I loved him. He looks so sexy in the ancient style. Lin Yu Shen practically smolders every time he is on screen. I loved Lin Yu Shen as Miao Ren Feng, and Maggie Huang as Nan Lan. They were so good together in this.
Thank you Tencent for giving us this very good and sincere wuxia drama after a long time, it is a wuxia at heart, hope more people can appreciate this under dog drama ❤

One last thing this scene is telling the audience that miao renfeng is dead but no one see him getting killed so if there is another season the writers take this scene in an direction telling the audience how miao renfeng making it out alive. Secondly since the writers is pretty much telling us that miao renfeng is the male lead biological father then in the other season they could show us how miao renfeng making out alive and in search to find his son and letting him know that they're father and son and them bonding.
Where is this happened in this series? They committed so many crimes these evil venomous people that not even their final death could make up for their crimes. Honestly, l wonder, how sick the minds of these novel/script writers are? It was good, that all important scenes were presented in clips, no need to watching the whole creepy story.
Miao Ren Fang’s fighting skills/scene here is sooo amazing! He is so cool! Hope to see more of Lin Yushen in many many more dramas. He is a very talented and versatile actor, just look at his facial and eye expressions, they convey so much…….maybe…possibly…hopefully…in NIF3???

In the novel, Hu Fei ended up alone and the drama sticks to this ending. There’s actually a second novel, which was actually written before this one, that let Hu fell in love with Miao RF’s daughter. However, the storyline of that novel conflicted with the development of this drama so there won’t be a sequel to this drama. However, the last scene of this drama did hint that there may be a future for Hu to find love in Miao’s daughter, after she has grown up.

It was a drama with weak, evil characters, and only one charismatic one, on a quest for truth. It’s amazing how many viewers love movies/series with more evil characters, evil actions, lies, so many innocent people dying, no justice, and not leaving a good impression, what was going on in China over the centuries. Just murder, and killings, treating commoners like slaves. Nothing to cherish. Just my perception. Thank you.

However, the author did say the two novels are independent of each other. The age gap between Hu Fei and Miao’s daughter would probably be around 15 years, I don’t think it’s that awkward. In this drama, this plot line does not exist, it’s my reading based on a fan of the two novels. When Jin Yong wrote this novel, he wanted to show what gallantry means in the world of wuxia and what better way to show this than having a teenager displaying heroism and bravery in a world full of bad people. I love this drama for how it’s adaptation of the novel and for its fight scenes, which is done awesomely based not on special effect but on good choreography, camera works and editing. We like drama Game of Thrones, House of Cards and this drama, not because these dramas are filled with “good” people; we liked it because the characters, even the villains, are interesting people.
