Thanks in advance for those checking out this video. Please leave a like and do consider subscribing to the channel! REMEMBER THIS IS BETA SOFTWARE STILL. Please only upgrade to Davinci Resolve 19 Public Beta if you have backed everything up first and don’t have any important projects in progress. I’ve personally kept 18.6.6 download file handy and have been switching back and forth making sure not to open any key projects in 19. Although I do have backups for 18.6.6 and can roll back. Anyway, BE CAREFUL!
Hey Alex, thanks to your video and talking about the music remixing now possible in the beta, I realised that stem separation is now becoming feasible for audio in general and found a plugin to do this on a track I am working on, completely outside Davinci, in Reaper. Voila: vocals on an already-mixed track are now louder. Fantastic! While I don't have the DR Studio version as yet, the features BM keep piling in there do make it seem more and more attractive...🙂
The new audio tools are great. Years ago, when Fairlight was a separate company, their DAWs, like the Xynergi, were really good and gave Protools a run for their money in post-production. So it is not surprising that BM has produced these astonishing tools.
Unfortunately useless when having multiple voice tracks, which I almost always have. It needs to be clip level also, not only track level. Same for the remixer.
Thanks for this video. Very infomative. I was trying to walk through everything while you talked about it and I don't see Ducker (Yes, Ducker :) in my audio. I'm on the release version of 19. Did they remove that feature or do I need to do something to make it show up in the audio Inspector? Thanks
Does Davinci have or plan to have something like Premiere's Remix Tool? This is not a tool to mix audio elements like bass, treble, voice, drums, etc., but (almost) instantly edits the length and timing of the audio track with a simple click and drag. This has been the most helpful tool to me, so much so that I take my audio track into Premiere, size it to the length I need, then export it out to use in Davinci. Thanks for all you do.
Giveaway - And yes, I love the auto audio ducking, too! The audio remixer seems interesting, but I get almost all my music in STEMS, so less useful for me. But the audio ducker is going to be very useful!
I’m fairly sure there is a disclaimer where I say that it’s in beta and you need to be careful. You’re absolutely right though there are definitely some little bugs and things not working fully as expected. We are already on Beta 2 and that’s already more stable. 💯 don’t download and upgraded if you haven’t backed up your projects and/or have mission critical projects on. 👍🏻
If someone does not know what the word BETA means and it’s consequences then they should not be using it. If things go wrong, they only need to look in a mirror to see who is to blame.
@@PeterDrage I’m fully aware of the word BETA! :) However, it’s WAY too early to sit and clap your little hands over the cool new features before the program runs more smoothly. If you follow the Davinci Forum, you’ll also see there are a lot of silly mistakes. Especially in the “Cut” tab and Source tape or just with in and out, then insert It destroys everything you do! And no, once you’ve opened your project in this beta version, there’s no going back. So the wise choice is to remember to back up your database, and go back to the stable version :)
They need to take a page from AVID and make that timecode window bar able to source TC select a specific track. Get tired of hiding tracks/gang match all day just to get some Source TC info. The information is all there: there is absolutely no reason Blackmagic can't do this as an option in the Data-burn-in tab for at least an overlay like PPro. Such a pain.
Thanks your videos are great, could you do a tutorial on how you make you’re “Subscribe” animation as well as you Intro? Also, how you put your head into a small box in the corner. I’ve seen that on some other TH-camrs, but it always seems so complicated they way they do it, then try to sell you something.
GIVEAWAY Nice one Alex. Question for you, I plugged my speed editor in the other day and a message prompted me to update it's firmware, any ideas what has been updated. Has there been any functional improvements do you know?
Agreed that is a very cool feature. Haven’t mentioned here mainly as felt that the other tools had more of an impact on my general editing but you’re right this one would be right up there for a lot of editors and not just colourists or finishing workflows.

is Resolve 19 faster now? did they make it so the free version actually uses your GPU now so playback is not super slow?

Giveaway - this is amazing! Audio-ducking for sure in my line of work, since we do snippets of interviews
Great tips, had no idea about the audio ducker feature...that's going to save me loads of time! Looking forward to the Giveaway!
givaway - Love how much the blackmagic people just add so much stuff
You completely forget to warn about the beta version. It’s full of lots of errors, including in section 1, where you talk about inserting.

when are they releasing DVR 19?
For me it’s probably going to be the background blur/non-blur it’ll let you do after the fact
