen users). You will randomly find use for it once in a while and feel glad you had it there, even if its not a daily use item
- OneUI - An extreme amount of cool customization with apps like GoodLock. It also has a much better always on display than Oxygen OS imo. GoodLock also has an extension to allow adding any widgets on the AOD, which I couldn't replicated in the latest OxygenOS.
- Ecosystem - if you plan to use a galaxy watch or galaxy buds, it will have just a few features that will work better, but not a deal breaker. But if you want to use a SmartTag finder, you can only use it with Samsung. I recently replaced my Tiles with them for the AR view and better app integration, and I like it for that reason.
OnePlus 12
- Battery and fast charging is the biggest advantage here. However, I feel like this is a rare use case. For most people, you will have enough battery life with either phone to last you an entire day, at which point you can plop it on a wireless charger as you sleep. The fast charging will only be useful for very rare cases where you forget to charge it imo, so for me that makes this point less important than I originally considered it to be.
- Oxygen OS - many people say it feels snapper and smoother than OneUI. I have had both OP and Samsung phones in the past, and OOS definitely has slightly nicer animations imo. Gestures like app switching are also slightly better. But I have also experienced/heard of some more bugs happening on it.
- RAM. Not sure how much of a difference this would make. Maybe if you have a lof of apps open, you can keep more of them in your RAM for quick resuming. Although 12GB seems good enough already, but it could be useful for power users.
- Price - if price is a big factor for you, then I would easily say go with the OnePlus 12. However, if you already have a samsung device with a good trade in deal, you can get the price pretty close
Other stuff
- If your main use is taking photos, definitely look more at samples to see your preference. It seems like they're both better at different types of photos
- If price is a big factor, OP 12 is an easy winner. You lose a lot of bells and whistles but it is a perfectly good phone on its own
Te falto hablar sobre el chip personalizado de One plus aparte del Snapdragon para juegos 😅
Samsung is cautious after the note 7 situation with its battery but i hope one day they do incorporate faster charging
that google image search option works on my Samsung Note20 Ultra
I think mostly on the price side it will be great to get the cheaper phone. But I really think with a trade in the s24 give you more with the s pen. If the s24 didnt have s pen then it's one plus hands down.
I've never been a Samsung guy but boy, that S24U display is sexy as hell.
Samsung is 400e for the brand, iphone is 700e for the brand. Thanks Oneplus 💪
I am having a hard time deciding between the two because I think the hardware of the OnePlus 12 is amazing for the price. However, for software, I think Samsung is better for me because I am already locked into their ecosystem. Is there a really good custom rom for OnePlus 12?
I have oneplus 12 since yesterday and this phone is abasolutely amazing. If you consider how much cheaper it is than the s24u then samsung has compromised itself.
Strong words.
Hey. May i ask how is the display ? Because in the videos it looks really washed out compared to s24 ultra.
@@redoyjoarder6330 There are a lot of color settings, you can set according to your preference. In general, I have no objections to it. It is very bright, in automatic mode sometimes too bright.

What about the s24 ultra doing 4k 120 fps video. I think it's the only phone that has that currently.
The only one feature I wanted in S12 was that anti glare display of s24..thats bloody rich looking. Otherwise op12 is a winner in my eyes
Anti glare is legit. It became even more legit when I was editing the video and I really saw the difference. Like - I want this on everything
Kev, I own S24 256gb, which I just bought in January. Exynos is good but heated. One UI is good, no doubt.
The last oneplus I used was 5. I was thinking of trading.
S24 is solid but I never used exynos chip. Bummer you can’t snapdragon over season for Samsung. Oneplus 12 is great. I really think it has a lot to offer over Samsung.
@@Techninjaspeaks I did buy it. Got a good exchange.
samsung needs to put the spen back on the right idc if that means moving the camera over to the other side to do so, left side was mad dumb im nit picking but still its weird af
But mate, i find the speakers of the oneplus way better than those of the s24u lol constantly having the s24U on max but its still not good enough, for the oneplus its great at 70 percent already
The ultra is just more premium and polished
What if the word ultra was the other way around
I feel like most regular people would be getting the base S24 or the S24 Plus
Not in the UK exynos version that's why I'm going for the op 12
Oneplus 12 is better in my opinion especially when you compare the $500 price difference, Charging speed and battery life. But S24U is a great phone too but I just think it is overpriced for $1300.
Never buying another OnePlus after the OnePlus Open failed in 3 days. That cheap price = cheap quality
I love the round corners on the OnePlus and the huge price difference also make sense along with what you get in the box; However, for me the camera is a priority so the Ultra makes more sense to me
there's nearly no difference, I do not think it's worth 500$ more
I got both as well. Honestly the oneplus is better. It feels more advanced in nearly every way except for the AI features.
Also feel like the camera is way nicer despite less mp. No grain or noise
I've always been a fan of OnePlus phones and software.. The Galaxy is too big and boxy for me and 1300 is too expensive and on top of that you're not getting a charger or even a case
Only TH-camrs recognize those spec
Please compare oneplus 12 with S24+ 🙏🙏🙏
I will never het another OnePlus phone i came from the OnePlus 9. Before thet i had the Note 9. ONEPlus feels cheap. And the screens arent so good. I just got the Samsung 24 Ultra last week im back on top i was a bottom feeder with that oneplus facts.
25 min charging to 100%??? Oh hell yess!,🎉😂
Samsung has evolved so much in a positive direction when it comes to video, both front and rear camera. Much much better than earlier galaxy phones. Almost as good as iPhone now. OnePlus need to go a long way to even get that quality.
Oneplus 12 does not come in a 1TB model (at least not in the US) so that’s a deal breaker for me in 2024 plus 7 years of Android updates for S24 should factor into the long term value proposition as well.
And the fact Samsung been around longer and has the s pen, and more features I would bet on Samsung and Apple over OnePlus
You can order the 1TB version. And it still works perfectly in the U.S.!
@@Da7thNemesisDid you order the one TB version? I'm asking because one thing I don't like is that they have the white version which is not available in the US market and they have a 24 gig 1 TB phone but it's not available in the US.
@@GC3-22 That's the one i'm talking about. I'm about to get it next month!
@@Da7thNemesis What cell phone service do you have and did you check to make sure that it is compatible with your network?
The OnePlus 12 is an awesome phone for the price, but OxygenOS is still not as good as it was once.
For example: Notifications on the lockscreen just disappear as soon as you unlock the phone, even if you don't do anything with them. They are still shown as icon on the always-on display, though. There is no setting to change that, which is absolutely dealbreaking for me personally.
You also sometimes cannot change the app language for single apps, but it works for the same apps in stock android. Why? I have no clue, but it seems OnePlus uses a different approach here.
Op12 for me
The anti-glare screen on the S24 Ultra is nice, but I'd be putting a screen protector on it, anyway. I do like that it's flat.
oh you have to pay for circle to search after 2 years which is kinda dumb

1️⃣ I think OnePlus 12 has a lot of qualities: OnePlus 12 pricing is interesting, power is there too.
2️⃣ but like many people i don’t like this curved display and camera module in the back🫤. Flat sides on OnePlus Open are so nice: one of my collegue owns one so i would have loved the same design on OnePlus 12.
3️⃣ Also, S24 Ultra brings a lot of features.

The circle to search can be done in any android phone as long as the pictures are being opened by google photos. I do it in my IPhone, it’s more seamless than stock photo app
Sounds like a win for one plus
The only problem I have with the OnePlus is the thickness. The phone has 9.2 mm thickness, that's really too much. I love thinner phones even if it's wider but thicker phones don't look comfortable in my
I would still keep my S22 ultra over the oneplus...
1:02, one plus didn't let me trade in my broken one plus 10r
You can but only get one off
I guarantee he will say the one plus i barley every heard him say anything good about Samsung.
Honestly in my region I've never seen a 1 plus phone so it's hard to say because Samsung is in control on this side
Same. I never seen oneplus in public
I have the one plus Nord 30 and I met a guy who had the one plus open it was awesome
It's funny because I've only seen the pixel phone one time in public I wanted to test it out but I didn't know the person 🤣😂
Are there any AI features on the OnePlus?
No
No, but they are currently working with Google on implementing some in a future software update. So there will be AI features coming to the OnePlus 12. I have never had a OnePlus phone, but I am pretty sold on the 12 now, I think it is going to be my next phone that I'm buying this week. It was between that and the S24 Plus, but the OP12 just offers so much for the price and I'm sure AI features will come in a future update as I'm fairly positive that has already been confirmed. And I love the look of the OP12, I'm not even a fan of green, but I love the look of that green one and that's the one I'm going to get even though it's only available in the higher tier version as the 12gb/256gb version is out of stock literally everywhere as far as I can tell. I even spoke with a OnePlus rep and they said that version was out of stock, so I guess the phone must be selling pretty well.

You’re welcome.
I’m not sure of the question though
@@Techninjaspeaks What is your choice? oneplus?? s24?
In all respects!!!
I think you meant to ask in what ways OnePlus is better than Samsung lol, you mistakenly wrote Oneplus both the times.
yeah well oneplus charges 100W wired while oneplus charges only 100W wired
For me the s24 ultra wins the comparaison because in europe the Oneplus is starting at 950€ with no trade-in. Where as with the s24 Ultra you can have 350€ extra when trading in an old phone.
Overall for photos i liked S24U better specially with front facing cam & the skintone is much sharper. And obviously in video S24U is better. But few occasions i liked the colors of OP12 more. And for the looks definitely it goes to S24U for me, it looks really premium & clean from the back.
I think the OP12 looks better
In contrary one plus looks better.
samsung's ecosystem is way better. Pairing with a smartwatch from samsung makes a big difference and some of samsung apps like samsung health is incredible.
my OP12 has 16gbs of ram :o
SGS24U has much better clarity and details. OP12 smears the sh1t out of everything.
Actually the sound on the 1 + 12 is Better
