    🙋🏼 ABOUT ME: Hi guys! My name is Alyona. I was born in Russia. I'm a musician. And I love art, makeup, fashion, style and beautiful environments. I love playing with makeup and fashion, but at the same time, I’m quite a minimalistic person. I don't like the idea of being fixated on the body too much. I have an alternative and unconventional viewpoint on beauty, the body types and face shapes. I love helping other women find their "it" and finally discover their beauty and boost their confidence.
    I have several series on my channel that you might be interested in such as: Body Types, Contouring, Makeup History and Makeup Transformations. Also some random beauty hacks about skin care, hair, nails and beauty in general.

      learned so much. Just an idea, I think people will like, but lot of work. Five different videos (just for Romantics (me..i think!), just for Gamines, just for Dramatics, ""Classics, "" Naturals.. that would help one individual really learn all about themselves. You could review the types, wait until 20-30 seconds in to say, please see my Just for "blank" video if you are this body type. .. maybe??

      That would be so much effort on her end with no reward for her tho? Like would you spend hours on doing smth like that? Why can't you just do more research or buy the book by Kibbe to "get a the general idea of the styles out there".

      @@mint.neighbor I have read the book and done my research. I even have my own Pinterest board with styles that I think match my body type. I just see a bunch of people requesting aly to make all these videos tailored to their own individual needs. It takes a long time to Google all these pictures and edit her videos meanwhile Pinterest doesn't take a lot of effort. Like everyday clothing items that you think would be most flattering to each body type and that they should definitely have in their closets.
    i.e. straight jeans, wide legged trousers, collared shirts, etc.

    My shoulders are a bit wide and somehow it makes me look 'compact', so I've noticed I look better in low cut dresses/shirts (v-shaped, not square), as it makes my neck look longer and I look slimmer and more elegant that way. Spaghetti straps also aren't good for wide shoulders, they only make them look wider, same with off-shoulder dresses/shirts I think.

    @jasmineflowers3583 5 ปีที่แล้ว +6

    I dunno you suggest long and baggy for my body type (flamboyant natural) but personally i look best body tight on my upper half and baggy or full on my bottom half. Fully baggy clothes make me look completely shapeless and much taller than i am. A great look is "baggy extra long jumper with boots" but this look just makes me look large, wide and unflattering while simultaneously making me look flat as a pancake and skinny in all directioans. I prefer to create a more defined shape with an emphasised waist (eventhough i already have a small waist) and tight upper body with a fuller bottom (my go tos are short and midi skater skirts, tulip/non body hugging/A lineish pencil skirts, joggers and jeans which crumple up a bit(not skin tight skinny)) i feel like this body typing system suggests clothes which emphasise the body but do not flatter it.

I come to your videos because it not “you look like this fruit so this is how to make it look like you have an hourglass shape” it really is a body type! And it makes me feel more comfortable with my body when thinking about what I should wear. Flesh, Juicy, Bones, Lines, Roundness, Smaller, Feminine, Delicate, Frame and Bone structure are far better at explaining the female body and figure than celery, apple, pear and other foods or objects.

    Hey Aly, great video, I always love to watch them! I was wondering if you could do a video where you show what looks best on the different body types when they're "overweight" or how to find your body type despite being "overweight"... I'm pretty condifdent that I'm a flamboyant gamine but since I have wider hips, I feel like the suggestions here are pretty difficult for me to find in a store (a tailored dress that fits my hips will definitely be too large around the shoulders), which makes me question whether I actually found my correct body type... It would also be cool to see an example of someone of each type who actually is a bit heavier! :)

      Classic is the most neutral style out there. Since it's neither yin or yang, the style can look ok on almost everyone but that doesn't mean they are those lines. Once you've found your true body lines and try on the style, you'll find that the style is what's going to suit you best. Have you tried Flamboyant Natural clothes? Flamboyant Natural clothes looks so edgy and badass on other Natural subtypes.

    How about jeans for body type? 😍 i just found out I’m soft natural and i compared my looks on my pictures. I don’t look good on a very tight and looks best on relaxed unconstructed cuts. I own some bodycon dresses but when I compared, i actually look better with something more relaxed texture. I made a closet check, and I realized, the least used clothes of mine are my bodycon dresses and my tailored blazer.

    As a classic body type, I think I’ve been dressing this way without realizing it. I’ve always loved ruffles and used to wear billowy tops or ones with lots of detail and lace, but it never looks as good on me as I would like. It’s those clean shapes that do tend to look more flattering.

    • @windylue6206
      @windylue6206 5 ปีที่แล้ว +14

      I think that chest/breasts is one of the characteristics that is just so random among all the types that it can't be conclusive. Think about that: if you took a SN celebrity and shrank her breasts, would she stop being SN? It probably wouldn't even be that noticeable under a bra and clothes, and the body proportions would be similar. I'm a Soft Dramatic and they're stereotypically fleshy yet I have quite a flat chest. But I can imagine the confirmed SD celebrities with flatter chests and they would still look like themselves, the fleshiness still present everywhere else. Just like I would still look like myself with larger breasts, to some point, of course.

      I think many of us will have some oddball features that go against our type. I am pretty sure I'm Theatrical Romantic (maybe Soft Classic?), but I have never had an hourglass figure. I am straight-bodied and flat-chested, but straight-cut clothes with no defined waist tend to look sloppy on me. When I wear peplums or flared skirts, I usually get compliments.

    I want to thank you a lot. I'm soft dramatic and most women in my family are either pure dramatics or TR so at first I thought I was more similar to the dramatic ones (I didn't know about the body types back then) but couldn't figure out why I look so shapeless. Then I gained a bit of weight and got even more of an hourglass so I thought ok so I'm TR but I just looked so masculine in all those frills and flowy dress that my mum and sisters look so gentle and delicate in. So now finally I know what to wear and look plus thank god feel a lot better. So ... really thank you so much for doing this series. I didn't know the names of the types or even that there was some typing but I was constantly comparing myself to my relatives so yeah knowing that it was not my fault that I could not pull those clothes off is deeply reassuring.

      Audrey. Hepburn I would say your body type will probably not change very much. Maybe a little bit, but I am 21. And my body type has always been romantic. And I would say 16 is a good age to be able to know your body type. The only difference is it becomes a little more evident as you age. Hope this helps lol I’m not an expert but I have binge watched these videos c:

      @Corrie Jo thanks for answering! And it is very interesting, that you have always been a romantic. I kind of thought, that I’ll grow to have more curves and so on, but probably you are right and not much will change, I was just confused when Ally said „Teenage girl“ figure. Well, for sure I‘ll not have an hourglass figure, and I‘m not sure, if I‘ll grow taller, so it‘s very possible that you are right.

      I'll give a different opinion. Your body can change a lot. Look at Tyra Banks, her softness appeared after 19 year old. I was very narrow and sharp until 18/19. When I went to college I started to have awful Growth pain but my height remained the same, I got hips from all that pain. My facial features are softer despite the fact that I am still too thin for my height. But the bones from my hips and my small waist give a softer feel to my narrow frame.

      Try not to stress about it. :) Experiment with different looks and see what looks best on you! You sound just like me in high school! I was skinny, straight-bodied, oval face, soft features, no cheekbones to speak of. That was 20 years ago! Still Straight-bodied, same face, gained a little weight but it's manageable. I think body types can change for some people, but not for others. And for some, we don't even see our true body type until we fully mature in our 20s-30s. After taking the test and finding it inconclusive, I considered what clothes look best on me. That made me realize I'm Theatrical Romantic. It also explains why, in high school, I was told I look better in period costume than in modern clothes. (I was in music & theater.)
