Howdy folks, love Florence. If you haven't already done so, take the #7 bus to the hilltop town of Fiesole (it's the last stop, so you can't get lost). Visit monastery up steep road for spectacular views of Florence. Museum of Archeology (fantastic museum) with Roman amphitheater where you have a very good chance of being the ONLY visitor. Eat a gelato at the museum Cafe overlooking the Tuscan hills. Walk to Etruscan tombs. Walk to where Leonardo da Vinci's glider took off. Near sunset, get a seat at Le Lance de Fiesole and enjoy the sunset while enjoying dinner. Ciao
What a lovely couple and how wonderful they've found a new home in Florence! I would like to hear more about their budget, in particular, what it costs to rent this size apartment, was it furnished or did they buy furnishings, did they upgrade or need to fix anything and the timeline for moving. Also how much they spent to bring 13 boxes and 6 suitcases as this is close to what I think I would take. I realize each person's situation is different but it would be helpful to hear more specific details.
How delightful to have them share not only their personal day to day routine and adventures but also to see the apartment that was rented. I am just beginning my journey towards one day living in Italy and their apartment gives me a sense of what is available at what would be ( I'm pretty sure :- ) at the high... higher end of my budget. None the less appreciate the time and effort it took for this video to be created . Many thanks to all involved .
I thought this cute couple looked familiar. Was nice meeting you both in the neighborhood at Santa Felicita during Rificolona. We still need to plan our walk. :) Ciao
Ciao, I'd be curious to know how they are handling healthcare in Italy, he is obviously on Medicare. That is I think the biggest question of a lot of retired Americans. I know you have to be a permanent resident to apply for it, but what about if you can't do that or don't want to? Thanks for the video! Saluti!
@@dianamartin9558 I buy that when I travel already, but I am talking about coverage for extended visits, it can get very, very pricey. Is there something I don't know???? I have researched it recently, and it seems that there are limits to the number of days you can be covered reasonably. I can't (and wouldn't even if I could afford it) spend $5K a year on insurance. There must be something I am not aware of
Ciao! We have an episode on navigating healthcare as an expat, you can tune in here www.sentiremedia.com/show/anewlifeinitaly/s2-ep-7-navigating-italian-healthcare-as-an-expat/ . It's true that you need to declare residency to join the national/public system.
Lovely couple, makes sense to leave a rural life in the States for an urban, walking-friendly city like Florence. Just some constructive feedback for the content creator(s) here: the style of music did not match the vibe of the video at all and the volume was way too high, it totally distracted. Otherwise really good content! Thanks
Considering that we are in beautiful Tuscany, we are in Italy, and Italy as we know offers great music! They could also have put another type of music in the background, more suited to the landscape.
In fact, for the wonderful Tuscany another type of music would be needed. By the way, let's not forget that here we are in Italy and Italy offers, as we know, great music !
What wonderful people are moving to beautiful Italy 💙💙💙💙💙💙
"take the language seriously" Thanks God somebody said it!
Welcome to Italy 💖
What a beautiful home and lifestyle. What in idyllic way to spend the evenings 😍

Thanks!!
Great video. What a wonderful life. It’s too bad there’s distracting loud music in the background of your video.
living in Florence is just amazing. i live between Florence (4 months) and Hong Kong (8 months). I feel the luckiest man on the planet
Thanks for sharing and continue enjoying your beautiful cities!
Benvenuti in Italia!
Grazie!!

Would be nice to know how much their rent is. Even ball park.
And the square footage plus how many beds and baths.
Great story....such a lovely location and apartment!

Most buy international healthcare to cover them outside the US.

So you rented…do you have paperwork that allows you to live there full time?
@@smartmoveitaly Ciao, grazie mille!
That's the retirement lifestyle I'm dreaming of
Good choice !

Wow nice rental!
I love watching these videos but please have the music at a lower volume. It becomes difficult to focus on what is being said.
Thank you for this video! However the music is extremely distracting 😬
Glad you enjoyed and thanks for your feedback!
that background music so annoying and doesn't fit! kinda ruined it
Annoying music. I muted and just read the captions. It’s a shame because the interview and footage of Florence are good.

Too bad the music!
The music is more suitable for an apartment in Fort Worth Texas not beautiful Tuscany.

That loud country music -distrazione fastidiosa, irrilevante.
Tra l’altro, trattandosi dell’Italia, potevano anche scegliere un altro tipo di musica da mettere in sottofondo, più adatto a questo video.
What is with the HORRIBLE background music in this great video??
Is she his daughter?
🤣🤣🤣. I would say, "no". Listen from 08:33 to find your answer.
