I know theres more to life than giveaway cars but the best giveaway cars come from here. They are true dream cars that a regular person could insure and the only things left to add is some personality from the new owner.
It's great your trying out other ecu systems, not doubting ecumaster but it never hurts to understand and try others. For the honda cars you should give the fueltech a try too! Just glad to see the Wagon making progress!
you say that you are not a professional painter but you do the prep like you should, take your time and the results are always AMAZING. to me that makes you a professional painter. i hate going to those "pump and dump" paint shops that do a ton of vehicles fast and the results are OK AT BEST.
Giving away running driving clean looked over EVO 9 is 100x more interesting to me than buying a new car, slamming it con coils, putting on cold air and exhaust and calling it a day...anyone can do that...but what you do is true car guy dream
Evo 9 is litterly my dream car, I went for a ride in one in high school, it’s was my buddy’s car, and fell in love instantly, never could afford one but what a car, amazing
I agree that it's a great giveaway car. Perfect balance of performance and reliability. I will definitely be driving it to work most days if I win it. I love that I get to support fellow gearheads as well.
Your buddy behind the camera worked for TRC I mean how long at how much power and boost has that Sequential evo9 been running for years and has new owner. Camera guy knows a guy.
I could see a bad ECU being the problem. If there was a loose/corroded circuit board component that heated up and expanded, then that could cause a continuity problem on that circuit causing a no start when restarting. Time will tell. Stoked to see the Evo again either way!
Now you've got Charles's new daily Evo wagon running you should do something with your buddy Junkyard Dave, His Hellcat wagon is close to done. Road trip.. And yeah Datsun 510.
Why? The guy quit and wouldn’t answer Trevor’s calls, he had to go to his house to see if he was coming back and he replied “maybe I dunno” when he knew damn well he wasn’t.
Yea that would be the best bcuz that dude put alot of hard work n time into this car. Cutn n put together parts that wasn't meant to be put together but he did a damn good job on car n if they had made a USA version then u wouldn't be able to tell if this was the real deal Evo wagon or not bcuz it was put together so damn good n seald all up where it was cut in half n all. Bout time u get to enjoy this beast of a wagon y'all built bro
Hey Trevor - you should reach out to Jafro. There’s nothing he doesn’t know about the 4g63 engine. Particularly tuning them for power. & he’s one of the good guys. I’ve followed him as long as I’ve followed you. 👍👍👍
They didn't have the boards for the plug and play adapters, they are working on getting more stock of those, but I talked to Steve and he is really comfortable with this solution so im trusting my tuner :)
Oh hell yeah Link ECU! We just started working with them and it has been amazing for Rotaru. Our tuner had never tried one before, and he was super impressed with the capabilities and help files. I had no idea the Evo Wagon was still on a stock ECU. Definitely thought you had gone standalone with the original build. Wouldn't be surprised if some capacitors or other components were past their prime in the old computer. Either way, the Link will give you full monitoring and control with of course great data logging. Excited to see what you think of it gonna keep watching the video.
Laughing so much at the unplugged injectors. We did the same thing with Rotaru multiple times when we were on the old Apexi and trying to get it to run well. Our experience with first start on the Link was same as yours, fired right up first try on the base map, barely had to do any configuration and the base timing was even correct.
I miss my Evo, it was kind of a sh*tbox given it had rust at the pinch welds, leaky oil pan, shaky steering wheel, bubba'd wiring job, rebuilt title, clunky steering wheel lockout, dead acd pump, faded paint...it was a basket case that I won in a raffle but it was fun and I got to experience my dream car for just a moment. I don't regret selling it because I knew that there were more opportunities to win a better Evo to come. Here's to future builds and hopefully I get a second chance at owning a Lancer Evolution.
Yes, in this video we finally got my Evo Wagon working properly on a new ecu. We also showed a solid 2 weeks of work being done on an Evo that you have the chance to win in under 5 min. Automotive TH-cam is expensive and ad rev is down, it's a constant fight against the algorithm to get views that can potentially bring in some revenue. Giveaways are a way to bring in some cashflow to the business so we can continue to put out content that we think the audience will enjoy. If i can't pay the bills there will be no vidoes unless I go back to 100% doing everything myself in my home garage. Which is an option, but not something I want to personally do for now. I appreciate the support on the videos, and i get it, every video shouldn't be a giveaway ad. Which is exactly why we built this car in the background and released it in this video towards the end.
I'm so confused at why this channel doesn't get very many views you make awesome content I watch every video very confused.... also Shout out from New Zealand 😎
😍That paint looks soo damn nice! Is it the Tarmac Black? It looks like it, you can see the purple/blue really well cause it's so freshhh! I have to try to win this! Do you guys offer Evo restoration? because you should since most of the Northern Evos still around could use it. Like mine lol Just master the chassis leg repair lol bad chassis legs can send an Evo to the junkyard Did you notice if when the Wagon does not start that it was recently wet? Evos have an issue with a leaky rubber grommet that lets water through and run into a wire harness and prevents it from starting. I found the solution on EvolutionM it's not uncommon. It's hard to diagnose because it only happens after it rains or car wash.. but only sometimes... and sometimes it will start after a few cranks.. it's really random. My Evo was in a shop for a week and they couldn't find the issue that's when I went and found it online. Told the shop and they just eliminated the wire harness and I haven't had the problem again in 14 years. If I remember it was in the Drivers (LH) wheel well somewhere. Do you still have the dark blue SAAB Wagon? That was nice. I daily an '03 9-3
Yeah we resprayed it the factory Tarmac black, Honestly i didnt even know it had any other colors in it when i first got it because of the faded clear coat. Looks really clean now tho, first time i have seen the purple/ blue was when we pulled it outside in the sun for the first time. The car has not sat outside at all for the past 3 years, so its not a wet thing. I sold the 9-3 wagon a few years ago and i still miss it haha
I know theres more to life than giveaway cars but the best giveaway cars come from here. They are true dream cars that a regular person could insure and the only things left to add is some personality from the new owner.
That's what i'm saying!
Their give aways are fake fyi
Is it just me or has Trev been putting out some of the cleanest/realistic builds together for giveaways?
I think Evo wagon is one of the forever car for Trevor along with supra and 240

Finally, the wagon gets some love!
It's great your trying out other ecu systems, not doubting ecumaster but it never hurts to understand and try others. For the honda cars you should give the fueltech a try too! Just glad to see the Wagon making progress!

I agree that it's a great giveaway car. Perfect balance of performance and reliability. I will definitely be driving it to work most days if I win it. I love that I get to support fellow gearheads as well.

Why? The guy quit and wouldn’t answer Trevor’s calls, he had to go to his house to see if he was coming back and he replied “maybe I dunno” when he knew damn well he wasn’t.
So true
Shawn got TH-cam with Dave he does some stuff every now and then

@@sjv6598Ngl I respect Trev but Shawn Basically built that car by himself.
Glad to see you bringing this one back! I was distracted by the grab handles in the back seat though. They look like they are upside down.
They are lol
Was sad to see the evo wagon sittin around.
Was awesome to see the smile on trevors face when he started pulling 👍🍺
The EVO wagon is amazing ! But this new giveaway will have me buying more shirts I don’t need. My entire closet is basically all MATV!

So we can drive it ?
And then we can drive it 😂
Please replace those headlights lol or clean them they just seem off but besides that great freaking content like always my guys!!

Yes, in this video we finally got my Evo Wagon working properly on a new ecu. We also showed a solid 2 weeks of work being done on an Evo that you have the chance to win in under 5 min.

Silly to ask in a video that was more about a non-giveaway car than the giveaway car.
@@MotionAutoTv your views are down because you upload once a week and never stick with a car
@@802Garagewow he fixed a car he's had for 2 years and then drove it down the street...
@@HarryTwatter You clicked to watch about the Evo Wagon then complained that he worked on it? IDK fam.
New car alert!
An aftermarket ecu taraaaaaaaaaaa
lovin the Evo content, thanks
I'm so confused at why this channel doesn't get very many views you make awesome content I watch every video very confused.... also Shout out from New Zealand 😎
