    When a car breaks in half while driving or after a collision, it was certainly the result of a repair like this.

    • @xinxianshi

      Indeed, a vehicle repaired in this way is likely to break into two pieces if it suffers a collision.

      Han ,one question did you steep weld all joints on rear cut wen joining to the Front part of car body ,what I mean ? By steep weld All welded joints to pass the other welded joints by 100 to 150 mils .this is the correct way to do this sort of repair on cut an shut repair

    • @Sohave

      Cars are not milled or pressed from one solid piece at the factory, they are welded across seams. Pay notice to how the sections are cut so that they interlock which spreads the tension across the metal.

    • @paulocasal2946

      The welding was only carried out on the outer plate, which is just aesthetic, the entire inner structure of the sides was not welded inside. Normally in the inner structure when it is cut and replaced, it should be welded in layers and if possible reinforce the inner.

    Who ever ends up driving around in this car will surely need the angels watch over them. Thankfully in my country this type of repair is highly illegal. But I would say there’s a few on the roads here that didn’t go through the insurance companies so no records kept. May the lord watch over the new owners of this mess

      Your concern for the safety of potential drivers of such a vehicle is certainly warranted. Illegally repaired or modified vehicles can pose significant risks on the road, and it's unfortunate that some may slip through without proper documentation. It's good to hear that in your country, such repairs are highly illegal, emphasizing the importance of regulations to ensure vehicle safety.

    My late dad used to be the best auto bodyman ever. He used to restore cars and sell them . He would always try to buy cars at auction that the damage was at rear. He would get the rear end clip from salvage yard and reweld per manufacturers welding connections . The before and after was incredible. Like nothing happened. My dad used to say well it’s better and stronger than factory now . Because even some manufacturers slack on welding connections. 😊

    Known as a ''Cut & Shut'' in UK, details have to be enclosed on registration documents and rigourously tested by the Ministry of Transport, however some vehicles do manage to slip through the procedure and end up on the market without the purcheasers knowledge

    • @xinxianshi

      Thank you for providing additional information. In the UK, the practice you mentioned is commonly referred to as a "Cut & Shut," where two or more vehicles are cut and then joined together. This process is regulated, and details about such modifications are required to be included in registration documents. Additionally, rigorous testing by the Ministry of Transport is supposed to ensure that the modified vehicle meets safety standards.
      However, as you mentioned, there are instances where vehicles manage to slip through the procedure and end up on the market without the purchasers' knowledge. This is a serious concern as it could pose significant safety risks. Authorities and regulatory bodies play a crucial role in enforcing these regulations and conducting thorough inspections to prevent such vehicles from being sold without proper documentation and safety checks.
      If consumers suspect that a vehicle may have undergone unauthorized modifications or pose safety concerns, it's advisable to perform due diligence, conduct vehicle history checks, and report any discrepancies to the relevant authorities. It underscores the importance of maintaining and enforcing robust regulatory frameworks to ensure the safety of vehicles on the road.

    • @xinxianshi

      While a visual inspection is essential, combining it with tools like a magnet during a pre-purchase inspection can provide additional insights into the condition of the vehicle. • @xinxianshi

      Your perspective reflects a practical and safety-conscious approach. Indeed, determining whether a damaged vehicle is worth repairing depends on various factors, including the extent of the damage, the cost of repairs, and the potential impact on safety and structural integrity.
      In some cases, deeming it a parts car might be a more practical decision, especially if the damage is extensive. Prioritizing safety and making informed decisions about the feasibility of repairs are crucial aspects of the automotive repair process.

    I see a lot of people making legitimate arguments about the structural integrity of the vehicle going forward, but in some parts of the world that's a luxury and safety isn't a foremost concern. Here in the States we're so spoiled with the resources available to us, that safety can be a primary concern. We're more likely to die from an unsafe accident here, than say from starvation. In other parts of the world, safety is often seen as a luxury that impedes progress and stifles someone's ability to get ahead. If some guy needs a car to provide for his family and his commute rarely exceeds 35mph or if it's simply used for a weekly commute to market or to a much needed medical professional for treatment, then this is ideal and affordable.

    • @xinxianshi

      You make a valid point. Indeed, the context and priorities can vary significantly across different regions and circumstances. In certain parts of the world, people might prioritize affordability and functionality over some of the safety features that are considered essential in more developed regions. It's essential to consider the local context, regulations, and the specific needs of individuals in different areas. While safety is crucial and should be a priority, it's important to recognize that not everyone has access to the same resources or faces identical challenges.

      The structural integrity of a vehicle is crucial for its safety, especially in the event of another accident. • @xinxianshi

      The video doesn't provide a detailed step-by-step process of joining the two parts. However, it appears that the repair involves welding and aligning the damaged sections. Welding techniques, such as MIG welding, are commonly used in automotive repairs to fuse metal pieces together. The specific methods and tools used in the repair process may vary based on the expertise of the individual performing the restoration and the equipment available.

      Yes, if the car is damaged to this extent, I think scrapping it is the best option.

    What they don’t tell you is there is no insurance system in China. The advantage is you can get your car repaired cheaply if it’s not mechanical (engine), but anything else it’s a free for all and you don’t know what you are buying. It is unregulated. No documentation to say salvaged, rebuilt, etc nothing. Chinese industry is amazing but business ethics, laws and integrity are back in the 1600s.

    • @xinxianshi

      No, no, no, it seems that you don’t know much about China. China has a very complete insurance system and will force cars to purchase insurance. After an accident, the insurance company will also record the accident in detail. However, some people still collect the benefits. Driven to secretly tamper with accident records and conceal the accident process, I think these are phenomena that exist in any country.

    • @xinxianshi

      Your concerns about the structural integrity of the vehicle are valid. Staggering welds and using damaged components in repairs can indeed raise questions about the overall safety and reliability of the vehicle. In many regions, including Britain, vehicles with significant structural compromise may be deemed beyond economical repair and considered a total loss by insurance standards.
      Proper repair techniques and adherence to safety standards are crucial in ensuring the structural integrity of a vehicle after an accident. If you have specific details or questions about the repair process, it's advisable to discuss them with the professionals involved to ensure that safety standards have been followed.
