the way c9 crumbled in this series almost makes it feel depressing that this is the only NA team that can get out of groups
to be fair it was also kind of a fluke how they got out, every other na team also won 3 games but their other group members didn't shit the bed. I'd argue c9, although on paper may be, aren't the best representative team of NA and 100T or TL could've made a better showing vs GenG

@@zexty I agree, I think FPX fumbling and GenG being stronger than expected played bigger factors considering C9 had about as many mistakes this series as they did in groups. Just hope that another team from NA can show up in the near future

Geng is the most confusing team in the world. They have players with insane mechanics, Clid, Bdd and Ruler, yet they look like they do not trust their team fighting and refuse to force a baron fight and look so scared to flip objectives. Even in game 1 when they won, they allowed way too many 5050 smite fights. Still a good series by Geng. Just wondering how they will fare against a team as decisive as Edg
They are old and insecure, rascal said in the interview. The mechanical prowess are still there but they doubt when to go in. I can't explain it before but I got it right away. They are good but I think this season they will learn. Just like t1 Who is somewhat same with GenG but right now different gamestylr

Okay, but imagine how bad it would have been if they drew an actually good team. They could have ended up getting stomped in record time by T1. At least they threw a couple games that were winnable instead of just being hard outclassed from start to finish. GenG was still the best draw.
This game has confirmed they were both right. Geng and C9 both suck.

Perkz looked like he went from playoff perkz back to summer split perkz this series. Vulcan was making very bad positioning/engaging decisions, reminded me of MSI Beryl a bit. Also don’t even get me started on Zven.

Zven was awful all tourney. It was tragic watching the bot lane play this year. Its kind of shocking fudge was probably the MVP of worlds for C9 lmao

But everyone knows damwon is leagues above gen G. Especially with the way gen g has been playing this worlds. Watching madlions there was actual hope they could pull of a win but c9 got rolled every game within the first 10 minutes

I've read this on reddit but it resonates so well with how Zven was in this game.
Zven has only popped off on his career when he's been playing in super safe ADC metas. Tahm Kench support, Senna ADC, shit like that that doesn't require him to worry about his positioning because everytime you see Zven, he's either getting caught due to bad positioning or just straight up running it.
thats not quite right, thats how it is post moving to NA, in his first few years he was known to be both reliable and mechanically in your face

I don't know man to me it was obvious as day Gen G were a lot stronger. This outcome is not at all unpredictable to be honest.
The issue people have is that this wasn't built on geng being better but on c9 being incredibly terrible.
Most c9 members ran it down extremely egregiously multiple times in the series.

Everyone acting like Gen.G is a bottom tier team that have no hope and will get 3-0d by EDG. Even the casters were biased towards C9 despite them only being ahead like 10 minutes the entirety of the 3 game series. The only problem I've seen so far, as a fan who's been with a fan of the org since SSW days, is that Rascal has commitment issues. There were some plays in his kennen game where had he just went for it he just dumpsters them.
Obviously I'm biased and in favour of Gen.G, just wish people would give a top tier LCK team that has a world champion in its roster, the respect that they deserve.

Well, that's because they were awful last year at Worlds, didn't even go in 2019 and went 1-5 in groups in 2018. What do you honestly expect people to think? They had what is undoubtedly the easiest quarterfinals match up and still made it look kinda hard. They also have so many int moments, that you even see frequently in the LCK. So, why do you think people should view them as a top-tier team, when their game-play is sub-standard much too frequently?

Man all that flame Blaber gave after managing not to just straight send it 2 games to keep them alive didn't age too well. Can't even play Poppy, she's like 1 step above Garen in terms of "here's wtf to do mechanically". No hate on Poppy, she's one of main picks and definitely is with how prevalent dashes/blockable mobility with W has become. Blaber used her W as a MS buff and only used it to block movement like once the entire time :|...The only reason she's decent is it blocks mobility :|.

Watching game 3 was depressing.
Game 1 was whatever, close even though it looked like a hard outdraft by GenG. Could have won but didn't, oh well.
Game 2 they picked soft counters in mid/top that lose early and got exploited in the early game, well played GenG. Outplayed but not the end of the world, just reset for the next game.
Game 3 though, that one hurt. Up between 3-4.5k gold in the objective fights, they just danced around looking for perfect engage at objectives and basically waited for Zoe/Jhin to poke them down until they couldn't win the fights. Just a bad ending to the tournament for NA, especially knowing we were given the best chance to make it to semi's.
First time Fudge and Blaber plays consistently well in a series, and so of course Perkz and Vulcan had to sprint it down.
Lol iwDonate is pretty funny tho
I know Zven probably performed the worst this series but I actually expected more from Perkz. He wasn't able to anything this series which is sad. Was rooting to see a miracle run from them.
