It took just three weeks for the album of which this was the Title single to go gold in the USA. Unfortunately, we did not see a lot of it in Australia, but I am fortunate enough to have a gold record award of it.
Sadly the song that ended their run of 10 out of 10 top ten singles (No.16), and would be their last top 20 hit. r.i.p Les, I don't think you ever got the credit you deserved as a vocalist, I always loved your voice.
yup 77 was last year of chart success... they were running on fumes after that... a few paydays in 78 (the american tv show and the japanese tour) but that was the end of major market success for them
@@richardleigh9161 Me too. I think the Strangers in the Wind LP was their downfall personally. Duncan helped get their music back on track with Elevator after that.
I saw the Rollers in concert in May 1977 in Pittsburgh, PA. I went to 3 stores to buy tartan to sew on my jeans and shirt and they were all sold out. A sales lady asked me, "Why are so many of you girls trying to buy plaid?" I told her it was for the Rollers. I begged my Mom to let me cut up a plaid jumper dress that my grandmother made. It was too small for me anyway, and we had other dresses that my grandmother had made, so my mother reluctantly let me cut it up. It was blue and purple.
Who cares about listening to the song with those gorgeous accents, I could sit and listen to them talk all day long, Back then when they were hot. Big part of my growing up the early days that is.
hi jim, it's jenni. pat finally did get some credit for his work on it's a game, but in the cd rerelease, it still lists sweet virginia as having been a group project, even though he wrote that himself!
I agree about Pat getting some credit. I was actually surprised to see this song with him in it. He got cut out of everything else regarding the LP. Not too fair to him I think.
I saw this concert in Portland. It is sad how badly they were ripped off but I thought they had someone helping them to try and recover some of the money they are due?
Ok, so who was all in the group at this time period besides Pat McGlynn? Eric Faulkner? Why did Artista records remove Pat's image and credits from the album?
that's not ian in this, it's pat.. i used to have a pen pal who got to know pat in scotland. she said he's one of the sweetest people ever and is very sensitive. what you took as above it all may have been just nerves
He WAS fired, but his picture, name and credits were removed from the album right before it was due to hit the shelves. As for Paddy's vocals, the label SAID they'd been removed, but I don't believe a word of it!
they only put one song on the album that McGlynn contributed to. Sweet Virginia. Yes McGlynn is listed as one of the songwriters on the album. Why lie?
パットのit's a game レアですね✨✨✨👍
So very happy is saw them in 1978. Part of my memories for ever!

All these years later, Eric still makes my knees go weak!

I never saw these videos before. If I'd seen them when they were made I would have been going insane, lol! :)
We had no youtube,lol.
BCR Mania in the 70 tis... Les was my Favourite, lovely man. Rest in Peace.🎄🌹⭐
OMG! Never saw this video before. Love it and thank you.
I m a big of. them since 1975
Wow - I've never seen this before - they were hip to official music videos before MTV. :)
The song that gave the BCR's career such a blow it never recovered!
sorry disagree

Superb single.
I love 💘 this video
Pat was here and he was great .
This video is great!.. and it's good to see poor Pat McGlynn right before he was fired, or quit, or whatever.
Great quality clip of a rare video...well done Koumatsu
Very good pop/disco track.
Those childhood memories with an ace song
i like that i remember most of my childhood
Nice background! Fitting! The great game of polarity. Nice masonic touch lol

I saw them in Boston, May the same year. My best friend and I making our "Roller gear" is a memory I still cherish.
love this xxx
Who else loves their Scottish accents in this song?
Who cares about listening to the song with those gorgeous accents, I could sit and listen to them talk all day long, Back then when they were hot. Big part of my growing up the early days that is.
✨R.I.P.✨Les✨
Love this song and video!
First record I ever owned, won at a fair!
I don't think you won !

Farewell Les.
💛 WOODY 💛
Oh Les and Ian. ;3
This timeline, somehow I felt their separation is getting close.
I saw this concert in Portland. It is sad how badly they were ripped off but I thought they had someone helping them to try and recover some of the money they are due?
Man, this protovideo has to be ancient....
(Protovideo since I think this was prior to the official invention of the video)
Title track from the fabulous It's A Game LP. The best songs from that album should have become much better known. My tartan is for LES!
✨R.I.P.✨Les✨
Ok, so who was all in the group at this time period besides Pat McGlynn? Eric Faulkner? Why did Artista records remove Pat's image and credits from the album?
For the same reason HE was removed from the group-it was a "managerial decision"!
that's not ian in this, it's pat.. i used to have a pen pal who got to know pat in scotland. she said he's one of the sweetest people ever and is very sensitive. what you took as above it all may have been just nerves
yes Jenni!! that is Pat.....we will always know- huh? I actually liked this song.😀
Is that Gregg Brady/Johnny Bravo?
Adolph Zuckerjew where?
I have a question. If Pat was fired, and his contributions were taken out of the songs, how was he in this video? The song seems complete..
He was fired but but Sweet Virginia was left on the album and he did get co-songwriter credit.
He WAS fired, but his picture, name and credits were removed from the album right before it was due to hit the shelves. As for Paddy's vocals, the label SAID they'd been removed, but I don't believe a word of it!
WHERE R U WOODY...LOVE U
dopo anni ho trovato questa canzone
Why does this remind me of 'My Lovely Horse'?
feeling unwell now
Pat wrote at least 3 songs on the album and never got credit for them. Still don't know why this was done to him. pat love you.
they only put one song on the album that McGlynn contributed to. Sweet Virginia. Yes McGlynn is listed as one of the songwriters on the album. Why lie?
@@ladylyrichere9373 He also co-wrote Dance Dance Dance and Love Fever, but because of the way his contract read, he never got credit for ANYTHING!
Hey,amigo,add us as your friends!
