Thank you, Kay, for explaining the ladders and the tension, because it does look far too loose at the beginning. As I am trying to get myself back into knitting, especially with socks, I have been struggling with over tightening those stitches after the needle changes, which really does compound the problem, just as you said! I have been far too stressed over every little imperfection, and I realized that I just need to relax and trust the process. You would think that I had never made a sock before! 🙄🤣 I have been my own worst enemy! I would have continued stressing myself and continuing with this problem, had you not explained it this way!

I have been a magic loop knitter for many years… bought a set of flexi flips just for kicks….and because I am addicted to “new techniques”. The addies are not sharp enough…so just ordered the Hiya Hiya….. your tutorial is fabulous… picked up a few great tips ❤❤❤. Will be watching more of your videos soon.

Thank you for this tutorial for knitting an entire sock on flexi-flips. I’ve knit only a couple pairs of socks, all on flexi-flips, but always got confused on how to arrange the stitches across the needles during the different sections of the socks. Your instructions were great, easy to understand, and the video quality was excellent! Thank you!!

SO helpful; I’ve been struggling with trying to get to grips with everything to do with socks, and starting from zero knowledge of socks at all, with the HiyaHiya Flyers; I know how to do magic loop, and love it; I’m allergic to dpns except for making iCords! And watching classes where they use dpns and say, ‘oh, it’s easy, you can do this in magic loop if you want to’ doesn’t help if you haven’t already knitted dozens of pairs of socks. So your video has been a life saver; I’ve finished my first very small sample/learning-curve sock entirely thanks to you. A few mistakes, but not many. The real art of teaching is to put yourself in the shoes (or socks…) of someone who knows nothing; so few people really do that. You do, and I’m eternally grateful.

I use 3 chiaogoo 9" circular needles instead of hiya hiya flyers. They aren't as pokey, plenty of room for gusset increases, not as fiddly as other methods. I prefer this way over 9" circulars because I'm a tight knitter and get a real spiral going with them.

This is embarrassing but I've been knitting for 11 years and never knew how to count rows by looking at my knitting. I always have used the tally marks you mentioned. Being able to look at my knitting and know which row I'm on will help make it more portable, so thank you so much! I also ordered a pair of Hiya Hiya flyers and can't wait to give them a spin :)

I have the Red Lace Shorties set by ChiaGoo and I got extra needle tips and the 2” cords so when I want to try my hand at doing Flexi-Flips or Flexible Flyers, I am prepared. Work out great on top down socks, heel flap - it’s managed! The longer tube part of the sock I often do on 9” circulars if it’s all stockinette, if its a texture or cable of lace, the 8” trio of needles is the way to go or Magic Loop, easier to manipulate a lot of transitions of knit to purl or cables.

I've just bought a set of flyers to try after watching videos of you and others knitting with them. I'm a DPN knitter, but I only use 4 needles mostly because that's what sets I have but also it's a tad easier than knitting with 5. I've put the front stitches on a circular to hold when I'm knitting the heel and sometimes forget to move stitches back to my DPNs this also has encouraged me to give the flyers a go. I agree with what you said it's great to have options 😉💜

This is the best sock pattern and video using flexi-fllips. I am a new sock knitter who gets discouraged very easily. I have made a few mistakes but am determined to keep going. My concerns right now are I have one more stitch on one needle than the other and what I have done so far doesn't resemble knitting in the round! I also don't know how to count the 20 rows/rounds before I do the leg. Do I count a row after I do both the front and back or count a row after I do the front and then count again after I do the back? I'm going to stick with it! Besides, I hate the Magic Loop! Thanks for this video.

So, are you still using these, or have you gone back to another system?

I’m working on my first pair of socks (toe up) and I’m using flexiflips. I’m getting such bad laddering, what can I do?

Try pulling the 2nd stitches on the needles tighter.

How do you ever get one of Mandi’s Makings share a pair??! I always see her Etsy store saying she is away for awhile and there is nothing on her website. I’m so frustrated trying to snag a set!🤦🏻‍♀️

Hi. I appreciate the video but you had me a little confused. You kept saying you're supposed to have x number of stitches on needle two but there were two needles on the back that had stitches. Which one was needle two?

Need 1 is the front of the sock. Needle 2 is the back of the sock.

I go over all needle sizes in the video, and they are listed below the video and in the written pattern as well

On my third attempt, this time is not perfect but acceptable. Not used to the small sized needles
