I had the honor to work on the CH-53D and E. The last flight of the D was in Afghanistan, despite the official Sundown Flight was in Hawaii 1 month prior. We were still doing combat missions with the D in Afghanistan well after that. One of the Ds I personally worked on is going to be on display at Castle Air Base in Atwater California. Worked on the E for significantly less time but not as memorable. For those that do read this and know the following Semper Malus. Stay Ugly.
Yea the d was a good one I was in the 160 for 14 years. We use the uh-60 m and g models. Those 53s always looked like a Chinook and Blackhawk had a baby lol
I was a 6123 when I was in from '78-'84 at MCAS(H)Tustin, CA. Buildup and teardown of the T-64 engine that powered the 53A and D for H&MS-16 but my parent Squadron was HMH-361. Deployed twice to Okinawa with them. Nothing like the sound of these beasts winding up.
One of my favorite memories Marine'n was coming in hot with 4 53ds flying nap of the earth during team spirit 95 in Korea. So absolutely overwhelming show of force.
👍🏽🎯👍🏽 I actually liked the CH-53 Eagle. Steered like a Cow. Ate mega-gallons- and NOISY!! What we’d called a KIDNEY BUSTER! But Great & Dedicated Pilots & Maintenance Support!
And how many Mi-26’s can you land and store on an amphibious ship? Navy and Marine helicopters are build to be stored on ships and transported all over the world
In other words, witn external charge, internal charge, the weapons it has mounted and more features, it's in fact like a micro army going any where for many porposes. Maybe one of this, with the specific crew and external weapon charge should be able to defeat the government of a very small country not well army equipped. Maybe I'm Not so far from a true fact. I'm against war anywhere but this is astonishing. Pretty sad should be used for some other instances, but sometimes the reality is not so kind.
Yep that's an E model Super Stallion.......but the Pavelow, USAF, Ret. was still the baddest modified Vietnam Era Sikorsky HH-53 famously brought to us by Igor..........
Just russian origin. There's no any russian merit in his achievements. More over bolshevik(later communist) russia kick off him from motherland. I like the way how the modern communist mobs appropriates other people's property and achievements. 😂

I’ve worked around practically every one of these helicopters on the ground being a timber cutter in the northwest back in the day when they let us log big timber before the Democrats greenies kicked us out of the woods these things were awesome. The Chinook were bad too Columbia had several chinook helicopters I remember I was on a forest fire one year. They just bought one from Donald Trump. It showed up. It was all black. They called it Oprah to this day. I believe it’s called Oprah. It was a nice helicopter they got it they used it like it was when they first picked it up on the fires it wasn’t stripped out yet you know Donald Trump it was luxurious and in a big way Trump Vivek 2024😮

TRUE AMERICAN MUSCLE 🇺🇸
I'd love to see a redesign of this where it doesn't look like something old that's just had things added to the outside all over it.
Idk - that's part of its charm.
Sweet soundtrack ❤

Sikorsky a Russian Helicopter made in the US.
How so?
There is a Russian built helicopter that can carry quite a bit more than the CH-53K.
Not russian but soviet. Those times gone.
@@santka3739Nothing has passed, the Russians are still a power in aviation technology!
Any proofs? 🤔 @Iro-jf5pv
