I am so thankful for these videos. I use to live in Colorado and Wyoming and I miss driving mountain roads. I now live in flatland, Kansas. I crave so often to be able to go drive in the mountains again. Probably will never be able to. I am now 82 and don't drive anymore. These videos feed my traveling urge and they make me feel like I am traveling again to my favorite places I have been. Thank you so much for this.
I lived in Silverton in the early 70s. My place was above what is now Rocky Mountain Gifts, in the purple building and managed a bookstore that was on the first floor. I had to make a weekly trip to Ouray for groceries as there was no real grocery store in Silverton back then. I haven't been there in a few decades, but I can see from your video that the road is in much better condition now than it was 50 years ago.
Ouray and Silverton are located in southwestern Colorado, tucked in the San Juan mountains. These town were bulting during the mining.I was driving from Ouray to Silverton once, passing Telluride.I was driving the UN 55O N route , it's only about 45 minutes drive ...a very beautiful route, calm, with lots of beautiful landscapes. Thank you for the beautiful video, I enjoyed watching it. Thanks from Chicago, Illinois. Greetings.
incredible video. Just returned from Ouray back to GJ. I was going to bring my camera but made a huge error. The drive to Ouray was incredibly beautiful. The overcast seemed to bring out something in the snow covered red rocks and the snow on the trees. Planning a trip there in January...I won't make that mistake again. Thank you for sharing this....👍👍👍👍
Was on that road a small number of times in the '90s and '00s. Friends (since lost touch with) lived in Durango. The last time I did that road, we were following an elderly couple in a giant Buick, going 5 mph slower than the already-slow speed the road demanded, and on the winding section into Ouray, the strong odor of burning brakes in the air. Downshift to get engine braking for descending long grades, people!
Always an awesome drive. I use to make the drive from Durango to Meeker three to four times a year, but I haven’t made it in three years. It’s funny how life changes.
Thanks for posting this. I was anxious about driving this tomorrow but I see that the route from Silverton to Ouray hugs the mountain on the really scary parts. Glad to not be doing it the other way though!
Why does colorado do that 😮 no railing where there are huge drop offs ???? ( but a guard rail where there isn’t !!) thot they would’ve completed that by now 😅 thanks for gorgeous drive tho..
The last message. I got from you. That also had a time reference on it. You referenced. My equivalent of 11 AM. So guess what time it was when I just called you now?--- that's right, 11 AM. That will teach me to call you.
The message that I got from you that had a time reference on it. Said to call you at my equivalent 11. And then that was my morning on Monday morning. So guess what? It was just that n make clock my time when I called you. That'll teach me to call you.

I’m so glad you enjoyed it! I love driving around this great country, and sharing it with other people.
I turn 74 this year and know it's now or never. I spent 20+ years trucking and sure miss the mountains.

I love that road. It was nice to see Ouray not crowded. Thank you for that video.
Beautiful day and a great job on this video! Having driven that road a few times, it was sure nice to relax and look out the window without a care 😄.

This road reminds me of a small town outside Big Sky, Montana. Most of Northwest is beautiful. My god ❤
Beautiful ride, thanks love that part of Colorado 👍👍
A beautiful drive through some beautiful country.

You took the Million Dollar Highway in winter?! Well done.
Nice tour Larries!
I drove that road last summer, in my 23 ft. motor home, once was enough .
Salut magnifique endroit.👌🌟🥰🥰🥰❄️🎄

@@LMGSvideos ok super👌🌟🇺🇸
We rode the narrow gauge one year and drove it another..but in Fall. THEN moved to Whitefsh, Mt!
Beautiful!!!
Love the video, I can’t say the same for the music, any music
I feel like I have to have some music for my videos. Beats the wind noise the mics pick up, and you can always turn it down. Glad you liked it.
Prefer the background road noise picked up by the mic. The music was off putting.
Здравствуйте! Спасибо за ваш труд. 👍 и ещё как, называется милодия.?

Now, turn around and go back to Silverton and film that side of the road looking down to the right!! 😳
No thanks!! I did drive back, but kept my eyes straight ahead. Definitely no room for error on that road. Thanks for watching.
@@LMGSvideos we (I) enjoyed the drive from Ouray to Silverton but in the summer! My wife though said, NEVER AGAIN!! LOL!
