I’ve met and hung around with Mark 6-7 times. Such a nice down to earth guy. He really helped me deal with the loss of my mother. I was at the last show of his solo tour in Jax Beach in 2015 and my mom wanted a signed t shirt. I ended up burying her in that shirt about 3 weeks later. I sent Mark a message a few days after the funeral thanking him to which he responded. The next time I saw him in 2016 he came up and gave me a huge hug. Love that guy.
Wish he would come back to jax again. But I’m excited that loathe is coming in town

I am almost lost for words. Every time there is a video with Mark there's a comment about what an incredible and kind soul he is!
i've never seen a bad word written about tremonti, i met him once after a show on the dying machine tour, gave me way more time than a random fan deserved. you're right too that his music is getting better and better somehow, the new album is great, well worth your time
I met him once at the NAMM show in Anaheim.. Gracias and extremely cool. He was just an overall cool dude. Spent time talking and wasn't acting like he was in a hurry or going through the motions.
People like Mark are the people who deserve every bit of success in the world. He is not just a rock god, but a family man and someone who is truly self aware. I wish him and his family health and joy!
...and then there's people like Slash. Brilliant player, no doubt about that, but clearly full of himself

That 'What If' riff is timeless
Mark is such a class act. I loved Creed back in the day and later on Alter Bridge. Tremonti is such a huge influence on me as a guitarist and someone who listens to music in general. Great interview!
Right off the batt Fluff nails it. The PRS Tremonti is the BEST Les Paul ever made. Hands down.
I am such a loser... I own 2 high end PRS models but I have never had a Tremonti in my hands...wtf!!!!

@@cpaynes8512 I own two Gibson Les Paul studios. Both are great in their own way, but the core Tremonti I have is one of my top favorite 3 guitars I have ever played, period.
One of my mates, who is no stranger to owning and playing very expensive guitars borrowed my Tremonti for a gig and never wanted to give it back haha. Said to me that it just felt better than a Les Paul in basically every way and still sounded monster. Superb value for money conscious musicians. Not to mention its damned pretty.
Agreed, I have a 2021 PRS SE standard 24 and a 2004 SE standard Tremonti and I definitely play my tremonti more, it just feels right and sounds so good
Mark is the man. True salt of the earth type guy. I so can't wait to see and hear the MT100. Sounds like the ultimate Frankenstein amp. Speaking of Scream What if and Is this the End are rippin. I had just bought that CD at Tower Records in Rockville, MD and remember cranking that in the car the very first time. My favorite Creed song is still What's this Life For. I remember when I first heard the intro and I was immediately blown away. It reminded me of Knocking on Heaven's Door but with more musical content. It just complimented the vocals so well and then out of nowhere you get pummeled by that wall of guitar. Congrats on the great interview.

Mark Tremonti is awesome. I had a chance to meet him in Minneapolis back during the peak of Creed and I’ve admired everything he’s ever done. His guitar and amp rigs are the zenith of metal tones.
Faceless Man was the song that really turned me on to Mark’s style like 20 years ago. So cool that he mentioned it!
Mark Is such a great player and an amazing songwrigter. Everytime I listen to his early stuff (both alter bridge and Tremonti) I think "damn this was great". But next I listen to the newer stuff and I realize that Is equally outstanding. He Just keeps developing and growing, also his vocal skills are getting Better and Better. And he Is also a courteous guy: Met him two times during pre shows and everytime It was a fantastic experience. Can't wait to see the MT100, it's the only reason I'm trying to save some Money right now.
Speaking of Guitar tones and heavy riffs: overcome and throw them to the Lions.
In general the Guitar tones in full circle album Blow me away every time.
I was fortunate enough to meet Mark at NAMM in 2000, nicest guy you could ever meet. Was able to meet Dime the same day and he was an absolute sweetheart but it's Dime, 500 people were in line to meet him. No one was in line to meet Mark so it was very awesome to actually talk to him for more than 5 seconds. One of my favorite memories.
Mark seems like he is exactly what you want one of your guitar heros to be like in person.
Fluff, this is thee absolute best interviewee you could possible have. Tremonti is imo the best musician in the last 20 years. Thank you for making this possible and sharing with the rest of us.
Dude! I am a huge Tremonti fan. 1. Hetfield, #2 Tremonti. Met him twice over the years and had a few cool conversations. That was my favorite interview….EVER. Great questions!

"... an EL34 II, which is a newer JJ, it's kinda like an KT77, which it has the elements of a 6L6 without the squishiness of an EL34." Amp nerdiness at it's highest level.
Sick interview. Mark is just so real and a hella cool dude. Met him on the Last Hero tour in OKC. My mom saw him going to his bus and got his attention through the fence. He came over waited for my mom to call me from the other side of the venue lol. We all obviously freaked out, but he was super chill. All the respect in the world for the guy
And Mark spends the whole episode fiddling with the camera.....🤣
I’ve been listening to mark since he started. He’s the man. All his bands kick ass. Love that he’s humble to.

It's cool to see that no matter how big a star you get to be, it's still all about being a fanboy at heart! I've been to two Tremonti clinics, and the at the first one, I had not brought a guitar. I was loaned one of Mark's guitars, and you'd better believe that for me, looking down in my lap and seeing that magical PRS, was like for me what seeing Zakk Wylde's or Tony Iommi's guitar was for Mark. They didn't make me give it back until we were on stage doing the rig rundown, so though not plugged in, I "played onstage" with Mark Tremonti.
Mark is an excellent teacher and a heckuva nice guy. One of the classiest guys in rock.

This is part of what I want to do is to get my channel big enough so that I can go back to interviews with music celebrities like I did on the radio. Nice get and great job on not acting like a little fangurl during this. That’s harder to do than most people think when you are a big fan of who you are interviewing. Like I had to really pull back my fanboi vibes when I interviewed Steve Morse or Tom Johnston. Nice get!
Met him back in 2012 on his first solo tour here in Germany. He's such a cool and down to earth guy, he was nice enough to allow the 12 year old me onto the tour bus to sign my PRS before the show. Something I'll never forget.

My old band Straight Line Stitch opened up for Alter Bridge back in like......2005 I think it was and he brought us up on his bus for a bit and was just the nicest fella. What a nice bus it was too lol

For just a moment we were able to witness two guitar hero’s geeking out with their triple XYZ’s with doubly rectified LMNOP’s powered by a single coiled HVAC with internal CPAP’s forgetting for a second they were making a video for us mere mortals.
Mark is the reason I even got interested in playing guitar. I hope I get a chance to meet him one day.

When I was in high school I heard the cover of "I'm 18" that Mark and Creed recorded for the movie "The Faculty". The guitar distortion on that track is one of my all time favorite rock distortions I've ever heard. I know part of that is the low end from the bass guitar, but the muscle car-like roar of that guitar distortion is really something special. If I remember correctly, I believe a friend said he used a Mesa Boogie Triple Rectifier. Anyway, man I've tried and tried over the years to achieve that exact guitar sound and never really gotten there. I absolutely love that aggressive roar.

Thumbs up for reference to Ace Frehley's black Les Paul. 🤘🏻I just *had* to have a Les Paul because of Ace. I had a beautiful black Gibson Les Paul that was stolen. Broke my heart.

my dual rectifier Roadster was turned into a fire breather once I switched to EL34s surprisingly
Love the model and owned the SE version. I tested three at the same time and I loved everything about it. Except one thing: It was bottom heavy. Sitting down and especially resting the right picking arm on it made it hard to use the left hand for fretting as I had to use it to counter balance. What's your experience with that particular thing? Thanks.

Conversation around 6 minutes in reminds me of an old interview with Jerry Cantrell of Alice in Chains, talking about touring with Van Halen. Eddie picked up Jerry's guitar and it sounded like Eddie Van Halen. most of the tone is in the hands, fingers, how you pluck.
This saying is so cliche and wrong. "Tone" is in the amp and guitar, "technique" is in the fingers. You're not going to make crazy pinch harmonic squeals on the clean setting of an amp. You will sound like how you sound as a player no matter what guitar you use though.
Great interview! Mark is probably top 3 most influential guitarist in my music career. Super underrated by the mass public.

Mark is the reason I started to play guitar and write my own songs and use alternate tunings. He influenced me soooo much! But I never liked his tone neither clean nor dirty. The first album that I liked the tone was on the last Tremonti album 🙂
I need to build a rule set so Mark can procedurally generate new song first drafts from his hook and riff library.
