    Your new patio furniture is beautiful, Tanya. The gardens are amazing. It’s hard to believe you’ve been able to do all this in two years while tending the allotment gardens, making soap, doing videos,etc. You and Josh are great team. I remember the first video of this property. What a transformation! As for videos every week….do what you can. No one can (or should) ask more than that. They’re always interesting and informative. 💖😊

      Thank you! The allotment is no more, but that's a reason why I've been able to dedicate more time to the home garden. It really has transformed since April 2021! I appreciate your feedback on more videos too 💚

    Love your videos Tanya, but don't stress yourself out! If I may suggest for future videos, growing flowers and fruit and vegetables in different containers, e.g. In the vegepod, window boxes, and all types of raised beds. And something for us disabled gardeners who can only garden at waist height. Thank you so much Tanya and Josh too! Not forgetting Maggie, she's gorgeous.

    Hello Tanya Lovely Greens. Thank you for the tour of your lovely garden and all thats going on in it . The weather has been awful these last few weeks. I am growing dwarf type Tomatoes in pots some in two minnie glass houses but most just outdoors in pots. Do you think they will be okay with all this rain we have had in Yorkshire ? They are constantly soaking wet . Ive got lots of Tomatoes but all green. Is this due to lack of sunshine ? Thank you for any advice offered. By the way i know your work is never done. You are a very busy lady . Any time you have to spend on video offering your knowledge for free is wonderful. So for me, Whenever you can make a video its cool . Thank you Tanya Cya. 😄

    Your garden is looking amazing, so did that food. It's such a shame we don't have a Waitrose here, I'd love to try that! BTW it's lovely that you still do videos, no matter how or when, as it's just great to see your progress. A couple of garden youtubers rarely do videos at all now they are 'famously' doing garden stuff elsewhere. But I know you wouldn't do that, and I'm just grateful to see your videos when you can do them, you work really hard and it is also such a busy time of the year. A short video would be great, but as I said, when ever you can do them is just as cool, they're always really good!

    • @Lovelygreens
      @Lovelygreens  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Ah, it must be amazing to be able to grow them outdoors and let them do their thing. In Britain, they don't seem to produce many tubers other than below the main plant. Training up a wall in the greenhouse or polytunnel makes sense for us since it frees up space for other crops.

I have mine planted in 5-20 gallon tubs 3 are growing against my garage up an old bed frame, one is growing in a tall wooded crate and I’m weaving the vines through the slats, and another is growing next to my steps, but I have it elevated about 3 ft with a tomato trellis, so the vines go up, then back down. Compost is pretty much it in the garden beds :) I use FBB (fish, bone, blood) when planting out some crops like tomatoes and aubergines in the Polycrub, and organic liquid feeds made from seaweed, comfrey, and nettles for plants growing in containers. Sometimes purchased and sometimes homemade.

    Hi there. Be wary of drying your Onions in a green house or cold frame. I know of two people who's onions last year actually got cooked and turned to mush when doing so. I would suggest out side on a raised wire frame or similar to let air circulate and then shield from or take inside when rain expected.

    • @Lovelygreens
      @Lovelygreens  ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks, Jonathan, and I'll keep an eye out! It's been quite cool and wet here and the day I filmed was the last sunny day we're supposed to have for a bit. I'll move those onions if it starts getting too warm in the greenhouse, though.

    • @Lovelygreens
      @Lovelygreens  ปีที่แล้ว

      Mine didn't germinate at first either! I stuck a finger in the potting mix, swirled it up a bit to create more air pockets and drainage, and they germinated thick and fast within a couple of weeks. Don't give up on yours :)

    You may be disappointed with those Cara potatoes Tanya the tubers grow quite large but apparently they lack flavour and are useless for boiling as they fall apart and have a watery consistency. All is looking great in your garden as always. Emmas Allotment does a 10 minute video 3 times per week so yes a short 10 minute video once per week would be OK if that's to your liking.

    • @Lovelygreens
      @Lovelygreens  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I wouldn't grow it if it was my choice! It's a seed potato given to me for a potato growing competition. Everyone has to grow Cara and the potatoes need to be grown in the same size tub. We roast most of our potatoes so hopefully they cook well that way.

    Love the channel.
    How’s the Ollas been functioning for the greenhouse? Has that been your only water source ? Or any additional top watering? Thanks and you guys take care and be safe

      Hi Steven, they've been great! I'm manually watering still, but half as much as last year, and I don't worry about the crops drying out. The one thing that could be better is having a larger water reservoir for the middle bed. The 5 gallon bucket empties relatively quickly.

      I used to have a small flock and I do play with the idea but the idea of having some again. We'll have to see :)

    Hi Tanya, I've been reading that you need to cure onions in a shaded area with lots of air flow. I see you are using your greenhouse. Wondering if the film you have on your greenhouse shades the plants? Maybe I don't need to put them in the garage? Thank you, Joan from Sequim, WA

    • @Lovelygreens
      @Lovelygreens  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Joan, and that's right - it's to protect the onions from getting sunburnt. Our forecast here is pretty rainy for the next week and maybe more, so I'm going to leave them in the greenhouse for now. It's warm and dry in there and hopefully will zap the moisture off them quickly. I'll keep an eye on them, though :)

    I love your content and make a point to watch all of your videos BUT I think prioritizing what keeps you sane is more important! I think one or two videos a month is more than reasonable and will hopefully give you time to plan new things and HAVE FUN!

    I had no clue that you could plant onion sets in the fall / winter and then have a harvest in the summer. Has anyone tried this in zone 5 in the United States?

    • @Lovelygreens
      @Lovelygreens  ปีที่แล้ว

      I'm not sure about zone 5 but there are only a few types of onion that you can overwinter - Senshyu is one of them. The benefit is that if you start them off early enough in September or October, you can get an early onion crop before your spring sown/planted crop.

    Thanks for all you do. Can you make videos without editing?

    • @Lovelygreens

      No, that's not the type of content I'd ever make. Pretty much every video you watch is edited unless it's Live.

    Dear Tanya, I am not native English (so excuse my language), but whenever I see your harvest or garden, or sprouts, flowers....I always say: Oh my G-d that is so sexy! hihihi You are a big inspiration to me. Enjoy your outside sofa, grill, veggies, fruits, Maggie...just enjoy the fruits of your hard work! You are a treasure! (Btw. are you a Cancer from the Horoscope?) Much love XX

      Thank you so much 🙂💚 Healthy plants and fresh veg are soooo beautiful. They fill me with such awe and hope, and I think you too. And no, I'm a Virgo, so that's a really early birthday gift to myself! Making the most of what summer sun we can get!
