Anything can work in a fight if you train it enough and have the physical capabilities of doing it. For example, using kicks in a street fight. #staysafemartialarts #selfdefensetechniques #selfdefense #kicks
As a non fighter myself I am confused as to why ANY professional fighter would want to throw a high kick in the first place. Isn't it easier just to use your fists to hit your opponent in the upper part of there body instead of putting yourself off balance so to speak by throwing your legs up high in the air???
I tried a body kick once in a street fight when I was younger, they are too slow and too predictable. Need to practice and perfect any kick before you attempt
Why Spiritual Gifts Are Important However, he has given each one of us a special gift through the generosity of Christ. -Ephesians 4:7 When you are born into this world, you have certain natural abilities. Some of us have a natural ability in mechanics. Some have a natural ability in music. Others have a natural ability in art. There is a skill or a talent that God has given to each of us. However, there’s a difference between spiritual gifts and natural abilities. In the spiritual realm, after we put our faith in Jesus Christ, God places certain gifts in our lives. Ephesians 4:7 tells us, “However, he has given each one of us a special gift through the generosity of Christ” God has given some gifts to you. And God is the one who decides what gift (or gifts) you will have. The Bible also says, “Just as our bodies have many parts and each part has a special function, so it is with Christ’s body. We are many parts of one body, and we all belong to each other. In his grace, God has given us different gifts for doing certain things well” (Romans 12:4-6) There are gifts that God has placed into your life, and He has chosen to whom He will give what. The choice is totally up to Him. These gifts have nothing to do with any kind of merit on our part. Rather, they’re a result of God’s grace. Paul mentions these gifts again in the letter he wrote to the church of Corinth. He pointed out, “It is the one and only Spirit who distributes all these gifts. He alone decides which gift each person should have” (1 Corinthians 12:11) We can’t go out and pick and choose what gifts appeal to us. We need to recognize that God has placed these gifts in our lives, and our main objective is to use them. Of course, whenever you bring up the gifts of the Spirit, it causes some level of discomfort for certain people because of the abuse they’ve seen. It seems that whenever we hear the phrase “gifts of the Spirit” or “the power of the Spirit,” we often see excess. We often see the gifts misused. What we see displayed may be so bizarre and erratic that we think, “If those are the gifts of the Spirit and that is the work of the Holy Spirit, then I want nothing to do with it.” Yet what we are often seeing is not the gifts in action but an abuse of the gifts, a misuse of them outside the parameters that the Bible gives. We are not seeing what God really wants to do. God wants to work through our lives in a powerful and wonderful way. God has given us these gifts, and we need them. We are living in dark times. In fact, the Bible tells us that the last days would be satanically energized times. People will go from bad to worse. We need all the power that we can get to effectively live for the Lord and serve Him.

@@user-io4oo2dh6y Sure they were "invented"...but can you do it on any surface with any footwear while in a stressful or unexpected situation ? If it has worked out for you in the past, I'm honestly impressed.
Teep kick saved my life. I'm not a fighter and I dont train. I'm not super fit, but I am strong. I got jumped by a couple gang bangers because they thought I looked at them wrong. Next thing I know I was in a 2v1 for my life. I have seen what happens when someone gets behind you, or you get dropped in that situation. So I did the only thing I could think of: run backwards and pick my shots carefully. I probably ran 20 to 30 laps around an "L" shaped 711 parking lot, periodically posting up to teep as hard as I could, and follow with either a jab, straight left, or right hook (im a lefty) , multiple times I could hear the wind get completely knocked out of those punks when the teep landed, and the punches let them know they were in a fight the next day. Eventually I started tiring out (probably about 6 or 7 minutes in 😅), so I ran inside the 711 and asked the cashier if they were going to call the cops or just watch me get jumped. The pnssy squad came running in behind me. I landed the hardest teep of the fight right in front of the hot dog cooker. Dude sounded like he almost puked. I hit him with a hard straight left and dropped him just in time to see the other one cocking back to throw a can of soup at me. I ducked the can, and circled around to avoid getting caught between them when the one I dropped got back up. Eventually I ended up by the canned food. Learning from his mistake, I pump faked my can of soup, and caught the one who threw the can at me flush in the mouth like on "once upon a time in Hollywood". That dropped him for a few seconds. By this point I was completely exhausted and losing speed. The fight had to have been at least 10 or 12 minutes long. So when I saw an opening I ran for the office behind the counter and locked myself inside. Seconds later two cops showed up, and the gang bangers fled. I was placed in cuffs and treated like I was the suspect while the other two were allowed to flee without pursuit. Eventually I was let go with no charges. I didn't get out unscathed. I got a broken tooth, and some lumps on my face. But what didn't happen is more important. I didn't get dropped, I didn't get stomped on, and I didn't get killed or hospitalized. The teep allowed me to keep space on my terms and follow up when I stunned the my attackers. If I didn't move backwards and keep space that way, things may have gone far worse for me than they did. Dont fight multiple attackers if you can avoid it.
That's a lot of details for a fight , and most fights don't last more than 30 seconds to a minute. When I was training we had 3 minute rounds. Which conditioned us for an average fight on the streets, " which on an average is only 30 seconds to 60 seconds "
@@Cpt.RavioliWell he did touch him, but just barely lol u can see his kick landed on the other dude's arm. Obviously this didn't hurt him at all tho I know, and all the idiot with the flyin kick managed to do was hurt himself really bad.

It’s nice to see more people who know how to fight come out and talk about this stuff. It needs to be done to fight the lies spread from the “self defense” content creators.
Any kick below the waist is usually effective it's not telegraphed and you have a chance that it will work better than a high kick which need lots of practice
Muay Thai kick right above the knee as they shift their weight on it coming towards you will do it in 1 (as long as you're comfortable with the fact the person may never be able to walk unaided ever again) 😂 But nicely done, you got yourself out of that situation without anybody getting seriously hurt 👍

Calf kicks are very effective. “The higher the kick, the more risk” is a good rule of thumb I follow. Edit: This is in a controlled competition setting. Most untrained fighters wouldn’t know how to block a head kick, move or counter. Therefore, in a street fight, the risk would be worth more in order to stop the fight as soon as possible. I use head kicks, but it’s not my go to.
That only applies if you’re not flexible enough. Body kicks are risky if you lack speed. Head kicks end the altercation immediately. Even if you miss the wont want to fight you anymore. Trust me.
@@thotslayer9922 great point of view. But I’m just explaining my game. I’m 5’8 fighting at 165. So a lot of my opponents are taller than me. So I’ll use front kicks, body kicks and punches, and work the legs.

Well said, any technique can work if you have practiced it enough. Also simpler kicks tend to work better than complex ones, don't risk yourself with a flying kick when you can uninstall someone's legs with a good low kick.
Exactly it can go either way, I don't want to be paralyzed from some crazy person knocking me out and then stomping my back out repeatedly, and if I win a fight in self defense and the judge finds me guilty don't want to go to prison
Teep is honestly the greatest self defense kick. Defensive, offensive, distance creating, shuts down boxers, untrained people won't catch it like they could a roundhouse... Teep is OP.
yes,but your opponent can easily hit the back of his head on concrete after a frontkick (a lot of unintentional killings happened that way) sometimes it's better to hit either with a toe to the chin or to push into the top of the thigh and then jump in
@@4BeetleMilk4 ....I think bend them in the middle, a kick to the gut or floating ribs, knock the wind out of them. Unless they are trained they will never see it coming and you don't risk them falling backwards.

Another great lesson in martial arts is to master psychological skills. If you can handle a loud person psychologically. Then you have more skills to handle a street fight
I remember doing that exact kick you did near the end of this video. Me and my training partner were both wearing shin guards. When he took it off, there was a purple line across his shin where I kicked him. It's a mad effective kick.
Dude in the dark hoodie was thinking, we can getdown with the main event now that the trailer is over. Yellow jacket guy quickly went from being a participant, a spectator, then to a patient.
Yep. Most people, even people who professionally train. Don’t do the kicks right. The way they do them works but the kicks never reach their full potential.
The front foot sweep always works. As you can do with jeans and can stay upright with your guard. When someone falls down without a punch thrown, people see you are very capable.
Even a kick to the nuts is not as easy as people think. You need to be in proper range and fast AF. Most can't do either. Those kind of kicks are easy to see and avoid.
I actually found the shotokan front snap-kick to the throat to be the most effective and devastating kick I ever learned. Very fast and powerful while also providing range and safety from the opponent’s counter-offensive. Plus it was so high and fast that it was never anticipated whatsoever.
The worst result of a high kick is that if your leg is grabbed by your opponent. They can choose to break it. They can drag you. They can even throw you.
Unless you know capoeira, then that's where things get fun cause they're holding a good portion of your weight hahah. Too bad most of us don't know it. ( I don't) who would, it's rare you even get to use it unless you like the dancing aspect which can be used more frequently
Don't be fly. Once they have your leg they only have to twist your foot till the ankle or knee goes pop. That simple. (Yes its a dislocation and not a broken bone, but your leg is still ruined).
Watch muay thai fighters, there are plenty of ways to deal with your leg getting grabbed. Especially if we're talking a street fight, the average joe has no clue what to do with your leg compared to your own knowledge.
Ey frrrrr i remember being a teenager smoking weed with my buddies and I squared up with one of them who was into the UFC and he didn't train but he threw this kick right to my thigh and goddam shit hurt so bad I was I'm straight hahahaha
Yup was thinking "sidekick" when you said easiest and most effective. Untrained people are very vulnerable to body blows; so if someone rushes at you, a good sidekick can end it right there and definately front/steep kicks to the gut as well. Round kicks are good too, but remember you're in a closer range when throwing those and an untrained person might rush you throwing haymakers. So follow up your round kicks with punches and keep your elbow guards ready. I subbed real quick when I came across this channel the other day, always solid techniques and tips so far!
Also I wear steel cap boots during my work day. A side kick to the knee with steel capped boots is gonna hurt real bad. Also with the steel caps you can through that kick as hard as you like without fear of hurting your toes.
Yup, I'm 5'9 and it's rare that someone my own size wanted to fight me 1 on 1 back in the day. Low kick, front kick and oblique are the way to go. Taller guys have too much of an advantage if you're going to just trade hands with them. Clinching is another major issue with bigger guys. Also... don't street fight, walk away if you can.
For real 100% of street fights start with them rushing at you, a single front kick to their sternum with their own momentum and they're flopping around like a fish.
@genryu saito Exactly, I won a street fight by barely using a front kick. I just tapped him with my the top of my Jordan because he was trying to start a fight and show off infront of girls I asked him to sop twice, he closed the distance and tried to punch me, I used an outwards block and barely tapped him with my jordan. He just froze there, hand clutching jaw bleeding and apologized 😂 apparently the impact made him bite his tongue 🤣🤣🤣. I’m 15 years old and 140 pounds. can’t imagine how he would take a roundhouse that’s almost 700 pounds of force. Probably end up In the morgue 💀
100% spot on. I have some physical disabilities that limit the movement in my legs but i dont let that limit my ability to train. I train shin kicks and knee kicks.
Or you could train mobility and work on your body flexibility making you able to have a wider arsenal and also making you physically fit. Why would you work around a problem instead of going at the source? I trained muay thai for over 16 years and its all about consistency and building a strong foundation and flexing we used a ceiling rope then lowering into the split. If you dont go low enough you get hit with a bamboo stick
Leg Kick absolutely works, if it works enough, you can often drop them immediately, even just with the aspect of chopping both legs out from under them.
The single most effective strike in multiple encounters for me has been leg kicks. Easy to do, you don’t lose balance, and literally nobody other than other Muay Thai people know how to check it/have the conditioning to take it.

When you are born into this world, you have certain natural abilities.
Ephesians 4:7 tells us, “However, he has given each one of us a special gift through the generosity of Christ”
God has given some gifts to you. And God is the one who decides what gift (or gifts) you will have.
The Bible also says, “Just as our bodies have many parts and each part has a special function, so it is with Christ’s body. We are many parts of one body, and we all belong to each other. In his grace, God has given us different gifts for doing certain things well” (Romans 12:4-6)
There are gifts that God has placed into your life, and He has chosen to whom He will give what.
He alone decides which gift each person should have” (1 Corinthians 12:11)
We can’t go out and pick and choose what gifts appeal to us.
What we see displayed may be so bizarre and erratic that we think, “If those are the gifts of the Spirit and that is the work of the Holy Spirit, then I want nothing to do with it.”
Yet what we are often seeing is not the gifts in action but an abuse of the gifts, a misuse of them outside the parameters that the Bible gives.

Calf kicks are very effective. “The higher the kick, the more risk” is a good rule of thumb I follow.

"Remember kids: When in doubt, rely on the basics."
There's a reason why they are the "essentials".
I like how the two dudes just stopped fighting for a moment to look at the guy in the yellow jacket like "damn bro, is he okay?" and then just 🤷🏽 and continued fighting 😂
The yellow jacket said it all.
You can hear the laughter too hahaha
Another great lesson in martial arts is to master psychological skills. If you can handle a loud person psychologically. Then you have more skills to handle a street fight
Bruce always said low kicks are the go to
"Go train"
Yes sir.
im your daddy
Low kicks are wonderful in street fights
never seen it work in a street fight once, I don't think low kicks are meant for fast fights, they're meant for 3+ rounds fights
@@honkler1443 typically people who decide to street fight can't fight
Kick him in the balls!
@@honkler1443 you can literally kick someone's legs clean out from under them if they are facing you in a squared stance.
Use your longest weapon against the closest target. Usually that means a kick to the thigh or knee. Not meant to knock out.
You forgot to mention the kick in the bollocks, definitely a number one kick out there. Even some UFC fighters use it !
I remember doing that exact kick you did near the end of this video. Me and my training partner were both wearing shin guards. When he took it off, there was a purple line across his shin where I kicked him. It's a mad effective kick.
Low cut kicks send A CLEAR message, to the offender.
Dude in the dark hoodie was thinking, we can getdown with the main event now that the trailer is over.
Yellow jacket guy quickly went from being a participant, a spectator, then to a patient.
Bro just spoke the facts 😎
Even though it failed I give that guy mad respect for trying.
I told my brother that kicks work in mma and he’s like “yeah but a street fight is different, they don’t work”. Didn’t even bother.
Low kicks are real killers in a close combat.
Liver kicks are a close #2 I think. Just have to get that switch on point if you're orthodox
Bullshit
All forms of attack are useful if
A) it lands
B) there isn't enough residual pain preventing you from continuing the fight
“Go train.” Man those two words are so simple but goddamn that sentence is probably one of the most important said in this short. Awesome!
Excellent advice. Leg kicks have served Justin Gaethje well too!
A well-trained side kick and teep are great for escaping larger threats.
They both checked to see if he was asleep then continued fighting 😂 they’re both good people
#4 the karate front kick to the midsection, executed with the foot at 90° from the shin.
Kicks definitely work if you have trained them
Yep. Most people, even people who professionally train. Don’t do the kicks right. The way they do them works but the kicks never reach their full potential.
Yes, anybody can throw a punch but you need skill and training to do kicks!
The front foot sweep always works. As you can do with jeans and can stay upright with your guard. When someone falls down without a punch thrown, people see you are very capable.
No doubt
Pair of doc martins and a kick in the nuts win everytime
Even a kick to the nuts is not as easy as people think. You need to be in proper range and fast AF. Most can't do either. Those kind of kicks are easy to see and avoid.
As far back as I can remember, I always wanted to be a street fighter.
If Muay Thai has taught me anything it’s that a flying knee is pretty hard to fuck up.
your probably right
Spinning flying knee, more specifically
@@restricttheopennotes then try a spinning back cross punch or spinning back punch
200 kicks a day keeps the doctor way
I actually found the shotokan front snap-kick to the throat to be the most effective and devastating kick I ever learned. Very fast and powerful while also providing range and safety from the opponent’s counter-offensive. Plus it was so high and fast that it was never anticipated whatsoever.
Oblique kicks to the leg. Saved me in a fight against 5 people. Only needed to fight off 3 after 2 couldn’t continue afterwards. Scary world out here
😂😂😂😂😂
100% agree leg kicks love it see there face on the first power kick 😂😂😂
Bro went for the hardest kick first try just assumed he had that skill unlocked through osmosis or something 😅
There's probably people who would argue punches don't work in a street fight
The worst result of a high kick is that if your leg is grabbed by your opponent. They can choose to break it. They can drag you. They can even throw you.
Unless you know capoeira, then that's where things get fun cause they're holding a good portion of your weight hahah. Too bad most of us don't know it. ( I don't) who would, it's rare you even get to use it unless you like the dancing aspect which can be used more frequently
Curious how they would ‘break’ your leg after catching it.
Catching a kick is not as easy as you think.
Kicks that could work well in a fight that immediately come to mind for me are the low kick and side kick, easy to pull off and if landed, will hurt.
That guy was not fighting the other guy he fought the floor with his jaw.
Inside leg kicks are always my go to in a street fight, I feel it sends a good message to your opponent of what they’re up against.
Also keep in mind environmental conditions, if the ground is snowy ❄️ or icy, or slick with rain 💧 you could much more easily slip throwing a kick
That is why you should only do jump kicks. You can’t slip on the floor if you aren’t on the floor
@@lewisjones284bro forgot about gravity
Low kicks are nice in the street. You still can knock someone down without a high risk of fatal injury especially with those three kicks.
Ey frrrrr i remember being a teenager smoking weed with my buddies and I squared up with one of them who was into the UFC and he didn't train but he threw this kick right to my thigh and goddam shit hurt so bad I was I'm straight hahahaha
Bro's kick was so strong it shattered his own face
After a good low kick, you can run away, but your opponent can't. 😂
Also, carry a mouthguard in your pocket, just in case. You'd be surprised how scared people get, when you come prepared.
I subbed real quick when I came across this channel the other day, always solid techniques and tips so far!
much appreciated!!
Apparently the guy I fought only trained in kicking the head of an opponent on the ground
Also I wear steel cap boots during my work day. A side kick to the knee with steel capped boots is gonna hurt real bad. Also with the steel caps you can through that kick as hard as you like without fear of hurting your toes.
Low kicks also save you legally
The guy falls humiliated instead of brain damaged from head kick
On this channel I found most right to the point and down to earth advice on what to do in a street fight.
At least he got his bro to hold him lmao
I like how they both paused and looked at the guy like "Damn that must've hurt" and continued fighting.
Its also important that you can get hit and keep on fighting.

His friend bout to start fanning his homie.
Not many people on the street can handle a good low kick. It’s especially effective against someone who’s way taller than you.
Snap someone's leg in half with your leg & fights pretty much done.
Snap the knee
Bro worked out how gravity worked real quick.😂
The crunching sound when he hits the asphalt.😂😂😂
Front kicks are great in a street fight, especially if you can hide it.
For real 100% of street fights start with them rushing at you, a single front kick to their sternum with their own momentum and they're flopping around like a fish.
@@GenryuSaito backflips and barrel rolls works well too
@genryu saito Exactly, I won a street fight by barely using a front kick.
@@thotslayer9922 this only works with very untrained people. If it slips off or the guy knows how to catch it... Its game over 😂
@@KingoftheJianglIf it works on trained fighters it works on not trained fighters period.
Sweep kick and shove, an effective yet simplistically practical way to diffuse and or get distance from an attacker.
Bruce Lee was all about the low kick
Chuck Norris was high
Bruce was so ahead of his time
Leg Kick absolutely works, if it works enough, you can often drop them immediately, even just with the aspect of chopping both legs out from under them.
The single most effective strike in multiple encounters for me has been leg kicks. Easy to do, you don’t lose balance, and literally nobody other than other Muay Thai people know how to check it/have the conditioning to take it.
